Virgo

A sign I have come to love. Maybe since I gave birth to one ~ his Sun CNJ Venus sits on my M.C. A handsome little fella, and there is a needed spot in the house for someone who likes things neat and in order. He likes books, which is good, I'm a librarian.

On the "Virgo - barren sign?" thread a comment was made that the sign of Virgo gets an unnecessarily hard time on Lindaland. So I thought: why not redress the balance? There is good and bad in every sign. So let's give it up for the good bits about the sign of Virgo.

Here are some of my thoughts:

NEAT & ORDERLY

Like I said I work in a library. It's got to be neat and everything in it's place. Or no-one will find anything. Got to get details right when getting book details set up on databases or, well, no-one will be able to find them.

USEFUL & PURPOSEFUL

It's not a fun library. People are using it to train as nurses, to research into new cancer treatments. It's useful. So are Virgos.

ARTISTIC

Many years ago I had a boyfriend who was a talented artist. He wasn't a Virgo, he was a Gemini (I think?) but anyway, he had a theory that there were two types of artist: those that had good ideas and those that were good technically. Nice neat little pictures was how he put it. If that sounds disparaging, he included himself in that number.

This makes me thing: Virgo. Mars in Virgo is an artistic placement. I know a few people with this and all of them have some kind of creative flair - my childhood friend I used to sit and draw with is now a professional photographer. Got some of his work on my wall.

ROUTINE & DISCIPLINE

It may be boring, but it gets things done. Young kids like routine and discipline, it makes them feel safe to know there are boundaries and things are going to happen at a set time, like bed-time, say.

HEALTH & HYGIENE

Never once have I had to shout at my Virgo son about cleaning his teeth. He wants to clean them! He's right, leave it for a couple of days and the germs will mutliply. There's no need to be obsessive, but think of all the dirt-related deaths throughout history and there is a big point in it.

PERFECTIONISM

Live with a Virgo Rising (and I do) and you might find this irritating sometimes. But there are plenty of cirucmstances where it is helpful and even vital. Like if you are brain surgeon, for example. A millimetre of error and the person on the table could be paralysed for life. You can't afford to take a casual approach. Being a perfectionist martinet is exactly what you want. Well, I would if if was my head, any way.

DETAILS

Details can make a difference. Say, organising a wedding. I did my own and focused on making sure the legal paperwork was in order and booking the venue. My mother - Mars in Virgo - took care of flowers, cakes, table decorations. Details I wouldn't have paid much attention to but I'm sure the guests appreciated.

My sister-in-law - also Virgo Mars - attacked me with make-up and would have done the same with my hair but I wore a hat which solved that one.

I'm really a perfectionist with 3 planets in virgo sun venus and mercury. Sometimes I even think I am training beneath my level.

My friend's husband is a Virgo. I was round their house last summer, looking for a glass to get some water and came across this most beautiful pottery teaset. It was earthy-coloured and had a crackle glaze on half of it, an aqua colour.

I said to my friend how exquisite it was and asked her where she'd bought it. She said 'Oh no, Terry made that' and when I when 'You what?' she said 'Yes, he lived in the Czech republic for a few years, liked the traditional pottery there, so learned the language, apprenticed himself to a local potter who he got on with and learned how to make it himself'.

I had no idea he'd ever lived in the Czech Republic, spoke Czech, and had learned how to become a potter. And not just any potter, he learned a dying tradition and executed it to perfection. And then just put it away carefully in the cupboard.

I think that says it all about Virgos.
Nice thread Blue. Virgos rock.

Thank you Blue Moon, this is soothing...

I have Sun/Uranus/Pluto in Virgo, (Sun and Uranus in conjuntion).

My lovers and friends have told me these things:

You are beautiful, kind and generous, open and fun to be with, energetic, amazingly perceptive, intelligent, and a very interesting, deeply feeling passionate woman.

I feel that it true. The realization has not come easily...

It so saddens me that eventhough I am Virgo Sun, these nice qualities are astrologically explained by the fact that I have Leo ASC, Moon&Venus conjunction in Libra, Mars in Scorpio and Jupiter in Gemini... You get my point? When there is something nice in Virgos, it's explained by the other signs they have...

