I can't notice that there are a few Aries Rising among LLers. I am, for one.

I feel my rising sign gives me energy to get things done - helps combat my unenergetic Libra Mars

What impact does it have in your life?

Well Koiflower, I'm glad you asked this as I have been meaning to ask this question to the other Ram Risers on here.

As for you being mars in libra, that's interesting. I've often wondered what this would do to an aries rising, probably adds a lot of beauty. Heather Locklear also has this placement.

For me, it manifests in many ways. Its incredibly important to me that I am aries AC. I think it carries me and saves my chart. My chart is full of very weak planets, a lot detriments etc so I think that being an Aries Rising can counterbalance to some extent other issues in me. In a way, I feel I am a hyper-aries rising sometimes because jupiter sits on my asc and must exaggerate these qualities.

My mars is in Gem/3rd house, so I express my rising particularly when I speak. I can be very verbally aggressive and verbally very nasty when I am angry. I'm not proud that I can drive people to tears when I get stuck into someone. I also can feel the anger immensely in me when I get angry and my anger can stay with me for years unlike aries (I think its the aqu sun). However, I am libran moon so I try not to get angry and a lot of the time, I feel very guilty about it.

In hindsight as a child, I was very aries rising like. Incredibly curious and driven to know the world. I was never sports minded but in school, I wanted to come first. If I didn't come first, then I'd try to be the first to do something (eg presenting things in class). I was always very ambitious to be someone as well and still have some ambition (cap MC, sun 10th). My partner also says that I still have a chlldlike curiousity and wonderment of the world. I love to explore a lot too.

As for what I project, I try not to be assertive too much when I meet people for the first time. I think I might just get in people's faces sometimes and frighten them. I have been told that I can be very scary and an angry b*itch when people don't know me well but I think people's opinions change when they get to know me and probably think I'm the absolute opposite (libran moon). I think people though often why I get so passionate and worked up about things, I get incredibly ardent about music and books etc. I feel I am rather lusty too. Also people say I appear strong and if not "perfect" (yes I've been told that lol!), a lot of it has to do with this feeling of confidence I must project. I do hide my weaknesses and fears a lot, I like to look tough to the world. Little do people know how I quiver internally.

And otherwise, I do look like an aries rising, classically so with maybe a bit of modulation. I do have the downturned mouth, triangular face, reddish hair , have the McDonalds sign on my face and eagle eyes and relatively athletic body, tallish. I also wear a lot of red (my favourite colour) and drive very fast. I walk relatively fast for a girl and get annoyed with people that get in my way, particularly at the shops or in the mall. Otherwise, my mars in gemini gives me a smallish mouth (not as broad as other aries rising) and eyebrows that are very high above my eyes.

So I guess, despite its down sides, I'm happy that I am one.

i know my aries ascendant should fuel my aries sun, mercury and venus - but somehow i'm just not very arien. people always think i'm a libran. i don't even look like an aries. apparently, i look like a libran! i'm letting the team down! lol!

the only thing i can say for sure about my aries ascendant with my aries sun is that you get what you get - there's no facade or outer persona - what you get is the real me - all of the time.

PA - I think your 1st is bombarded with so many planets in the first it must modulate your look a lot. I had an issue where I had to figure out someone's asc whose first house was packed too and it makes it hard.

Lara - that's why I try to at least look at every post on here about appearances and risings. After a while, you'll see some startling developments and trends when you look at faces a lot. I've got Aries ac nailed. I think I can spot one a mile away now. Even if someone has has mars in the 1st, they eyes are martian (eg Catherine Zeta-Jones, sag rising, mars in 1st). I'm still working on the other signs though. It's a very long project in the making.

Excellent Kaira!! Your Libran Mars must make you an absolute Goddess

I would like to post a couple of pics to show my Arian look, but blow-me-down, my photos come out HUGE!!!!

Thanks for the piccies 23!! Also thanks for your description of your nature. I was once described as 'aggressive' years ago, by a group of peers. This left me feeling gutted because I thought I was a very gentle person, but had drive, determination, confidence, and forthrightness. I felt really sad that thats how they viewed my wonderful Arian Asc nature.

I used to own a red car! Loved it! I drive a little on the fast side, until I hit the legal speed zone! Take-off from green lights is my speciality

Do you folk have 'an Arian scar' on your face, by chance? Mine is on my left cheek.

