Until your replies, I'd decided I was not going to continue taking the time to format and post them anymore.
I like having these on record here at LL, so I can go back and check aspects on a particular date.....Cosmic Calendar, Monday March 17th ~
If you are a regular user of this Cosmic Calendar, the closing notes from yesterday's entry should have alerted you to today's major hassle. Whereas the cosmos made you deal with a Venus-Saturn polarity this past Saturday, now you have to come to grips with a Mercury-Saturn opposition (2:48AM PDT) which is being magnified by a contra-parallel between these same planets (9:30AM PDT). Add on a Sun-Juno square from Pisces to Sagittarius (12:08AM PDT) and it is clear that something must be done to prevent a let-down and rise in worry and stress. Typically, a Sun-Juno adversarial contact like this - along with a Mercury-Saturn polarity - can breed antagonism on the business, romantic and social fronts. Pulling back and being more hermit-like is certainly one way of coping. You can also remain in the thick of the psychic battle and tension environment by being a Rock of Gibraltar to needy dear ones and colleagues. However, be eminently pragmatic and say no to investing in high-risk financial matters. There's another big reason for care as Jupiter in Capricorn nears a caustic, 135-degree link to Saturn in Virgo. This becomes exact at 3:43AM PDT on Tuesday and is building up in momentum today. The Jupiter-Saturn connection can be utilized - in a favorable way - for your growth on educational, business and professional fronts. Nevertheless, if you are not someone who handles big decisions and experiences with ease and confidence, you may want to consult with a trusted adviser for support. The continuation of Leo Moon can be a boost for artists, musicians, singers, poets, dancers and almost anyone who has a beloved hobby. Take children under your wing this evening or let your inner child roam free for a change of pace.

The week ahead features our Spring Ingress, the annual passing of the Sun from below the equator to above it, marking the entrance of the Sun into the tropical sign of Aries. The Aries Ingress, or Spring Equinox, marks the moment when the days get longer than the nights in the northern hemisphere and when the nights get longer than the days in the southern hemisphere. The seasons are changing! We are moving out of the changing dreams of Pisces into the hard charging reality of Aries, the Ram, who leads with his head first. We are off and running into spring!
Venus and Mercury are still traveling together in early Pisces. Mercury is gaining on Venus and joins up with her next week. This week, when Venus makes an aspect, Mercury makes the same aspect a day or so later. Remember they both recently emerged from their immersion into Neptune’s dreams, illusions and visions as well as the North Node of destiny. They are carrying their dreams of the future with them. This week they will run into a bit of reality. I want you supporting them both with Neptune.
Over the next few months, until early May when Saturn goes direct, Neptune and the North Node of destiny are approaching each other and getting ready to form a conjunction. At the same time that Saturn stations to go direct, Neptune and the North Node join up. Now, this can either be very, very good or very, very bad. Or it can be a combination of both good and bad at the same time. We are going to start to talk about it NOW, so you can work with Neptune as he approaches the North Node. They are within orb of each other so you are feeling it already, even if it has no words you can wrap your arms around.
What we are going to do is consciously and consistently start to work with Neptune (to the extent one can actually work with Neptune). Saturn is much easier to wrap your arms around and wrestle to the ground. Your assignment this week is to develop a list of your preferred Neptune activities. I want a positive list ~ no drugs, alcohol or sugar/ addictive binging allowed. Neptune rules the muse or the creative process in all of us. Neptune is in charge of our Pisces house, our 12th house (in every chart by radical placement) and the various ways we seek to transcend our being and connect with the divine or some higher version of ourselves. Neptune also resides in a house in your chart ~ creating a sort of blind spot or place where you seek to merge with the divine.
