--I'm happiest when I approach life with an optimistic, open-minded attitude. When I don't focus too much on dichotomies of good-bad, painful-pleasurable, etc. but instead see life as a learning experience. Staying open to adventure. (Sag Sun)
--When I stick to my principles and goals and don't screw up. And when I forgive myself for when I do screw up. (Scorpio Asc?)
--Accomplishment. Tracking it and recognizing it. (10th house Leo Moon)
--Getting an unexpected pocket of free time to do whatever I want. (Moon square Uranus)
--Travel. All aspects of it: doing it, planning it, daydreaming about it, reading guide books, and watching travel shows.
--Making mischief. The birth of the idea tickles me (I have to hide my smile if I'm in company to keep the plan secret), I enjoy the preparation it entails, and then acting it out. (Venus trine Jupter/Uranus in 1st)
--Food. Especially mussels, Lombardi's pizza, sushi, and brownies. 
--Reading. Writing. (Venus in 3rd) Movies. TV. Plays. Music.
--Learning. Studying the subjects I love.
--Physically active. I run nearly every day. (Mars conj Jupiter)
--Random hobbies: ping pong, drawing, pool, cooking, dancing.
--Being outside. (Sag)
--Night swimming. (Pisces on the 5th? no idea)
--No electricity evenings. Pretending the power got turned off and only using candles. (Growing up poor.  )
--Fire. With a little more stress in my life, I could happily become a pyromaniac. (Fire sun and moon)
--Personal hygiene. (Much Virgo)  I love to get squeaky clean and then use my favorite lotions. (Or I get the hose again. "I'd do me.")
--Dusk.
--Rain. Prefer to be in bed listening to it. Like to be out in the sunshine.IP: Logged |

Chatting with my sister who is a Sag always makes me happy, especially when we get out of control and end up laughing our ***** off.Music, dancing, singing, walking/spending time in nature, or working out, having a cup of tea when it's really cold outside make me happy too. Books and movies usually have some negative melancholic aspect that activates my reason and my reason doesn't like me being happy, lol ! IP: Logged |

I have been looking at this thread for a while and I was surprised that I couldn't think of one thing that makes me happy... and then I realized that it wasn't anything tangible and that its a feeling instead.I am happiest when I can exercise my freedom without fear. What I mean is: I am happy when I don't have to walk on eggshells around people, when everyone is just transparent and no one is afraid of rejection, making someone angry unintentionally etc. I like just being. *When my son is happy and being his normal, lovely, inquisitive self! Uranus in Sagittarius - a singleton in the 5th House.*Feeling completely free. Aquarius Moon, 11th House Sun/Chiron/North Node. *Sunny weather with a bit of a breeze. Leo Ascendant. *When I look good! Leo Ascendant, again!!! *Good food, Good music, Good sex!!! exclude the ones from relationship to others? that's hard! i think my happiness comes from doing things that i like, that will be appreciated by others. like making presents, cooking, helping the people who i really love. making love too. even walking in a pretty forest feels happier if i'm with a special someone/people. but that hasn't happened for a long time...nice thread, it made me realize that it's very hard to find something that makes me happy, that i can do only for myself. My own happiness comes from within and it is my choice if I want to be happy or miserable. Nobody of nothing has that kind of power over me in regards to my happiness.
A nice song comes on the radio and I enjoy the moment - my perception of the song colors things.

Yes, Innerdepths.. l think it takes a big jolt of a lesson to realize and implement this philosophy. All l know is that never again will anyone own me/dictate my happiness to me/nor use me as a mat.
"Keeping it simple" is THE most important lesson in life l think. By keeping it simple you naturally look at yourself first and are able to just BE you, in your own skin without all this complexity that other's seem to thrive off! - get out of your head and into your heart - IP: Logged |
