edit: NOTE: ORIGINAL POSTER ENTERED WRONG DATE IN POST HEADER, s/b January 25, 2008
Clarification: Just to clarify: The wrong date was written by a reader because Pluto moves into Capricorn twice in 2008. As stated correctly on the Alpha Life Trends web site, the first time is January 25, 2008 at 10:44 pm EST, then AGAIN November 27, 2008 Pluto moves into Capricorn.

From Karyl Jackson at AlphaLifeTrends:

Pluto in Sagittarius
November 11, 1995 to January 25, 2008

Pluto in Capricorn
January 25, 2008 to March 23, 2023

Pluto rules power and mis-use of power. Pluto is also the energy, the motives, the integrity of the purpose of using Pluto's power. Pluto is also the issues of the motives that are hidden within the person wielding power. Words can easily be used as a front, but it is Pluto's energy and motives that point to the real purpose, the real goals for utilizing energy. These deep motives, even if they are unseen, will at certain times explode similar to the volcanic explosion that reveals the elements deep within.

Pluto often brings us situations that contain issues of power, in which we fear power greater than ourselves and thus we have to rise to the occasion to make the inner power greater than the outer powers. An example of this is the fear of outer authority and we must respond to situations in which outer authority comes into our life and our inner confidence or inner strength has to be stronger than the outer situations. This response to situations becomes the trial by fire methods in which Pluto works.

This outer authority, outer power can be a positive source of competition or a person in a position of power who is misusing their position to wield their power in inappropriate ways to cause harm to others. The purpose for this outer power and the motives for this outer power becomes the Pluto issue. The motives, ethics, integrity and values that come with the use or mis-use of power are hidden from view, however they are known by the person and ultimately become visible as the intention is continued over time, setting a precedence that speaks of it's own accord.

Our response to power greater than ourselves, whether real or perceived, becomes our intention as well. We can respond to situations with equal harmful ways or choose to grow inner qualities and outer expressions greater than those expressed by those in power positions. An athlete can respond to the marathon of hills by bringing more strength and more endurance to meet the challenges, or veer from the race with intention to not continue or to cheat in some way or another. Similarly a person in positions of power can wield this power to fulfil responsibilities in the highest order, or become mesmerized by their own self-proclaimed position and take aim at others they feel jealous or hateful toward, and skew the game board of life to their own advantage.

Pluto has been in Sagittarius since November 1995. Sagittarius represents honesty, integrity, philosophy, beliefs, religion, higher education, teaching and knowledge, laws both inner and outer, goals, plans and aspirations. Thus the issues that we had been dealing with since 1995 have entailed the religious power or mis-use of religious beliefs of the fanatic Islamics, Christians, Catholics, Hindus and others that have met with real or perceived power by fueling their own hatred, jealousies with a response of greater power that is harmful to others. The wars in which we have today, as Pluto is in the last several degrees of Sagittarius represent the problematic issues of Sagittarius in which the use and mis-use of power is taking precedence over our headlines.

In our own lives, we experience the issues of Pluto in Sagittarius by way of using our own honesty, integrity, philosophy, beliefs as a response to the different powers in our life. The issues we meet with are not as important as what our response to these power issues. With an inundation of powers used against us for no reason or as an unfairness that has come into our life, we can be assured that this is the hill that we have to climb to become stronger and more powerful than the outer elements. Each person has had their own custom made issues since Pluto came into Sagittarius, November 1995, and now that it is on it's last few degrees, these issues must somehow come to a resolution.

Our response to these custom-made Pluto in Sagittarius events show our honesty, integrity, philosophy, beliefs and intentions. There are responses to situations that cover the spectrum. Important is the individuals that during this time have picked up positions of power and have wielded these positions against others and have not build any inner qualities except to enlarge their hate, anger and enjoyment of others pain and anguish. Whatever we have created during this Pluto in Sagittarius will become the road that we will find as Pluto moves into Capricorn January 25, 2008. For many who have misused their power, their road will end, similar to their inner plank that others were pushed off of in order to rid their world of others they did not favor. For many who were at the end of the callous and cruel swords of power who have fought valiantly against such mis-use of power by growing inner qualities greater than the fear of the sharp sword, the ground will swell with heightening values to find a different advantage.