Traditional positive Neptune energies are music, dance, art, nature, yoga, meditation, sleep, dreams, and however you like to escape into another reality. There are positive versions. There are negative versions ~ drugs, alcohol, despair, addictive behaviors, depression, and melancholy. As Neptune moves closer to the North Node over the months ahead, I want you to do some positive version of Neptune EACH and EVERY day. Hopefully, you will be able to set aside a firm amount of time for Neptune, to ground Neptune in your life. The point is to let your being know that you are available for messages from Neptune on regular intervals. You let Neptune know you are open to messages from him by INVITING NEPTUNE INTO YOUR LIFE EACH AND EVERY DAY. If your life seems too hectic for a regular Neptune time, I want you to consciously schedule time each and every day for activities that transport you to other realities.
My known Neptune activities are playing my piano or drums, washing dishes, cooking ~ particularly chopping, listening to music that makes me want to move my butt (and moving it), singing, acupuncture, reading anything astrology, foot massages, long and VERY hot or coolish showers (it depends), stroking/ snuggling with my cats, an extra roll over in bed for more sleep after the alarm rings, mid-afternoon naps and a few that are private which I am not going to share with you. Whenever I do these activities, I am transported into another reality. Whenever I do these activities, I am inspired, refreshed, and emerge with a new way of looking at the world. Whenever I do these activities I experience a sense of satisfaction, release and contentment. When I do them, I connect with my personal version of Neptune.
As we find Neptune moving closer to the North Node, all of our addictive issues are going to grow and want to become more prominent in our lives. The point of starting to work with Neptune NOW is to make sure that the addictive, escapist part of us (and yes we all have those parts in our being as we all have Neptune and Pisces some place in our charts!) is fed. We want to feed it with the POSITIVE versions of Neptune that we know about and are able to handle or perform successfully. Do know that between now and the beginning of May, Neptune is going to want to talk to you. Listen to him. Work with him. Seek him out ~ in the positive versions and ways you can connect to him. Watch out for the not-so-positive versions. That one glass of wine that suddenly turned into three glasses. That “Oh what can a little bit hurt?” It can hurt. Don’t pick up. Make sure to feed the growing Neptune desire with Positive Neptune each and every day! Get in the habit of doing it now, while Neptune is not so close to the North Node. Then, as he gets closer, you’ve got a new Neptune habit in place to permit regular communications.
Monday ~ Happy St Patrick’s day! As my Irish Mother used to say, today is the day when the rest of the world realizes how wonderful it is to be Irish! I am always amazed at how many people have green clothes! And a very Happy Birthday to my neighbor, Rosemary! Mercury is opposite Saturn so I won’t be telling you how old she is. And you need to be careful what YOU say, write or communicate today too as particulars or lack of them can get you into trouble or be misunderstood. Mercury is now firmly in Pisces so while he‘s FEELING what he wants to say, he may not (won‘t at all) have adequate words to express it. Mercury has a difficult aspect with Jupiter so any instructions with authorities, even your nicer authorities, are a bit fraught emotionally or prone to trouble, difficulties or misunderstandings. So double check everything even if you always USED to do it in a particular manner. Today that manner won‘t work. Sun forms an adjusting aspect to the South Node ~ a Scorpio shaped aspect so note what you see and file it away for future reference. The universe is trying to get you to let go of your old visions and see things as they really are.
Tuesday Mercury has a trine to Mars and a blind spot aspect to Pallas the planet of strategy. Again, be cautious around communications! While you may THINK you know what you are saying, Mars is still out of bounds and not behaving well at all. People are totally in the mood to be very thin skinned and sensitive about things ~ especially things you find pretty funny or humorous or treat with irreverance. Or, you may very well reveal something that the other guy has no idea about if you open your mouth and speak of it. Or, if you do open your mouth, “they” (either the listener or the one you are talking about) may be mad at you for talking about them. Or they may be mad at the other guy because you reveal their secret(s) and strategy(ies). Jupiter and Saturn are having a pow-wow today and deciding what they, as the authorities in your world, want to do about you ~ yes, little old you. Now, this can go either way, good or bad, up or down. It basically depends on how and what you‘ve been doing. There will be an opportunity to redress this issue down the road a bit but right now if the stuff goes against you, move on, move on. The big boys are in a sesquiquadrate ~ your next fix it opportunities will be on June 26, 2008 and January 30, 2009. Try and fix it now, if you can, at the very least make a pass at fixing it. Essentially, that thing you decided to do on January 21st isn’t working out quite the way you anticipated it would. It is “Time to Adjust It” ~ make sure to pronounce that in a very School Marm kind of voice. For me, it is tweaking my newsletter to better accommodate the astrological calendar rather than the one we inherited from Julius Caesar and Pope Gregory XIII. Venus wants you to partner successfully but perhaps you need to look at HOW you are partnering to get it to where you want it to be.
