idk, usually the conversation drifts to our interests and then I say "Oh, I'm really into astrology" and then they act all curious and I get a birth date and time out of them and tell them I'll do their natal charts.People love it because everyone likes hearing about themselves. IP: Logged |

When bringing up astrology i usually guess it first. After i know that theyre approachable ill talk to them for a bit, and when something they do is very much like there sun sign, (for example, i was at a teenage leo's house awhile ago and he looked at a picture of himself on the wall and asked me, "arent I handsome?") i say something like, "that is such a *sign* thing to say! and take it from there. i get responses from, "Why??", very intrigued, to "oh..you believe in that stuff?" as if im a witch. usually i can play around with it for awhile though, especially since my best friend(gemini sun virgo asc aries moon) loves to talk about it as well.------------------ sun - gemini moon - libra asc. - scorpio IP: Logged |

Hehe i have a whole system, especially when it comes to asking for their time of birth. That one is the hardest. I usually say I am doing a research project on whether people born in the evening or morning are more introverted or extroverted and then ask for their time. Most ppl just give it------------------ Sun-Gemini Moon-Scorpio ASC-Libra IP: Logged |

Bud,Don't you find that some people are resistant to astrolgy and refuse to say there Bday?? I end up turning to facebook to find out the Bday of the people I'm intrested in. I add them and I find out, everyone either has a facebook or a myspace. IP: Logged |

Normally, I wouldn't really start talking about astrology, as normally people would think of it as junk talk or they are only slightly interested about what it says about their compatibility with their special ones. ^_^; Personally, I see astrology as a tool for better understanding about psychology and other stuffs, as its symbolism is based on human psychology and etc. (and this system of symbolism is really beautiful too ^_^ ), but I guess that people who never got interested in it wouldn't really understand this. ^_~;So normally I'd just talk a bit about someone's Sun/Moon/AC sign when we ask for each other's bday, or just help other people to take a look at their compatibility with their special ones. When someone starts talks like "astrology is nonsense or junk", normally I wouldn't care as I'm often too lazy to start debating with other people (it's their own problem to not to go understand things better before talking about it :P but well, sometimes we can't also blame them as there are indeed lotsa "astrology junks" such as signs previsions and fake astrologers that gave a negative image to the overall astrology), unless the other person is a close friend or starts to exaggerate. I like to read the paper. If I'm sitting with some people whose signs I already know along with some unknown people, I'll skim through the horoscopes of the people I know and read them their horoscopes. Usually, the people whose signs I don't know will ask me to read theirs. I then ask them what it is :-)I also tend to just put it out there casually, when I first meet someone. I'll ask them what they like when I'm trying to get to know them; I'll mention astrology. Usually they'll either ask my sign, I'll tell them, and then I will ask for their sign. Sometimes, I'll just say what my sign is and ask them what theirs is. IP: Logged |

*Oh, and another thing: I've found in my travels that Europeans and Canadians are more open to astrology than are Americans are (maybe because Americans are more religious). The French especially are into astrology (I didn't meet one French person while living there who wasn't interested) and they know their Chinese sign and usually some of their planets when you ask them; in France it's usually an OK thing to bring up.IP: Logged |

Yeah... Normally I astrosnoop by asking b-days first, but there has been the rare occasion when I just come out with it and ask the person... Or I'll talk about it with one of my other friends who is into astrology right in front of that person. Even some of my friends who haven't bought into it fully have wanted to have their charts done.I was very bold one time and told this guy that he was a Gemini... And I was right, and he looked at me like I was an alien, like: "How the hell did you know that?" lol. ------------------ Virgo Sun/Aries Moon/Scorpio Rising IP: Logged |