But I AM VIRGO, period. And I lost my virginity when I was a teenager. And I make PASSIONATE love with my Aqua man. Wait, that cannot be... I am Virgo, so I'm not supposed to have a good sexlife... and especially with an Aqua... Maybe I'm just dreaming... But I AM NOT DREAMING.

More often than not, if I flat out ADORE someone, they turn out to be a Virgo. If not a Virgo Sun, they have their Asc &/or many personal planets in Virgo.

I love, lust, respect, admire, etc. many people who aren't Virgos, of course. But there's this gentle, warm, adoring buzz that the Virgos I like inspire in me.

I find them hilarious. I think I'd take a funny Virgo over a funny person of any other sign. This is probably because I have my Jupiter in Virgo. I'm working with a Virgo now who makes me laugh all the time. He also has a Virgo Venus that's conjunct my Mars & Jupiter; that must add to the chemistry.

Maybe it's because they touch my Jupiter and make me laugh so much, that I feel more Sag with them (my Sun sign) than I do with any other sign (besides other Sag Suns/Moons). They bring out that side of me. Also, b/c I know they're so responsible and detail-oriented, things my Sag Sun isn't but other things in my chart are, I can relax knowing they have all that covered and I can just be my carefree Sag self.

Perfectionism can make someone too critical, but if they have it under control, I enjoy their conscientiousness. I work very well with Virgos. They're innately driven to do their best, not for the glory it will bring but b/c they respect the work itself. I find that refreshing and, probably b/c of all my own Virgo, share that philosophy.

The Virgos I love are entertaining conversationalists. Being ruled by Mercury, they know how to tell a story and have a quick mind. They have an appealing understated charm, and a realism that often comes through in sarcasm and dry humor. The ones I know all have a quirky streak; really wild things come out of their mouths.

Possibly what I love most: Virgo males have this adorable way of shaking their @ss when they dance. Give me a dance floor and I'll be able to pick out the Virgos.

Morning Blue!

I love Virgos. I searched for a great thread about Virgos started a while back, but couldn't find it. Here is a different list from a relationship perspective from this thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/002733.html .

- Love starts in the eyes for these people. Make eye-contact. Frequently. Genuinely.

- Be a little subtle. No overt flirting.

- Be ready to put your thinking-caps on. Be prepared with smart quips, and be well-read and aware of relevant things. A lot of Virgos are into politics.

- It would not hurt if you can cook/bake and happen to give him a taste... lol These people appreciate home-made things.

- They don't care much for frivolties; if you want to give a gift, give something meaningful yet PRACTICAL. Hand-made is even better.

- A little softness/gentleness doesn't do any harm, but don't be a door-mat.

- An added bonus if you're emotionally stable and seem very "put-together."

- Be humble around these people. Don't brag. Be genuine.

- Compliment them when they deserve it. They can spot flattery easily. If you genuinely compliment them, chances are, they'll ALWAYS remember it. Ladies, these men have an AMAZING capacity in the cerebral regions that deal with memory. If they're interested in you, they'll remember EVERYTHING! (Which means, be careful of what you reveal, 'cause that Virgo brain will process, file, and remember ALL of that!!!)

- Ever heard of projecting your own feelings on others? These men are pegged with wanting perfection...but have you thought of perhaps how inadequate they may themselves feel?

- The key to loosen a little bit of the perfectionism is for them to realize that their own "imperfections" are okay and human to have. This need for perfectionism, I think stems from their need for security. And by making him feel secure with his own insecurities and "faults" you'll not only make him a more "human" individual (and not the robot some may think he is! lol) AND you'll have an easier time.

8th

My own mini list:

Virgos are:

Lifelong friends
Hysterically funny
Loyal
Dependable
Protective of those they love
Helpful
Handy with Bleach
Generous
Smart
Organized
Perceptive
Caring

Yes! This is so true. I appreciate this in someone else b/c I'm like that myself. Usually, I downplay this b/c my memory can freak others out with its stalker-like attention to detail or give them the wrong impression (that I'm into them), but Virgos get that that's just the way my memory works in general.

My Virgo brother is like that too. He remembers details that most people wouldn't even notice and can quote conversations from years earlier practically verbatim.