Wednesday clean the decks! Clear the desk! Look for stuff that you love. Get stuff out the door. Moon in Virgo has a passel of aspects that get things done. Moon is opposite Mercury and Venus suggesting that you can help them ground in a practical manner any misunderstandings from Monday or Tuesday. It is a wonderful day to find beloved, practical objects or come up with new ideas for your vision of where you are going. Organize. Structure. Vision. Do it. Do it! Venus and Vesta are trying to make you comfortable in your home and your body. If you don’t like what they are doing, make sure to let them know (gently) as they are feeling sensitive.
Thursday, Sun enters Aries beginning the New Year in the Roman calendar ~ spring is here! The Sun is balanced between the two hemispheres of earth and straddling the equator suggesting we seek a balance in our lives today too. We’ve left the purification time of Pisces and moved into the starting fire energy of the Ram. Remember the Ram is currently ruled by Mars, still out of bounds in Cancer ~ so while the Sun is happy to be in Aries, it is cautious, security conscious and liable to overreact. There are several aspects of brilliance today ~ watch for gifts from the heavens that move you along your path particularly with help in seeing something you hadn‘t quite grasped from the situation from January. Venus is in a close and possibly painful relationship with Chiron ~ assess those snarly financial matters that never seem to go completely away. Get your debts, bills, billing, money and financial situations laid out on a piece of paper before you and come up with a plan for them. There are opportunities for profound wounds around money and self/ others around variances or differences in values. We value different things ~ we have 12 different kinds of Venus to choose from! Be kind. Remember money, self value, self worth, relationships, talents, and love are all ruled by Venus. Money and love problems tend to go hand in hand. Venus is hurt today by Chiron as she seeks to find her right path, live and be adored. All she (and we) want is to be loved. But it starts with self love. Today, reality comes in and bothers Venus quite a bit. We are not necessarily feeling the love today. Venus is being caught next week by Mercury who is currently following close on her heels. Notice, notice, notice what is going on!
Friday we have a full moon at 1:31 Libra/Aries meaning both the Sun and the Moon square Pluto today as the full moon brings light to situations with partners. Get all triangle situations out into the open as best you can. The best way to deal with Pluto is to not let him manipulate the situation by doing two against one. He is going to really be manipulating things today so expect triangular situations with manipulation or sneakiness to come to the surface today. The honor and true strength of Pluto’s ability to heal and change things for the better comes when he is able to work cleanly and concisely with both parties involved, in the same room and on the same page. Left to his own options, Pluto prefers to drop the energy down into the decay and muck. Keep pulling it up. Consciousness is what we are seeking here. Evolution out of the muck and mud. Leverage it towards a healthy outcome. No gotchas or gloating. It is about partnering with your own and their own higher versions and visions of what can be. Gotta own your part of the deal too. Saturn’s day is fabulous, simply fabulous for cleaning out the house and partnering with Venus in a fine way to get things beautiful and in order. Venus is in Pisces so she‘s ruling the Libra Moon. Go out or stay in, it is a lovely day to connect. Make an effort to reach out to folks you may not have spoken with in a bit. Wish them a Happy Spring! Spring back into their life!