Pluto's direction changed to turn direct, September 8, 2007 and began toward the direction of it's new location, Pluto in Capricorn, which will be reached January 25, 2008. Typically about two weeks before Pluto turns direct (September 8, 2007) a massive amount of scandals become visible as Pluto begins to rumble and spew forth the hidden motives, ethics and values used while Pluto has been in Sagittarius. This rumbling started March 30, 2007 as Pluto turned retrograde, and around September 8, 2007, this rumbling again began. This time, reaching the last several degrees of Sagittarius and the endings and closures are required, the rumbling will become strong and very powerful to begin the spewing process to get everything out into the open. Several weeks before September 8th, we began to recognize the magnitude of the magma that will have reached it's capacity to remain hidden and begin to bubble to the surface.

The Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon on August 28, 2007 also held Mercury's connection with the changing winds of Uranus. This was a time that the rumbling began to occur and the situations began to become very vulnerable. For the two weeks before Pluto turned Direct, starting on or about August 28th, we began to hear the rumbling take place. Once Pluto turned direct, September 8, 2007, we began to watch many events expose the hidden elements come to the surface of the integrity, honesty, beliefs, intentions and the use or mis-use of philosophy, religion and power. This showing of the deep ethics continues through December 11, 2007, when Jupiter's connection with Pluto causes an explosion to bring all hidden elements out into the open. This revealing will create huge issues of scandals, mis-use of power, corruption of any Sagittarius industries, such as churches or religious groups, higher education and colleges, judicial courts and committees, laws and legal groups, and the like. Once this explosion takes place as Jupiter and Pluto connect at 28° 23', the magma of ethics, integrity, motives and intentions will come spewing out to create our new pathway according to the qualities we have used within this Pluto in Sagittarius time frame.

Jupiter moves from Sagittarius to Capricorn December 19, 2007, and begins to pave the way by expanding our magma of ethics and motive into our new path. Capricorn rules business, career, government and all of the positions of power in the outside world. Those individuals who have been in positions of power while Pluto has been in Sagittarius will have the opportunity to move up in position, however if the mis-use of power occurred, then the fall from power will begin at this time. From the time that Jupiter moves into Capricorn, December 19, 2007, to pave our new path with this ethics magma and when Pluto moves into Capricorn, January 25, 2008, we will see roads end because of the lack of ethics, but we will also see huge scandals occur as our motives and actions become the very road we are standing on and thus the visibility of our response to situations is seen.

This explosion of ethics magma in December 2007 will cause a great deal of chaos and crisis in the Sagittarius sectors of churches or religious groups, higher education and colleges, judicial courts and committees, laws and legal groups, and the like. The Capricorn sector will also come under a great deal of scrutiny because of Pluto's scandalous activities of mis-using power in the Capricorn arenas of big business, government, government agencies, international government, international business and government agencies. This exposure that begins in December 2007 and moves into January 2008 will set the precedence with the crisis that will ensue because of the mis-use of power that will become prolific in it's exposure.

In 2008, Jupiter will be in Capricorn all during the year, while Pluto will move into Capricorn on Janury 25, 2008 and then turn retrograde to go back into Sagittarius for another uncovering of important power issues on June 14, 2008. Again on September 8, 2008, Pluto turns direct at 28° 29' Sagittarius to make a b-line toward Capricorn and actually enter Capricorn on November 28, 2008 where it will stay until 2023.

This long, extended stay of Pluto in Capricorn (2008 - 2023) will completely revise the power issues and issues of authority. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762 to 1779, which included the founding of our country to gain the freedom against the oppression from the King of England. Now our power issues will once again reveal similar issues that were addressed with "taxation without representation", the War of Regulation from 1764 to 1771 against corrupt colonial officials, The Stamp and Sugar Act which tried violators in Admirally court where the defendants were considered guilty until they could prove their innocence. The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Articles of the Constitution built from the Magma Carter written to set the parameters and rules of freedom and independence. We will find ourselves in the same boat of addressing the oppressive and corrupt power issues that have been used against people and to revolutionize the checks and balances required for the rightful use of power.

Thanks for this, too. These are the most coherent interps of Pluto in Capricorn I've seen so far without spreading fear and depression. Awesome.

Jan & heart cakes -- thanks for the corrections
I was looking at Pluto re-entering Capricorn on November 27, 2008

It moves into Cap in January 2008, turns retro at 01Cap09 on April 2, turns direct again at 28Sag30 on Sept 9, then re-enters Cap in November.

Oh wow thank you so much Zala! My now ex bf's (as of last week) moon is at 1 degree Capricorn. That will hardly be fun I imagine. Then again last time Pluto was conjunct my Moon...well I was born and from what I hear that wasn't too pleasant of an experience (i almost died).

Furthermore I notice that Pluto has been hanging around the Galactic Center for a while now (i think its at 26 degrees Sagittarius). That seems like a huge transformational aspect?

