Libra: The Male

The Libra male is blessed with a lazy charm and is often attractive without being aware of it. There is no doubt that he has taste, is instinctively fastidious and has probably chosen one of the less ordinary careers...perhaps in the area of the Arts, for example. Although he can be balanced on the surface, he is swayed by indecision for a great proportion of his life. He is prone to evade showdowns about most things, if at all possible, and has an aversion to serious quarrels. That having been said, he is quite likely to cultivate a non-serious argument regarding emotional matters in order to simply relieve tension. This man's greatest desire is a partner who has a sweet nature and who is not difficult to get along with. He makes for a gentle and courteous mate...but one with something of a roving eye. Inclined to be rather indolent and reluctant to deal with main issues, this man has a tendency to drift, taking the course that life's currents determine for him, rather than "paddle his own canoe." Always highly intelligent, the Libra male is a student of human nature. He is fond of a joke and able to laugh uproariously at the wisecracks of others. Above all, this man enjoys fun. Secretly, he is only too conscious of life's tragedies and well aware of the human predicament, but is not one to adopt lost causes or get on a personal soap-box to air his views. In essence, the Libra male will never become a bore. It is unfortunate that the man governed by Libra often seems to initially give a bad impression of himself, but once a person gets to know him, it soon becomes apparent that he is capable of being a very rare individual indeed...a good friend.

With regard to long-term relationships, the Libra man is not always easy to please. The sameness of domesticity is not to his liking, but he is a very passionate soul and a respecter of tradition. Hence, a serious commitment is the reasonable result...and the male governed by Libra is indeed a reasonable individual. In fact, he is a born judge and no other Zodiac Sign can bring order to life with so much wisdom. His superior ability to guide the destiny of his home is one of this man's greatest virtues and he will provide well for his family. To the male ruled by Libra, love is a high art. The passions here are overwhelming and this man will rise to magnificent heights in the expressions of his romantic nature. On occasion, he may be tempted to seek an amorous liaison outside the home, but it is usually nothing more than his variety of expression and bears no negative reflection upon his partner. The man governed by Libra rarely seeks a separation from his chosen mate unless the conditions of his life become non-adjustable. He has an instinctive distrust of the untried and will employ all his judiciary abilities to guide the domestic routine in satisfaction of his fastidious taste.

Thanks for that. That should clear a few things up for people.

Heart Cakes:

Lol! Wish I could take credit for them but they are not mines. I am however a seldom contributor to the "Ants" forum section of this board. I am still compiling my recent stuff for the next contribution. Love your piece though; very abstract and modern. Love the movement on it; the eye just follows the curves all around. Why don't you add it in the "Ants" forum?

LOL! And well I can't speak for the rest of the Libra males but according to the sextrology... Nah! Libras are quite "picky" when it comes to choosing a female. They usually go for the more "classical" beauties; i.e. Tall, slim, slender yet not too much... still have curves on em and have a more refined and Angular face rather then outright "cute" (but there are exceptions.) More impotantly, she has to true to her sex but at the same time has a more "masculine" and aggressive edge over her sisters Lol!

Best examples I can think of are personalities like Catherine Zeta Jones, Lexa Doig, Holly Marie Combs, Aishwarya Rai, Rebecca Romijn, Sophie Marceau, oh and DEFIANTELY my girlfriend *whsitles* but that would be a bit too biased Lol!

I know two Libra men and they are both very charming because they take an *interest* in you. It's not like the Gemini charm, which to be honest comes across to me as more talking and flirting but the Libra men I've known pay attention to things about you like your relationships with others, and specific things about your appearance. A Libra guy I know complimented my shoes quite recently and said that I was the most stylish person he knows! I was so complimented! Also, with both of these guys I know their ex-girlfriends, and the big comment that the girlfriends made was that "he knows how to please a woman" and that he takes his time during sex, and that sex is very important. Sounds dreamy to me! lol

I have had one Libra interested in me in my life, and the first thing i thought was that he was devious. I could not trust him. I also felt that his charm was too easy and too good to be a "special" thing he was doing. personally, I thought that he was a bit of a male gigolo.

So ,when I read that link and your comments Xodian, about Libras being choosy, I found that very difficult to believe.

Other Libra males have been my friends or business associates, and I have always been one of the boys with them, and that was more comfortable than being persued romantically by one because... well, they just seem hard to believe. They sound as if they have rehearsed their lines.

That one once told me that he saw my soul or something like that and i almost gagged from shock that he actually pulled a line like that.

