The dragon's tail, the descending node, the point of Saturn. Where is it on your chart, and what does it say to you?

Mine is in the 9th house (on placidus) in the sign of Leo.

It's saying to me there are some bad habits that could trap me in, but I'm not feeling crystal clear exactly what they are ~ using Equal systems, that is great, it would fall in the 10th house and would mean I shouldn't concentrate on my career, maybe stay at home all day and not bother gonig to work.

But if it is the 9th house, which I rather suspect it is, I'm not so sure what I should be avoiding. Reading for a Phd? Don't laugh, I've thought about it, and thought maybe that was a way of avoiding doing something more 3rd house, or, applying myself professionally.

Much as avoiding Leo seems like a great idea, my husband has Leo Mars conjunct my South Node.

If only he didn't hand out instructions like I was his P.A. It is SO annoying.

And my mother has a Leo Stellium.

If only she didn't hand out instructions like I was a learning disabled six-year-old. It is annoying, but I don't live with her anymore and she is getting old and worries about things far to much to be able to boss me about so much as she did back in the day.

As it's an axis I should metion that Aqua Mars is Conjunct my North Node. So, hence Opposite my South Node. As for Leo Mars, his Sun/Saturn Conjunction is conjunct my Mars, but a bit wide for conjunction to NN.

Mine is in Virgo, house VI exactly conjunct Juno. My mom has Uranus [orb 0] conjunct it and Pluto [orb 5] conjunct it. My south node trines my huge 9th house stelium.

My mothers rushed compulsive behavior remains the thing that annoys me the most about her.

Here is what I found on it:

South Node 6th House (Virgo), North Node 12th House (Pisces)

quote:

The karmic pull of the South Node in the 6th house, will be one of the past life pulling towards a focus on the mind rather than the heart. The default tendency here will be about thinking rather than feeling, working rather than playing, honoring logic more than intuition. The evolutionary pull towards the 12th house, which is ruled by Pisces, will be to balance and correct that tendency with a more imaginative and universal type of thinking in which the goal is to create more compassion in our lives by loving ourselves and others more. No easy task!

Sixth house activities have to do with focusing, discipline, and learning skills to be of use in the world. We mentor others, and are mentored in the 6th, and we are taught skillful ways to live in our bodies and in the world. A South Node placement here wants to move beyond the strict attention to the skills and particulars of a situation and move into the feeling and spirit of the overall picture. This is a Nodal movement away from the particular and detailed attention that the 6th house requires, to the spiritual, meaning-making, and only partially “conscious” quality of the 12th house.

I'm rationalizing a lot, probably more then I should. But I just can't help it. I really do put logic above all. I shy away from routines , they give me panic attacks. I need to always be mixing up things. I expect too much of my self so I often get very down. And it's the complete opposite for others. completely non judgmental. I'm very jealous. Not just in the matters of love.

Since 6th house is a house of pets too. I've got a black poodle and I used to have a cocker spaniel. My dog is my biggest soft spot

Using equal houses my node falls into 5th. I never researched this quite. Should I ?

I don`t think, the SN shows what we should AVOID, it`s rather more of a warning to not rely too much on these traits.

I have SN in Gemini conjunct DSC. Interestingly I do tend to avoid relationships to some degree, but I am a bit obsessed with analysing them.

My South Node is 0 degrees Cancer in the 11th house. It says I should avoid being ruled by my feelings, that I should not assume, I should learn to take what other people say on face value and not sit in a corner wondering if what they say to me was only half the story and make up the other half myself. I should be goal-oriented, keep my commitments, try not to "manage" other people feelings as an avoidance of dealing with negative situations (as this is both selfish and manipulative to the other person) and avoid guilt, anger, fear and insecurity as I am likely to be swallowed by them.

I've got to see the childlike in people and have lots of fun. (5th house NN). That should be cool as I've got Jupiter there to help me. Also Saturn in the 11th to point me away from the South Node. Ta Saturn.
All these things before breakfast.

I have Virgo South Node 6th house (ie, Pisces North Node 12th house).

Have you seen Jan Spiller's book, "Astrology For The Soul"? It's all about the nodes and it's brilliant. Very helpful.

The point of Saturn, blue moon? What do you mean??

Because I've got SN in Scorpio and it's loosely conjunct (orb 8°) my Saturn in Scorpio in the 1st house...

Mine is in Pisces in the 10th. I guess I should be less judgmental and really really focus on my career. Ugh, but I love staying home!

It's also conjunct Venus.

