Not sure I know what you mean P.F. Could you be more elaborate?

I have 'venus' in scorpio by the way. I've also been told I have quite a 'stare'. Sometimes we intimidate people without even trying lol. Just us walking down the street doing our own thing, apparently we have a domineering body language, way of carrying ourselves and the stare that can make some people a little nervous around us, a little defensive and on the 'guard'. Of course, once they get to really know you, they see you are a cool friendly guy with good intentions.
So they can relax and open up but still...

quote:

Hey PLF, I've popped in very quickly to give you my favourite Aries rising mantra (quote):

"GET OUTTA MY WAY"

.....usually reserved for supermarket aisles

Hahaha... yah that "Get outta my way" one is an Arian CLASSIC I think. we can all probably relate to that one.

Apart from the 'take-off' from greenlight, one thing I just remembered I do and maybe you guys can relate to though I've never really seen less than a handful others do is that when I'm on the subway and the train is coming to a stop at the station, well... first of all I'm near the door already as first person rushing to get out, but I don't fully wait for the doors to open either... well I do... but I mean, I PUSH the door to the side AS it's opening on its own, as if somehow I'm opening it! lol

Of course I'm not really opening it, it's doing it on its own, but once again, shows the lack of 'patience' and the wanting to get out asap. Of course this is all sub-conscious and I only thought of it NOW! I wasn't in my head and thinking, I NEED to do this at the time or that it'd look cool/lame or stupid or anything.

Kinda comes naturally I guess.... just like the take-off which I still get a great kick out of everytime!

PLF - so true about the first projection what you said. I think some people are sorely disappointed that I don't turn out to be like my aries rising though It makes me feel like I've let them down sometimes.

And yes, it certainly must be a shock to meet you! Mr Calculating!

Quote:
"Hurry Up!"

But there's this one quote which was said by a Russian Gymnastics coach to a gymnast that I somehow seem to remember:

"No one ever remembers second".

So true.

Indeed! Thats why we HAVE to come 1st.

Honestly, I think quotes like that stick out in our minds even more than others. I guess that makes sense though. Everyone has their priorities and recognition, being known as 'great', even pioneers and legendary is probably more important to us than most others.

@23, I know what you mean. Sometimes what people get isn't what they see. So on rare occassions, they may be disappointed. But like I said, in my case at least, I don't think of this as an issue but more of a blessing, since usually the reaction is kinda the opposite.

They get tranced and magnetically attracted to your Aries like Alpha-male behaviour and mannerisms, and then start to love you for really you, when they find out, you're not even just some dumb popular impusilve brain-less jock. But rather you got your life planned, shitload of goals, you're calculating, sensitive, etc.

So it's like they get the good qualities which makes them sexually attracted from bad boys or men like James Bond and also the brain and strategic thinking of a nerd/geek.

But yeh I know what you mean... I've had that happen a couple times too. But whatever, it's their loss...

=================================

We've spoken quite a bit about the POSITIVE aspects of having an Aries ascendant ladies and gents, on this thread. And that's why we're proud of having it.

But I'm sure I'm not the only one who has also noticed certain hindrances. Certain challenges that come with being an Aries rising. The other side of the coin if you want to call it that.

I think it's good for us to go over some of those to see if we have them in common. I'll bring up a couple things that as an Aries rising made my life a little harder later... right now running out of time....

Adios

My Aries rising gave me confidence, straight-forwardness, and the ability to speak honestly. Also being a Sag moon, my honestly was rather blunt.

But hey, that's not a bad thing.

Why muck around when someone's not doing their job? What's wrong with saying "Hey, we've done this much, you've only done that, but we are being payed the same"

Someone has to say it!

I must say I have quietened a little over the years with 'honest statements', but I do let them slip from time to time.

To be honest 23, I'm a total Astr0 newb.

I don't even know what 'squaring' means or even if it does, what that would imply.

I posted my chart here once before, but the problem is, we don't know the exact birth-time.

We know the day, the location and the fact that it was supposedly around noon (just before it maybe according to my mom so let's say 11:40am or so... ) but that's all the info we have.

Sometimes, I wish I did know, that way I could really see if I really DO have Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Pisces, etc. etc. and also really see what aspects there are, conjuctions, etc. Not that I could make sense of them myself but then I could have friends like you guys do.

-------------

@kFlower, I wouldn't say being blunt and honest is a bad thing. Sure, sometimes it can get you in trouble but usually I think of it as a good thing.

I've seen some 'real' negative aspects within myself throughout life that I allocate to my Aries Rising however. I'll be sharing some of that later....