And also... As I said before, Librans are cryptic in a sense that I personally never know what makes them tick because at one moment, they are all man, the next they are enjoying being submissive; or at one hand they are sweet and deep, then at the next they are being shallow.

My idea of a headache at times. LOL...

Male gigolos!!

But, now I almost feel bad... okay i do feel bad because i put him through KGB interrogations and the poor guy ran away, and we got along so well... It is a pity because I will miss our arbitrary conversations and non-politically correct view on life. We laughed a lot.

And... Libra guys are not too punctual, are they?

Well, that is an unfair question because if you were to read up on the Virgo woman (me), you would walk away misinformed because I am seldom like a Virgo. I think my Virgo Sun and Venus kick in when I am in work mode. otherwise I am a Scorpio or Cancer.

It is as if we women look for Prince charming, and he arrives in the body of a Libra, but when he starts sweeping us off our feet, we just think that we are being conned because, 'c'mon... that CAN"T be real. It's too charming." you say. "There must be some ulterior motive."

Well, that's what I think. Poor guy probably thinks I am bad-news now.

Are Libra men vindictive? there is nothing worse than cold revenge served when one least expects?

Xodian, I did find those men in the Video Game world too feminine for my taste.

Having seen your photo, I won't deny that you are an attractive man - just not for me :P

I actually PREFER long-haired men Mmmmph........................................................ Okay, I'm back. So, I suppose it's all just in the facial features and expressions for me. Unfortunately, I do stand my ground and do think that every Libra man I have ever met (which happens to be a lot, otherwise I wouldn't have brought it up) has too feminine of features for my taste. However, they've all been very sweet men. I love them as friends and relatives

I've known/seen Librans who look masculine but still have a sweet persona that's more equivalent to typical feminine behavior.. though some would call it gentlemanly.
Libra is a masculine sign but Venus mellows that so I guess they get a bit of both worlds.

I love it personally!

I was thinking this interior designing HGTV host was a likely candidate for being a Libra. Nope. He's a Leo.

LOL! Funny you mentioned gigolos...

(The content in that link is rated 18+ so please make sure that you are the only one reading it Lol!)
http://www.geocities.com/imhit/libra.html

quote:
Libran male is very attractive to women-more gigolos are born under this sign than any other

Actually I would recommend the same link to Geminilover as well Lol! (though personally, its TOO general for my taste. I personally love sports and stamina... Well, that I personally can't comment on Lol! My girlfriend needs to comment on that.)

But you have to realise that even though a Libra male comes off all charming and willing, it might not be a sign that he wants a relationship. And that from my experience anyway, ends up being a Libra's Achillies' heel when it comes to Romance. Its kinda hard to decipher sometimes as to if he is getting seriously involved or not. As you said:

quote:
It is as if we women look for Prince charming, and he arrives in the body of a Libra, but when he starts sweeping us off our feet, we just think that we are being conned because, 'c'mon... that CAN"T be real. It's too charming." you say. "There must be some ulterior motive."

A good tell-a-tale sign usually is that he might cut down on his usual activites to make time for the "couple" so to speak Lol!

Well I can't say much about other Libras but I hate being late and I avoid being late at the best of my abilities.

Vindictive? Lol! That again is getting on a more personal scale. I don't take revenge; I want Justice. But generally... No.

LC:

Hey, no worries . We all have our tastes right? Lol! Though you have to realise that not all Libras come off so... Androgymous. I actually have to recommend a recent movie for you. Two of my fav. Libra stars are in it and they play quite the unruly couple Lol!

Its called shoot'em up. And it stars Clive Owens (One cool Libra) as the Mysterious trigger happy Mr. Smith and Monica Belluci (Un Libra molto calda LOL!) as a very streetsmart and witty prostitute.

Guns, Violence, Sex, Profanity... Not exactly your average Libra movie (though a bit too left wing oriented for my taste.) And well, no one can say that Clive Owens looks feminine Lol! But He acts so much like an Aggresive Libra (watch the movie... you'll see.)

Finally someone mentions Clive Owen.

Interesting, though, how he has the "manly man" looks (though Librachikety still might not agree), he's also the spokesperson for Lancome men's skincare range.

Well, I am about to eat my words. Hey, I was hungry anyway :P

Matt Damon is a Libra. *blushes* I always thought he was an Aries.

NORMALLY (*blushes again*), I prefer:

Mr. Aries

and...

