some heavy artillery there, to be sure.

A couple of difficult mars squares...

A tough opposition with pluto...

And the Ascendant/Pluto (not sure how that works)...

But, some very encouraging aspects as well.

Over all, I'd say they ought to get along fine.

Both very nice looking charts, imho.

take care,
hsc

Thanks HSC, that was nice of you. I find it better to have someone impartial to look at things for me especially when it comes to my son as I am all to aware that (mummy dearest) can overreact to negatives.

Can I ask HSC how long have you studied astrology? and what are your favorite house systems & what do you think of Old astrology vs the more modern way of looking at it?

You're welcome.

I've been studying informally for about 12 years.

I mostly use Placidus and Koch.
I think Campanus can be good for predicting events.
Recently, I've been experimenting with the Equal house system.

I like the modern psychological approach.

Liz Greene, Stephen Arroyo, and Robert Hand are a few of my preferred astrologers.

You certainly have a responsibility to protect the little guy,
so I can easily understand your concerns there....

Those mars squares, and mars/mercury, can suggest quarrels,
and the challenging pluto aspects are pretty intense.

If he is a mature person, he'll be able to make the best of it,
and not focus on the dissonant places in their relationship.

If he is not a mature person, aspects like that can pose a real problem.

As always, you need to use your own judgement,
and listen to what your intuition is telling you.

Has he exhibited the qualities of a gentleman? A gentle man?

Has he shown signs of a temper, an unwillingness to compromise,
or to consider the other person's perspective and feelings?

Or has he generally spoken kindly and sympathetically?

There are things in his chart to suggest some complexity;
a difficult square with Mars and Pluto, and also the Moon and Mercury,
but conjunctions to his sun from venus and neptune.

I dont personally have the skill to discern how he is making use of these energies.
But, if he is in tune with Venus and Neptune, he would be a very sensitive man.
The Mars-Pluto square between Virgo and Gemini can be quite critical,
especially with the ruler of both these signs in Scorpio, squaring the Moon.
However, Mercury also conjuncts Jupiter and Neptune...
I'd say there is a lot of potential for both good and bad in this man.
It depends a lot on how he has been developing up until now,
how aware he is of his strengths and weaknesses,
and how much he has learned to align himself with the best that is in him.

Thank you HSC.

12 years wow, you must really love astrology.

I most definitely agree with you about Liz Greene & Robert Hand ( I am not familiar with Stephen Arroyo at present) The reasons for me personally have a lot to do with their communication style & how they present what they have discovered, just love it I do.

And on to the million dollar questions!

Peter is a gentlemen to the core, he is considerate & mature. A good father to his own son (20 yrs old), not that he is perfect mind you, I will not look through rose coloured glasses anymore. He does get critical but that is usually reserved for himself & his work - you know, artist never satisfied etc.....

I am not expecting their chart to be all roses as that is never the case and nor is it reality, people disagree & argue; a most natural behaviour in life

Hey I just thought of something to ask you, in your 12 years of study have you ever looked at the charts of criminals - say unusually cruel ones etc? to see if the was any indication of their behaviour? oh now I am intrigued, I hope you say yes because I know I will get a good answer from you!

Sounds good.

Mars/Mercury conjunctions can suggest petty thievery; shoplifiting, maybe even pickpocketing.

Astrologer Lois Roden has a book, "Profiles in Crime".

And this might interest you:

There is some good info here:

Frequencies of Various Aspects and House and Sign Positions in the
Horoscopes of Murderers, Serial Killers, and Mass Murderers as Compared
to Control Groups, Part III
http://www.astrologyresearchjournal.org/article101704/index.htm

And this is also interesting:
http://www.astrodatabank.com/as/reswickenburg.htm

...44 clean charts of killers who fit the FBI profile of a serial murderer...

Now 44 charts does not a research project make; however it seemed to be enough to get an idea if something was going to show up. Here are some of the things that I found:

Thirty-one out of forty-four had sun or moon in Sagittarius or Capricorn. That's 74%. And while Gemini sun-signs stood out, only four of the Gemini's were not included in the Sagittarius/Capricorn moon group.

I suspected that I would find "signatures" that described men who were very intense, such as an emphasis of Moon in Scorpio. To my surprise, not one of these killers had Moon in Scorpio!...

I also found that 32% had the ruler of the ascendant in either Sagittarius or Capricorn. Everything kept going back to those same two signs.

In 41% of the cases the Moon was either the highest, most elevated or the lowest planet in the chart. Even though the interpretation of this may not be significant from a statistical perspective, the FBI profile of serial murderers places a strong emphasis on a dysfunctional family and issues around the mother (there I go interpreting)...

The Capricorn, Saturn, Moon, emphasis seem to be a strong signature. The mean-average of Saturn rising or in the 12th house would be 16%. In 38.5% of serial murders it was here.

For the Moon phases, 77.3% had the Sun and Moon within 45 degrees of the new or full moon. That was in both directions. Basically we are dealing with incredible differences. The first quarter phase and the third quarter phase were not well represented in the charts. I have heard that there are more people born at the time of the full moon than at any other phase. I don't know if that is true or if any study has actually been made about that but it is something that should be considered before drawing any conclusions.

I did find that the Mars-Sun angle seemed to be significant. Of these people, 56.8% were born when the Sun was within 45 degrees on either side of Mars. On a mean-average it is about 25%. We are finding more than double of what we should expect to find.

55.4% had Pluto between the ascendant and the MC. That is interesting from an interpretive perspective. Pluto has to do with what we are living out in terms of where we are on the social evolutionary cycle of things, and how we, as individuals, are contributing to either the evolution or destruction of mankind. 73% had Pluto in the northern half of the chart.

HSC you have never let me down, quite awesome of you really!

your info will keep me occupied for quite some time , so very interesting.

And to give you some info here, I have moon in Sag & did do a little (Horrified Gasp) thievery as teen but have settled down now, I was rebelling against the world at the time & was very busy showing everyone how much I didn't give a fig!! lol. ie; non nurturing family emotionally absent mother (all text book stuff) I read somewhere & I think it may have been one of Linda G' books, that a combination of Sag & Taurus can indicate a certain cruelty in people. (also been guilty of that but only when I have been hurt by trusted individuals) I now however ride above those lower urges quite well - Your thoughts?

Scanning for thoughts....

Well, I can relate to the emotionally absent mother deal.
(Got me a 1st house Moon... talk about textbook!)

And I've been a little cruel (to be kind?) in my time, as well,
but I'm sure I always believed it was justified at the time.
I suppose everyone does.

Also, I have a Mars/Merc conjunction and, well,....
Let's just say, you have nothing to fear from me
unless I'm broke and you're a big, nasty corporation.

My Scorpio Venus knew I would be quite safe & actually gave no second thought to sharing As I am normally quite private (very guarded actually) but I meet a Scorp & out come all my secrets quite willingly, my spirit knows that I have nothing to fear!

Bless you HSC, you are a gem

Hey! So Pluto is inconjunct my husbands nodes right now, 1 degree orb. Curious about the correlation to divorce when Pluto transits nodes?

I ask because I'm probably filing for divorce.