PLF - post your chart again if you wish. I can take a novice's approach to it.

You can still know a lot without your birthtime! Squares and all...!!!

In fact, why don't you post your own thread with your chart and that way a number of us can have a lookie. Just mention you don't know your birthtime, when you post it...!!

PLF,

You can know 80% of the chart even if you do know the approx time..

for e.g you must be either one of aries, pisces or taurus ascendant which in turn will decide other houses

since you feel like an aries you must be an aries asc n infact some ppl can guess your asc easily if you post a pic of yours

Yeah put the chart up PLF! Also look at this thread:
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/018812.html

I'm currently studying the appearance of Aries rising people. With the dwad you can figure out the facial features of a person and then maybe we can narrow your asc down to a 2.5 degree block (this seems to work whether you have planets in the first or not).

Ok guys & gals, I'll post the chart later and would love to hear from you about it.

Think I'll do 2 versions. One with time set as unknown. and one with time set just before noon, which is a more accurate/specific version though maybe not 'exact'.

Yah, I'm quite certain that I'm an Aries rising. Not only do I feel like one but that's what people see me as. When people are guessing my sign, it's usually Aries and Leo sometimes Sag or Gem. Never have I had someone think I'm a fish or Taurean.

But most importantly, I'm quite convinced I am one because the many descriptions I've read on "Aries Rising personalities" (and I've read over 50 and even bookmarked a few which I will share with you guys later links to), suddenly CLICKED for me when I read them. Hell it even made me a believer in astrology. Because, yes, I am pre-dominantly a Capricorn and proud of it too.

But there was a huge part of me and my personality that didn't fit in with that and was very different and Aries-like. In particular, the face I usually and sub-consiously I guess show people when they're first getting to know me and first impressions are being formed.

So when I read those descriptions, suddenly something in my mind went: "Boom!! That's it! NOW it makes sense!! ". Of course I went and read on many many different Aries Ascendant descriptions after that to get a better grasp of what they're like and the more I found out about them, the more I saw, that's how I am. Me being an Aries rising explained so much of the missing puzzle....

So I really want to know the exact birth time personally, so I could be sure of the position of planets, houses and all the little details, the idea that I'm an Aries rising is to me almost a fact and I'd be very surprised if I'm not one.

However, you guys are the experts. So I'm gonna take your suggestion para and put up the only few pics I have right now (not much of a picture taker and recently had computer formatted so lost everything, just got these from a friend) and you guys can judge.

Though, I gotta warn you, these pics are quite crap. Not only do they not display how handsome I really am and it has me hardly looking like my best but I'm just not even sure, they are good for the purpose of someone identifying my rising sign from. So they may be useless... but I"m gonna put them up anyway and then take them off not long after since I"m big on privacy and things like that....

Maybe you can zoom on some to get a better look at the actual face, I don't know....

Bear with me then and excuse the poor pics. Don't know how useful they are, if at all.

They're all I've got for now though, so might be better than nothing....

Yes, you have a more cap-sco influence to the face shape. Your mouth kind of downturns, do you think it does in reality. The eyes appear somewhat aries.

I'm going to suggest a starting rising of 15-17.5 deg for facial expression but the face shape is heavily influenced by your mars I suspect so its hard to tell what decanate. I'd leo although your head is not the rounded. But I don't think its aries decanate, your head would be square. Sag decanates tend to lose the jaw . But I'm nowhere done. You'll have to test out some transits/life events on yourself.

Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts.

Yah... it was beautiful there!! I mean, I don't particularly look 'happy' exactly in these few pics but we did take some good ones which I have to dig up from some backup CD's where I was all smiley and having a blast.

Not sure what you mean by mouth 'downturns' but you may be right. Also, I don't know if one can tell because of the goatee but I have kinda of a Jay Leno type of chin.

Yah these pics are also a little old. 9 months or so since this was our winter vacation.

Just noticed how I look a little lightweight here. I've put on like 10 pounds since but for face-structure, these should do. Especially this one which I've now put as thumbnail realizing it's better, since it can be clicked upon and shown at largest size.

EDIT: Ok, I get ....

You look like Richard ANCONINA - see him on the page below. His ascendant is 12.5 deg Aries. But virgo dwads (12.5-15 deg) have a curled upper lip which you don't have. Have you got anything in your 1st house?

You have to have a natural pose, without trying to pull any facial expressions. Lips I've notices are critical to determining what degree rising you have. A downturned mouth is also there when there's a natural pose, it happens not in photos though, just when you quickly glance in the mirror when you are natural. Hard to explain.