Mr. Gemini

Edit: Nope, Matt Damon is 100% Libra Lol! Hard to believe but then take into account his performance in the Talented Mr. Ripley and Good Will Hunting.

Actually I actually am a big fan of the Jason Bourne series. He was amazing as Jason Bourne.

Hokey smokes! Clive Owens?! Feminine?!

Gosh LibraChickety. I gotta say, I really would like your opinion on The following Libras LOL! :

Viggo Mortensen:

Brandon Routh:

Will Smith:

And the pretty boy himself Lol! Zac Efron:

:P

CLIVE is by far more masculine than these men!

Johnny Depp is masculine? More so than Clive Owen? That seems like a pretty big contradiction.

Really? I don't think so. Perhaps it's just all in his demeanor. I don't know WHAT is it about Libra men (with Matt Damon as the exception :P), They're just too pretty for my taste. *shrugs shoulders*

I actually always thought Johnny Depp was a Scorpio. He's so mysterious and has those intense eyes.

I think I am starting to understand something. It is not about masculinity or femininity. I think for you it is style, and the more "stylish" a person is, the less attractive they are, and the more rugged a man is, the sexier they are??? Just trying to make sense of Clive Owen here.

LOL...

If Clive Owen was more Bohemian, would he have been more attractive?

If Johnny Depp was more like George Clooney is his style, would Johnny be less attractive?

Glad you liked it. Its more... "in your face" outlook on a Libra demenour. Not entirely true for the whole Libra male kind but kinda hit general points.

Librachickety:

Yeah I gotta say I am with AG on this one. I mean Johnny Depp has made his entire film career on playing characters that defy the "traditional" meaning of masculinity.

I mean lets count em down:

- Edward scissor hands.
- Sweeny Todd.
- Captain Jack Sparrow.
- Tim Burton's version of Ichabod Crane.

oh and lets not forget his version of Willy Wonka:

I think she means facial expression. Johnny Depp doesn't have cutsey feminine facial expressions.. like the one Clive Owen pulls in the second pic.

I think our facial expression is based on our personality though.

If one saw Clive Owen and Johnny standing next to each other frozen - completely expressionless.. Clive Owen would look more masculine.. but because their personality is coming through I agree that Johnny Depp seems more masculine.

:edit: I just saw the Willy Wonka pose.. yeah he does seem feminine there - with all the makeup on.. but that's because of the part he is playing..
Clive seems feminine - naturally in real life - not so much in his movies - when he "acts" quite masculine.

Really? Even when we compare life styles, Clive Owen seems to be about as low key on his life as Johnny Depp is and more of an astute conversationalist then Clive Owen when you see em give interviews about his movies and roles.

To tell you the truth, I would say Clive Owen really comes off as an Earth Sign comparitively.

No, it isn't about style. I wouldn't like Clive any more if he were dressed Bohemian :P Heck, I love a man that knows how to dress - just not a Libran :P

CoralFrequency gets it. However, I do think if you lined up Clive and Johnny, even STONE COLD, Johnny would still appear more masculine.

Johnny with make-up on looks more masculine to me than Clive. It's all about the facial structure, the look in the eyes, expressions, etc. I'm trying my best to describe it :P

And yes, Johnny HAS played off-beat roles (not all though: What's Eating Gilbert Grape) - but they're ROLES. Even with make-up and long hair, he still looks extremely masculine to me.

i get you, libra chickety. it's something in the facial structure itself; often the lips and eyes are very feminine or beautiful in libra men..

i just looked at the pictures again.. all the libra guys have really receptive eyes; and the guys above are more straightforward. so, in this way the libras are "feminine" and the others, aries, gemini, "masculine". does anyone else see that?

I don't personally see it girls. I just can't see how Clive Owen can come off more feminine then Johnny Depp in facial features or demenor. I really can't. Yes I do agree Libras have expressive eyes and usually have full lips but that doesn't exatly contitutes towards a feminine look unless we can expect a smooth unruly face to go with it Lol! I do agree that Libras like Brandon Routh and Zac Efron do have that androgymus look to them; But Clive over Jonny? No way.

Lol! And yes LC I am well aware they are just roles but take into account the fact that he is usually the one who takes the dialouge and puts his own "essentric" twist to it; Especially if you consider his role as the FBI agent in "Once upon a Time in Mexico." He has done the same thing time and time again, even with Sweeny Todd; Giving the Vengeful Barber a more... Punk Rocker demenor Lol! (He said it himself in an interview.)