Sunday features a very long, almost all day, void moon as Christians celebrate Easter and the resurrection of the Lord around the world. Moon is in fine aspect to both Jupiter and Neptune suggesting expansion of the waistbands as delicious food is consumed at family gatherings as well as church, sermons, and good music. Mercury is having his words with Chiron. What ever Venus and Chiron were fighting or arguing about on Thursday, Mercury will attempt to make amends today. Be kind. There are many aspects of stress today so even though the moon is void, it might be a good idea to keep your more controversial thoughts or critical words and not so kind ideas to yourself. Celebrate instead a vision of what can be when you work on it and share with each other from a place of love. It is SO easy to find fault with others. It is SO easy to say an unkind word. It is SO possible to NOT love or care. My friend Karen wrote an email about her grandsons, both aged 4, “I wanted to tell you that I put Willie on the phone with Oliver and they had a nice long conversation, and then Willie, totally unprompted, ended with "I love you," and I could hear Ollie saying "I love you" back. I have a lot of hope in this generation.” So ride that Neptune vision of yours towards your best life. And take advantage of the Moon in Libra to tell the folks in your world that you love them. Time is short. Life is short. Celebrate love.
Mundane: Well last week was a good week for most of us but not so good a week for Eliot Spitzer, the now former Governor of New York State. Mr. Spitzer (June 10, 1959, possible 9:47 pm source unknown, Bronx, NY) was elected Governor in 2006 as “Mr. Clean” ~ befitting his Pluto in Virgo trine to his Saturn in Capricorn opposite his Gemini Mercury ruler of his Gemini Sun. He’d spent a number of years as a Federal Prosecutor and as an elected State Attorney General, going after the financial folks on Wall Street who were doing bad things with the money of the little people. Spitzer brought a particular zest and zealousness to his work as a crime buster and avenger/ defender of the little guy and dragon slayer of those who sought to defraud the little guy. Righteousness would be a good word for Eliot ~ suitable for Pluto in Sagittarius. Righteousness is not so good a word now that Pluto is in Capricorn.
Eliot wasn‘t particularly “nice” to the folks he caught ~ perp walks, trial by media, lots of leaks, bullying, tough sentencing threats and an out of control personal aggressiveness (Venus, Mars, Moon and Uranus in Leo square to Neptune in Scorpio and inconjunct to his Saturn in Capricorn trine to his Pluto in Virgo). The Sheriff of Wall Street made errant money men quake in their boots. Folks often pled guilty and paid big fines rather than fight him. A notable exception was Maurice (Hank) Greenberg, the former President of AIG and a Marine who doesn’t back away from a fight without taking a piece of your skin or a bite out of your ear. Greenberg and Eliot basically called it a draw after a fairly protracted battle. It was great spectacle ~ watching the various titans battling away with Eliot. Perhaps Eliot was a bit out of control at times but it was all forgiven as he fought for integrity and valued the little guy who most others ignored. It was quite fun for many years! The charts were simply fascinating. And, of course, Eliot Spitzer made many, many, many enemies.
Eliot decided he wanted to run for Governor. There were rumors that maybe he might even become the first Jewish President in 2012! Some of his largest campaign contributors WERE the financial folks and institutions he had hunted so vigorously. They wanted Eliot as Governor and OUT of the job of Attorney General with the ability to ‘specially prosecute’ their crimes and misdemeanors! They paid big bucks so Eliot got a brand new job. New York state voters gave him the Governor’s office with an unprecedented 70% of the vote.
