I met a guy recently to whom I felt inexplicably drawn. Luckily for me he's East Indian so when I asked him about his birthday, he actually knew his birth time. (Yay for Vedic astrology!) I had a sneaking suspicion that his placements were going to be similar to those of my ex-Scorp since the chemistry felt eerily the same. *sigh* Turns out I was right:

Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon, Sagg Mercury, Gemini Saturn and although they have different Ascendants, the new guy's Mars sits at the same degree as my ex's Ascendant.

Most strangely, although they have different names, my ex-bf's name asteroid sits at 23' Taurus in his natal as does the new guy's name asteroid in his own natal. In my chart, my ex's name asteroid sits at 21' Gemini and this new dude's asteroid is at 19' Gemini. How very odd.

The thing is this (there's always a thing): He's brahmin and I'm really quite caucasian. During the time we spent talking (about an hour and a half), although I practically impressed the pants off of him with my limited knowledge of Rahu and Ketu, it became clear that it could never go anywhere serious, for that very reason (my whiteness/non-east indian-ness).

After looking at our synastry, I wonder if maybe we have some type of career connection going on here in addition to all the juicy chemistry. Either way, there are a ton of karmic aspects. I'm wondering if anyone else sees it too (his Mars and NN in my 10th...)?

I almost feel like I would be helping him on an emotional level and he would be helping me out in a career/social networking level.

Reality check anyone? Here's the chart.

His mars in your 10th might add a bit of attraction but really its your DC that is getting a mighty pounding here! As a result, you will feel intuitively drawn to him. Plus his moon in your 5th - you think he is fun, plus the mars-lust link.

Also he will be attracted to you as your mars is in his 1st. Anyway you would be good for him as a friend at least as your sun and venus fall in his 11th

Interestingly your NN is conj his IC, his NN on your MC. So both future and past associations, you might see him good for your future somehow, he might see a previous intimate connection with you. However you do have his saturn on your AC - maybe you might find him a bit heavy going after a while.

Otherwise ruler of your MC (ura) is squ his NN, which sounds kind of interesting and good for maybe his career.

I think I wrote this backwards? Never take sleeping pills and then write on messageboards.

We actually have a Saturn conjunct Ascendant double whammy. We have Karma conjunct Karma. And a Pluto/Venus double whammy (but that's, like, essential for me with les boys).

I think I could be friends with him, but
I guess I'm just wondering if I should even consider wandering into the same old parking lot in Scorpioville. Even if it is just for a cup of coffee and some eye candy.

I think its eye candy with a bit of karmic stuff involved. Your 7th house being bombarded by his planets does not help you, you probably feel very drawn. He has nothing in his 7th from you and from what I can gather, his 7th house ruler (ura) is trined by your merc (1st and 5th ruler for you), which is love affairs and yourself.

Yeah. So maybe the Karma is me deciding to park my car elsewhere.

Thanks 23

Hi Love,

Did you get the impression that the attraction was mutual? I'm asking because in terms of the synastry I would have thought that it's mostly you who is feeling a (romantic/physical) connection.Your 7th house being triggered and all whereas for him it seems more of a friends/career/networking thing (your planets & AC are mainly in his more neutral houses like the 11th house/10th house.

Actually, he was the one who initiated everything, including asking me for my email address and phone number so we could meet up another day. There was ALOT of chemistry both ways on a physical level and I think there was probably quite a bit of chemistry on a mental level too. And I do know this because he he kept asking me if what he was feeling was the same thing I was experiencing...I think HE doubted it was both ways, whereas I could feel it was a two-way street.

In fact, one of the main reasons I did not go out with him last week is the fact that he seemed to reawaken my slumbering mojo and it made me nervous to be alone with him. Even if it was half as potent as my ex, it still would have been...um...potent.

Interesting! This goes back to the whole discussion which has also been led on this site reg house overlays and how they work - most people feel that it'S the house person who feels the effect, but some believe it can also go the other way around. I can only think of one example where MY 7th house was heavily bombarded by a guys personal planets, but it was HIM who felt the attraction straight away and more acutely than me.

Maybe it just boils down to connection. I don't think if we ever meet up that it would lead to anything romantically permanent. And maybe that's really what the house positions indicate - the potential for a longer term relationship.

There are several aspects which are connective though, like my NN on his IC and his NN on my MC. My NN also conjuncts his Eros. And his AC conjuncts my IC and his DC conjuncts my MC. So the all the angles are involved, as well as the Nodes.

We also have his Venus conjunct my Neptune which feels, well, nice. And although his Venus falls in my 7th, my Neptune falls in his 5th.

I think it was a case of karmic connections of some kind? One interesting thing is that on the day we met Transiting NN was conjunct his natal Osiris and Transiting Osiris was conjunct my natal NN. What does this mean, if anything? Who knows.