Well Koi - I wouldn't listen to them, If they can't take the heat, tell them to get out of the kitchen! An aries rising that isn't a go-getter has something wrong with them.

No scars on my face. I have a few on my hands - mars in gem/3rd. Just bad skin/big pores

I do have a "beauty spot" under one of my eyes though.

I've always been sorta confused with my Aries rising...

I am definitely "curious" and I'm a passionate learner. I tend to get obsessed with one subject and then research all of the sub-topics... a few months ago I couldn't read enough Mount Everest stories, then I moved onto stories about avalanches, then ice crevises... it was absurd! I'm definitely full of questions, for everyone, hungry to learn and debate...

As for confidence... I don't think I've ever been described as aggressive or assertive, if anything, I should learn to be more assertive, my reactions to things are ususally "eh, whatever, i don't wanna make a scene".

As for confidence, I would say I'm definitely self-assured. It's taken awhile, but I think I'm in touch with who I am, and I think that really radiates with people, and sort of intimidates others... I get a lot of "looks" from people, my friends love to point it out and make jokes, and while I used to get defensive, now I've just learned to appreciate it...

My most "Arian" trait would be my impatience with time... I'm very patient with people, a good listener...but as for driving, getting things done, I need it instantly. I'm definitely an "instant gratification" girl, and I'm really impulsive sometimes...

Physically, I tend to have the same smallish button nose as Arians... someone once asked me who my "surgeon" was, ha! It fits my small face though. And the reddish hair, yep... scar under my chin from a bad fall when I was about 5.

I am an aries rising with libra mars too.
I am short tempered, but immediately libra characteristics kick in and I try to maintain balance.

aries rising is on your mars unfortunately bit too strong for a libra sign i guess. So, the follow up is prob not there.

I do have an explosive temper
I have mars conj uranus, venus square mars and mars sextile jupiter.
So, you guys shud look at the aspects as well.

My best friend has pisces sun, aries rising, and cancer moon. WOW> She is something else. When she walks in the house we joke "here comes the hurricane." Her tarot card says the chariot with no destination, and this is so true. When riding in the car with her I say my prayers. She darts around cars, cursing the drivers in her way. When we get in arguments, she starts crying (water signs!) and suddenly leaves, leaving dust behind. She has been fired from jobs for her mouth, and no one seems to know how to take her. But its ok, she'll just find another job, no big deal. She moves constantly, from neighborhood to neighborhood, or city to city. We never know where she may be next. If she finds interest in a man, she'll find something wrong with him and move on to the next with no problem. (aries pickiness.) She loves a good debate, and doesnt mind putting her two cents in; her mouth is unforgettable. She's funny as hell, and we love her dearly. No doubt with these water signs, the aries rising saves her as well.

Ahh.... my favorite new thread!

It's been awhile, since I've just pretty much 'surfed' these forums but barely contributed or posted. That'll change now in this thread though I gotta run right now and can't afford to put more than just a short post here.

quote:
I used to own a red car! Loved it! I drive a little on the fast side, until I hit the legal speed zone! Take-off from green lights is my speciality

You hit the nail right on the head!!!!

Glad to hear it's not just me.

I never really thought about why I always do that, but I guess it's the same as other aspects of life. You want to and in some cases almost need to be first. So, no wonder, we press our foot firmly and strongly on the gas pedal almost even 1 sec before the light makes the transition from yellow to ----> green, so we are the first car out of the stationary bunch among us and get a head-start or feeling of finishing the race ahead of others... hahaha
silly **** .. but it's funny and yeh I almost always do it and get a rush from it.

Got a lot more to say but will leave that for later.
--------------------------

One thing I've noticed here though is how all of you Aries ASC bunch seem to be women! Any guys out there like me?
I don't know how great or bad it is to have it as a woman (some of you seem to have been offended when someone called you out on your assertive/aggressive nature), but it DEFINITELY helps and has some major benefits as a man.

Oh, I think it works for both genders, ie the the "major benefits". In relation to our looks, we're probably not what is considered the best looking out of the rising but there is not doubt we are HOT, or the HOTTEST. Seriously, if you start going through the aries rising people, a lot were sex symbols in their times. But the Aries rising men are stunning, they are just so HOT. But going to back what you say, aggressiveness is seen as a male trait and is perceived to suit males better.