The heavens turned and the planets moved into new positions. Pluto moved into Capricorn and Saturn entered rule-following, fussy Virgo. Saturn and Pluto came to reverse their positions ~ yet another trine in earth ~ but now transiting Saturn was on Eliot’s natal Pluto and transiting Pluto was on Eliot’s natal Saturn. Eliot had trouble from the minute he became Governor! There were new rules to follow in the game of Governor ~ you have to get along with folks! Time to play nicely with others! Prosecutor’s rules don’t work well. Transiting Pluto was opposite his Mercury in Gemini. Governors need to gather and cooperate to govern effectively. Pluto pushing his power trip energy opposite Eliot’s natal Mercury in Gemini meant all sorts of Pluto tricks took place whenever Eliot tried to boss folks around or do “power over” prosecutor tricks. The force was no longer with him! Transiting Uranus was squaring his Gemini Sun. Every time Eliot tried to do anything, that darned Uranus in Pisces reversed the energy on him and screwed things up, royally.
Eliot ran up against Joe Bruno, a heavy duty old Pol, 30 years his senior, (sounds like Saturn and Pluto to me). Bruno runs the New York State Senate and the State Republican Party with an Iron Fist in an Iron Glove. Spitzer tracked Bruno’s travels (Gemini) via the State Troopers (Sagittarius) and it backfired on him. Spitzer wouldn’t release his emails (Gemini). Spitzer hunkered down for a fight, a very bad use of his Saturn in Capricorn trine to his Pluto in Virgo. Eliot was not doing his Saturn! It got nasty. During the entire recent Mars in Gemini retrograde process, Eliot tried, failed (miserably) and finally gave up on illegal immigrants (Pluto in Sadge) getting driver‘s licenses (Gemini in Mercury) so they could drive with auto insurance. Eliot’s approval ratings were the exact reverse of his election results (from only a year and a half ago), only 29% of the state thought he was doing a good job.
So this week, the news breaks, as Uranus gets back to the station degree from last June, and aggressively moves to square Eliot‘s Gemini Sun as well as a number of his solar arced planets in the middle degrees of Virgo, that Mr. Clean paid nearly $5,000 for a single session a high priced call girl! (Note to self: I AM, most definitely, in the wrong business!) And it wasn’t just one call girl! Apparently, on many occasions, in many places, Eliot had business arrangements with women in the world's oldest profession! The FBI had wire taps and text messages of Eliot arranging sessions, bickering over payments and the credit balance on his account. The FBI has him on the Mann act for transporting prostitutes across state lines ~ his Valentine’s Day hooker traveled from New York to Washington on the train. Prostitution is illegal in New York State, so they have him doing illegal stuff with his body parts ~although we don‘t often prosecute the Johns ~ only the Janes and their Pimps.
We know Eliot’s desires were probably a bit “kinky” as he’s got Uranus involved with his Mars, Moon and Venus in Leo, all of them square to his Neptune in Scorpio ~ they probably involve body fluids, all of them, including the darker ones, smearing, exploding or spattering (see Uranus and unusual), combined with domination and/or humiliation. There is money laundering involved. He cleaned up the name on the money paid and used various accounts. It wasn‘t done in his name. He broke the money into small parts so the banks wouldn’t notice. No plunking down his American Express credit card to pay for his desires proudly! Eliot resigned with nary a charge filed, a deal with the prosecutors sealed or even acknowledging why he was leaving us so soon. He folded up his tent and walked away. The traders on Wall Street cheered when they heard the news.
Of course, the part NOT covered by the media is the one I am most interested in. I do have a lot of Scorpio in my chart. WHY NOW? Eliot’s been doing his hooker thing for 8 to 10 years. Last year, he spent $80,000, of his own money, indulging and meeting his specific sexual needs. Besides, most politicians, to simply BE a politician, have AN ENORMOUS MARS energy that they work with! They want, and seek, the BIG power with those big, big, big Mars of theirs! Mars rules all competitions, especially winning the big, big, big ones that give you big, big, big power, as well as that pesky big, big, big sex drive. There is NO WAY the FBI, to say nothing of the powers that be in the Republican and the Democratic parties didn’t know about Eliot’s appetites. So why this particular political hit at this particular time?