OMG! what does it mean to have the galactic center exactly at your asc-venus midpoint?! my asc is 24.05 and my venus is at 29.01 (both in sagittarius) making their midpoint 26.33ish! i am kinda freaked out.. what could this mean?

p.s. you're welcome zala.. aka, no sweat.

Check this out
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/008745.html

Is the m/p in the 12th house or 1st house?? I think it's a fabulous placement!!! Methinks the energies/emanations from the heart of our galaxy could modify/express what you value and how you appear to others.....

I have Jupiter at 26Gem26, so, like Kim Falconer in the link above, I could be involved in writing about the travels of our species during this time, the Scribe, so to speak..... with your emphasis in Sag, you could be one of the "do-ers" I may write about

okay, but that means you will probably have to stalk me a bit.. i don't mind.

but really that kinda freaks me out cuz i also have neptune conjunct my asc (from the 12th; venus is in my 1st) AND i live on my neptune-asc line right now so i experience lots of psychic "knowing" of what people need/want and it is so weird cuz i can't differentiate between peoples' needs and my own anymore! and now this! oh boy..

also, thanks for the link!! going to go read it right now..

I think my brain is going to explode! Galactic Centre?

I am taking in too much without the basics, aren't I Zala?

I hate it when I am confused. I feel like I am about to short-circuit from info over-laod, and everything is jumbled up and not filed properly in my brain.

How do I separate the important transits from the trivial ones?

Sometimes I think I was not meant to know astrology at all. I bet this frustration has something to do with some transit.

*sigh*

... back to reading.

zala,

well.. neptune is exactly trined my pluto right now (19 libra and 19 aquarius respectively). maybe that could be it. and it has been transiting my mercury, mars and sun over the last several years (11,11 and 15 aqua). ALSO i just had pluto transit through my 12th and ascendant (as well as my neptune) over the last few years. jupiter just finished transiting my neptune as well. oh, and i am a pisces south node so it is kinda my default. but here is what astro.com says about where i live. i almost wonder if i should move cuz this is TOO true. and it is kinda freaky. a lot of times it is very good, but sometimes it can be too weird.

Neptune/AC Line

Changes, which you experience under the influence of this line, happen unobtrusively and almost unnoticeably. You feel relaxed and easy, and pleasantly removed from the ordinariness of everyday life. Encouraged by idealism, sympathy and the limitless belief in the power of good over evil, you are happy to entrust your life to a higher presence.

By trusting your only feelings and intuition, you are in danger of losing sight of reality. Contrasted against actual reality, your sensitivity is stretched. You then tend to escape by dreaming, bask in romance and prefer to see the world through rose-coloured glasses.

Surrounded by a secretive and mysterious aura, it is hard to get a hold of reality, and you become the perfect mirror for the projection of unquenched cravings and repressed emotions of others. You may be idealised by some of the people around you, but it is also possible that you are deceived.

You should pay special attention to false promises, secrets or shallow friends, otherwise partnerships end as disappointments. These places are unsuitable for acquiring material possessions or speculating financially. On the other hand, creative pursuits, social services as well as becoming involved with transcendental, religious and spiritual subjects have a purpose.

I have rather similar story, pretty awful, but on the other hand I really do appreciate that gift of being able to die and come to life again. Daily if need be. Don't you sometimes feel the same way?

Anyway, I'm Cap, so I'll guess I'm entering a interesting period.

Just to clarify: The wrong date was written by a reader because Pluto moves into Capricorn twice in 2008.

The thread begins with a post from my web site and the moderator has posted the clarification to the dates that were at the top portion that a reader indicated was 2007 rather than 2008. We always want to know when such important transits are happening. THANKS!

Karyl ~

Thank you for bringing your insights to LL!!
I read at your website often.
I made a mistake in the post title, and I cannot correct it because I'm not the Moderator of *this* forum, I can only edit the body of my post.
Please contact lalalinda: At the top of the forum header page it reads "Moderated by lalalinda" -- her name is a hyperlink that will open a New Message in your email client.

Thank you for being so prompt in your correction. We in "astrology land" always have a sensitivity about dates of major transitions. This transit will be so important to us all. We all want to get the right date that we should "sit at the edge of our seats"

At what degree of Sag will the Pluto/Jupiter conjunction take place?

My 8th house cusp is:

8th House Sagittarius 27°36'44

Venus/Jupiter midpoint: Sagittarius 28°24

Oh, and thanks Karyl Jackson for being here. Nice to [sort of] meet you.