PLF,

I am a guy. BTW, I had written that I had mars in libra but according to western astrology, I have mars in scorp conj uranus in lib and sextile jup in virgo.

I would love to learn experiences of this combination. I am not violent as mars in scorp would suggest, may be that's becuase i am a libran sun. And I think aggression is what useless ppl use there are better ways!

parafora - good to know I'm not alone here.

23 - I didn't mean 'physical' looks. But how, because of the Aries ascendant, a lot of us guys sometimes without even being aware of it, come off as 'macho', 'manly', 'leader' and 'assertive' and sometimes even a bad boy which normally helps attract even more ladies.

Especially when they get to know you a bit better and realize, you're not just a bad-boy they feel physical attraction towards because of your manners, behaviour, but that you're also sweet, sensitive and attentive when it matters and so it can be said that you're like a 'bad-boy' with heart which is I've found what many women dream about at the end of the day. A man, a real man, who has all the good qualities a man should but also isn't ruthless, insensitive or lacking compassion.

So that's kinda what I meant by my previous post and how having an Aries rising sign can be a very good thing if you're a man. Now if you're a woman, I'm sure it's still great in many ways... but because of the society (even though it's year 2008 now and things are MUCH better than they used to be for women especially in western worlds), there are still some double-standards unfortunately and women who are just as ambitious, aggressive and domineering, are sometimes looked down on rather than up on and made comments about... not that they should care... but basically the society accepts men to have these sets of characteristics more easily than women often.

Yes PLF, I did go off the topic a bit and counteranswered but I understand what you meant. I think you gave an apt response, Aries ASC men either come across as bad boys or swashbucklers but the trick is to look closer as you say, behind the asc. What you wrote really reminded me of Donnie Wahlberg. He is aries rising but has leo sun and libra moon. He has I guess or had a bad boy image but when he opens his mouth, you can really detect the libran moon and comes across then as a rather mild-mannered and considerate person. Speaking of which, I also as a woman have a similar problem. I'm aqu sun, libra moon, aries asc. As I've said above, people think I'm an aggressive and angry go-getter when they meet me and I've had people befriend me because they think that I would be "fun trouble", I've had many people refer to me as "trouble" in a joking way (must be eris conj asc?). But when they get to know me, they are more often pleasantly surprised that I'm actually nice and quite considerate.

I know what you mean, 23.

In my case, there's even a bigger contrast between the social mask if you'd call it that and how I really am on the inside, compared to someone like D.W who is a Leo Sun.

That's cuz I'm a triple Cappy!! lol

Sun, Moon and Mercury! So while I love being a leader and am just as ambitious and competitive as an Arian, as everyone knows of course, we have VERY different ways of going about or goals than them.

Nonetheless, I think, for me at least, the Ascendant plays a huge role in my personality. Almost everyone I meet nowadays seems to guess I'm an Aries or Leo and sometimes Gemini, Sag.

They "Think" I'm social, adventurous, a bit of a dare-devil, macho, brave, etc. etc.

And I guess, I am those things to some extent, otherwise, not everyone would see me like that and not over any extended period of time anyway (even though people do even after getting to know me) but the truth is, on the inside, and at the core, I'm like your typical Cappy in most ways. Cautious, conservative, introverted, self-conscious, etc. etc. though all these things nowhere near as much as I 'used' to be in my earlier years.

So there is a bit of contradicting tendencies and inclinations in my make up and I also have Mars in Pisces which throws things a whole other direction and thankfully perhaps, this time makes my personality a little less pushy/forceful and more considerate, emotionally-recognizable of others' feelings, etc.

Nonetheless, I gotta say, I have no complaints. I love it!

Cuz like we spoke about, the Aries Ascendant gives people a good first impression that you're not someone to be messed with, you are someone they should keep an eye on, catch attention, a little flashy, but once they discover you, they see you aren't impulsive and make decisions quick and rashly on the spot, rather you're a cold and calculating thinker and plan long and deep ahead.

=============================================

p.s. What are some of your favourite quotes everyone as an Aries rising?

Mine are usually something along the lines of: "I'm not a by-product of the environment. The environment is a product of me!"

or "There are no failures. Only opportunities to learn!"