So, I watched the news, carefully. Two things caught my attention while the media was obsessed 24/7 with Eliot’s adventures as Client 9. First, the Federal Reserve Bank bailed out the fourth largest investment bank, Bear Stearns. The Fed thought Bear Stearns might fail. The stock markets danced in response. The US central bank voted to endorse an arrangement to help Bear Stearns overcome a liquidity crunch. Bear Stearns got an emergency loan from JPMorgan Chase in co-ordination with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The Fed pledged "to provide liquidity as necessary to promote the orderly functioning of the financial system". The banks are starting to fail ~ hmmm sounds like what happened in the Great Depression! And, Eliot Spitzer, the FORMER Sheriff of Wall Street, isn’t around to wave his big old Mars gun around when the Feds decided to take care of the bankers in this most unusual and unprecedented manner. Eliot has ridden out of town and left us to deal with the collapse of the financial markets all by ourselves.
Second, Admiral William Fallon, the US military commander in charge of Middle East operations resigned. Fallon took an early retirement! The US government has denied it is preparing to take military action against Iran before George Bush's term as president expires. The White House denied reports that Admiral William Fallon was quitting because of differences with Bush over Iran. A recent article in Esquire magazine said Fallon was opposed to the US using force against Iran over its nuclear program. Simultaneously: 1) there is a dispatch of US warships to Lebanon's coast, including an Aegis guided missile destroyer which could provide cover for Israel if Iran responds to an attack by firing missiles at Israel. 2) Dick Cheney took a trip this weekend to the Middle East. The vice-president, the leading hawk in the White House on Iran, will visit Saudi Arabia, whose support would be needed before any strike could be contemplated, and Oman, a US key military ally and logistics hub strategically situated to control the vital Strait of Hormuz. 3) Shimon Peres, the Israeli president, said Israel would not act alone to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, a change in language that could signal that the White House has told Israel it is prepared to act in concert with it militarily.
We do live in interesting times! As for Eliot? Not to worry. Uranus is moving him to his “correct path” ~ whatever that may be. When you have a very disruptive Uranus transit, I think it is the Universe’s way of getting you back onto your path! And Saturn trine Pluto, reversed right now in his chart, is resetting that hubris scale back into balance. Eliot does have a lot of Leo so he started to believe his own press. The South Node, rolling backwards through Leo, has a way of balancing things out, via endings or losses. However, Eliot’s North Node in Libra says “I’ll be back!”
Eliot’s supposed to partner with us little folks (and lead us ~ after all, he is a Leo) in unusual ways! Eliot has a locomotive chart ~ no one can keep a “f***ing steamroller” down (for long), even with a $4,000 sex scandal wafting like cheap perfume behind him! We WILL have to WAIT for Eliot until Pluto gets past 6 Capricorn and stops setting off that nasty inconjunct between his Venus/Mars in Leo Fire and his Saturn in Capricorn Earth. Scorched earth is never a pleasant experience while the fires are burning! But AFTER the fires, the burned trees and former foliage make for luxurious and beautiful new growth forests. After a bit of time passes, and once Pluto goes on to bother some one else, Eliot will rejoin us. Right now, he is indisposed and hanging out with Pluto and Saturn.
And, NONE of it, not a single bit of it, including the jokes on TV, the fabulous and funny Post headlines and the photoshopped internet emails, minimizes, diminishes or reduces, AT ALL, the GREAT GOOD, ENORMOUS and PROFOUND SERVICE that Eliot Spitzer performed for the citizens of this COUNTRY! Eliot wasn‘t working only for the citizens of New York State! Eliot took on the power brokers and money folks on Wall Street. He tackled the messes and arrested the people that no one else touched because they were afraid of them or working with them. When Eliot was the Sheriff of Wall Street, he made them think twice before they stole or did bad things to us! We, the little folks, are on our own now! We‘ll have to stick together! Our Sheriff is gone for the time being while our government is working to protect the same Wall Street guys who cheered when the Sheriff resigned.