Lots of love for Virgo, that's good.

Virgo=quality.

If a thing is worth doing it's worth doing well.

Nothing incompatible between that and sexuality.

Thanks guys.

I am Virgo Sun and Venus.

It is nice to read this today. Nicely synchronized because I needed to hear my good qualities instead of what I have been hearing about these same qualities.

I love their command of words. They are delightfully my opposite. Whereas I strip down every communication (Mercury opposite Saturn), Virgos are wonderfully verbose and are often intellectual enough to not be boring or annoying.

i've read that virgos (as which i am one and totally agree) that we are the preverbial "lady on the street freak in the bed" we hold ourselves in society as being put together, detail oriented, perfectionists...but behind closed doors were goofy, experimental, opininated, closet sex freaks. and we can out geisha a geisha (as linda says in Love Signs).
lana wouldn't you agree tho...aquas and virgos probably have THE strongest sexual pull of any 6-8 vibration. i too am a virgo with leo rising and my hubby is a double aqua. love the aquas (only ones who can identify with the virgos feeling of being from a different planet then the rest of the earthlings)
us virgos find what makes our mates happy, tick, the buttons we can push within the first few dates and then use them to our advantage...manipulative? NO we just need to make sure the one we pick does not have any reason to leave us, and usually they don't (helps with our obsession of being needed and wanted to fix everything)...problem with that tho is we just get bored with them once they are fixed and become comfortable...a catch 22 for us, but never boring
that is why aquas are a good match because they keep us guessing.

some strengths of virgos...witty especially with words, always polite, clean and hygenic, always there if needed, fabulous listeners, good work ethic...very hard working...we can make good leaders but best at being the MAN or WOMAN behind the scenes

pluto, mars, sun, mercury in virgo
neptune, jupiter, venus in scorpio
moon in aries
saturn in taurus
asc in leo

Taurus, Scorpio and Capricorn get all the points for tenacity, but the truth is, it's Virgo who never quits. Not until everything's perfect or as perfect as it can get.

Im a scorpio sun, virgo moon and I understand tenacity. Basically, the only person I know who can compete with me here is one of my best friends, who is a Virgo sun.

Virgo males seem to have a sensitivity that I admire.

They are unassumingly sweet!!! I had a dear Virgo friend who was completing her high school here (years and years ago), she is originally from France. She can be so nitpicky and very squared...but she will surprise you with being so sweet when you are feeling down, she's a great conversationalist when you just want to talk and was great with shopping trips. Plus, she was very straight to the point which I loved, because I hate sugar coating on anything.

Indeed, virgoleorising ;-) (Actually, to be quite truthful, my Aqua is the only Aquarius I've felt sexually drawn to (with the exception of some actors like Christian Bale). But with my Aqua it's just very very good... Okay, enough about those guys in a Virgo thread).

This thread about Virgos has been so nice, finally something positive, I feel much stronger after these posts :-))
Thank you guys for this bit of sunshine and appreciation :-)

My mom is a Virgo.

1. She is considered most intelligent person in the family.

2. I can run over her all the time, but she never complains, she is so tolerant.

3. She loves me and family unconditionally.

4. Even if it is not necessary, she will wake up at 6.30AM and work till 10.00PM organizing our house, kitchen, cook etc. This has been happening for 25 years. Where else do you find this type of dedication for a family?

5. When she visits me, she remembers all the things I like to eat and do. She always has that List Ready! :-)

6. My 'Stupid' Taurus dad is lucky because he always finds peace in her company.

7. She is gorgeous and almost every pic we take on camera, she is smiling. She looks 10 years younger for her age.

One of my best friends is a Virgo.

1. When in need, I can rely on him more than anyone else.

2. He lent me money in past, not in expecation of boosting his Ego or anything. But it was with a genuine help.

3. I know he helps others in family and his parents however he can.

4. He finds satisfaction in himself only after he can help someone.

=======
VIRGOS ARE SELFLESS. IF YOU'VE GOT ONE IN YOUR LIFE, THEN TRESURE THEM AND APPRECIATE THEM. THEY WILL ALWAYS BE ON YOUR SIDE.