I'd like to place a bet for $100 that neither one of you is going to just walk away. (Yes, I'm being the devil's advocate here )

With that double-whammy Saturn-ASC conjunction you both have, when you both walk away it will be as if God placed conveyor belts under your feet because you'll be going nowhere.

Plus, that Water Grand Trine of your Sun-Venus trine Uranus all trining his Mars!!!! Yeah...I'd like to see you both walk away from that.

Then your Pluto trines his Saturn...enough said, I rest my case. All that Saturn you both have is GLUE, GLUE, GLUE!!

Anybody wanna see my $100 or raise it?

Geo! Hahahahahahaha!

Well, he asked me out last week and I told him I was not yet convinced that seeing one another was a wholly good idea. I also waited more than 24 hours to reply back to that particular email and I get this feeling that made him back off a bit. He wrote back that he hoped I was feeling better (since my email included an apology for writing back late since I had been under the weather) and a casual "ttys".

I have to agree with you about the Saturn/Ascendant DW. It's the first thing I noticed when I looked at the chart. If you win that $100 off of someone, maybe WE can go out to dinner??

Maybe I better make that $200 since I truly believe that you won't be able to peel him off of you so he'll have to come along with us. LOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL!!!!!

Maybe those double-whammy Saturn aspects suggest that you'll take your time getting together. After all, Saturn rules "time" "trust" "safety" "clarity" and "business". Maybe that's why you're asking your question in terms of business, all that could be feeling very business-like to you and you are "respecting" those business feelings. Saturn rules respect.

I should also add the comments I added on this post:
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/019178.html

As you see, lack of aspects to my 7th house ruler did not stop me from forming a relationship with my partner (of course this is somewhat a bit contradictory to what I wrote last night )

I suppose that it's possible that I am relating the feeling of business to the 'business' of karma. Over the past few years, I'm afraid I've almost started to see it that way. After my first relationship with a Scorpio (born on November 1st) I had two more of these (born October 31 and another November 1st, the latter being the ex to whom I constantly refer on LL). In addition, my best friend is born Novemeber 1st. So by the time my most recent Nov. 1st ex came along and found me, I had an overwhelming feeling that I needed to get down to the bottom of this particular karmic trend.

I remember driving to get to our first date and repeating to myself in my head "It's just karma. Go to dinner, smile, eat and then get the heck out. Karma complete!"
By the end of dinner I knew I was going to fall in love with him, which is the only time I've ever known something like that right away. And I did, and my heart got broooken.

So now, with this guy who has such a similar energy, I feel very cautious and unsure if I really need to go back in this direction again. And it figures that just as I finally convinced the ex to stay away permanently, two days later I meet this dude.

Geo, if you're right that this is glue and I'm stuck, then I plan on using my free will to navigate things much differently this time. I'm pitifully grateful that my heart is guarded for the first time in my life, because we have some serious sexual mojo between us.

23, that's very interesting about your relationship and it's lack of 7th house rulership aspects. Looking through my past serious relationships, I can clearly see all of the 7th and 5th house connections. Since the ones with this guy seem to be mostly affecting my 7th, maybe this is an excercise in seeing my past relationship from a more detached perspective?

Love - I don't know what it could be you have those karmic links, how they are to come to play, I don't know. The fact that all that stuff falls in your 7th means that you see it as a relationship, from his point of view, you might be there to teach about other issues (mostly business houses, plus 8th) but as I said, lack of 7th house on his part didn't stop me from a relationship.

Love,

You're right about the free will. After all, don't they sell glue removers these days at your local hardware store? If they don't have it, we neep to invent it. We'll call it "Neptune Adhesive Remover", it disolves Saturn strength glue in one easy application.

I also seem to get involved with men who were born with their Sun's opposite or conjunct my Jupiter at 25 degrees Cancer. My most recent liaison was a repeat with the same man I was involved with 11 years ago, he was born January 15th, his Sun opposite my Jupiter. I was involved with another man who's birthday was January 17th and 2 men born on July 18th, conjunct my Jupiter. Jupiter does rule my 7th house.

Very interesting to both replies. It's actually my Neptune which gets the most airtime in my relationships and for me, both the great attractor as well as the great illusion. I think every serious relationship has included either a Pisces Ascendant or Neptune conjunct the Ascendant for my partner.

Maybe after all these years, I'm going to be able to use my Neptune for good instead of evil

I like the looks of this one. His Karma is on your Pluto, so YOU get to be Pluto in this relationship. What a perfect opportunity to apply all that Pluto energy that t.Pluto opp your Sun & Venus has been giving you.

Just don't forget about Pallas. Strategize and command.