Black Lily, that's a tradtional name for the South Node according to the book I was reading ~ I will dig it out and get the quote. Er, I have tidied up and now I can't find it. It was so much easier to find in a pile on the floor. I'm such a slob.

Apparently the North Node was called the Point of Jupiter.

i have to agree with DD, i don't think we necessarily have to avoid the SN - it is full of gifts and wellpracticed talents and skills which we bring with us as TOOLS into this life...but we need to use them to achieve the NN which is where we are focussing and going NOW...

augentier, someone is wrong! you can't have both in aries, that's a fact!XX

My NN is in Gemini third house and SN in Sagittarius 9th house. I've always wanted to travel the world and be a wild horse more than anything else. But I didn't know how to fulfill my soul's desires. I'm near my Saturn Return (Libra-Balance) and for the first time, I've been so interested in the details, specifics, and the realities of life (3rd house). I still want to travel the world but I now appreciate the little details and things about the people and places that I want to go to and instead of insisting my own philosophies, I am slowly beginning to see what works for others. I am very interested in current events and even plan of being a writer in the later years to come. I know it won't be easy but I'll try to see how far I can go. I now admire the detailed works of novelists than the usual general ideas/themes that I used to prefer. I saw the big picture but it was too big I didn't know how to place things in the realistic and practical sense. I've always thought of myself as too big for the mundane world ((SN in Sag 9th house tendency) but then placing my feet on the ground is so much better than my mind up there.

To me, life just gets better. This is great. My dreams (Neptune conjunct my South Node in the 9th House of Sag) here I come. Thanks to this, I have a more realistic view (Saturn) of reaching my dreams. I'm grounded. Thanks Saturn in Libra. I still have the optimistic Sag 9th house SN and is working on my 3rd house (communication and direct environment) in Gemini.

My South Node is in Taurus in the 11th house....it's trine moon, quincunx mercury, trine venus, opposite Uranus(conjunct NN) and I think maybe conjunct chiron Rx

I believe that "fate" has lead certain people and circumstances into my life who and that, have helped me to grow in multiple ways. I have also been around people who didn't want me to grow in ways that I needed and they tried to take advantage of my loyalty to them, which worked for a time.

Until I realized that in order to be the best for them I have to be the best for me too and follow my own path in a way that doesn't hurt others, of course.

I've noticed that I'm seeing more and more opportunities to be artistic and creative especially the more I put my efforts into being that way.
I've also noticed that with my spirituality as well.

http://www.mooncatsastrology.com/astro/lunarnodes.htm

*North Node in 5th House

You are learning to be creative and vital in this life. You will make fortunate contacts with children and with people who share your recreational or creative activities.

*South Node in 11th House

You need to break away from political or social causes, or dependence on friends and social groups.

*North Node in Scorpio

You are learning to feel powerful and make important changes in this life. You will make fortunate contacts with people who play a transformative role in your life or who are powerful, magnetic and/or forceful.

*South Node in Taurus

You need to break away from selfish tendencies, pushiness and stubbornness.

I have south node Aries in my 2nd house & north node Libra conjunct Pluto, sextile Leo mars, quintile Sag venus in my 8th house.

Always felt very safe just being with myself making money with emphasis getting everything I ever wanted & working on my career.

Relationships was never a forte for me, till destiny had other plans. Learnt my lessons to have a balanced outlook on life. Turned kinda spiritualistic with a more philosophical outlook in life.

I guess my SN Aries 2nd house makes me feel safe, content & comfortable being kinda self sufficient.

But my NN Libra 8th house teaches an entirely different thing. To learn when to trust others & at the same time to accept my self sufficieny as my strength in this 'dark & beautiful' placement.

For a while I thought that my s. node was in Aries.

Because on many birth chart sites they only show the north node.

So when I saw N. node in Aquarius 14 degrees in the XII/Aries I thought that meant it was in Aries.

But nope I get it now its in Leo.

And I'm an Aries sun, and some say I don't seem like an Aries so I took it that the s. node meant the sign that is "just not your thing/style" lol
But maybe I just don't seem like an Aries to some because none of my main planets have anything in the first house.

But anywho, thank you knowflakes for educating me more on this topic.

I have always read that whereas the North Node is our 'life's purpose' and what we need to learn, the South Node is things that we have a grasp of already that we needn't dwell on too much -however, these qualities are said to help us reach the goals of the North Node.

I have my South Node in Libra in my 7th house. I feel this alot as my Venus in Aquarius and my Piscean Sun also want to just focus on love and partnerships and the greater effect they have on the world. I am learning, though, to use this outer unity to unify the different parts of myself and be more self-assertive and *gasp* 'mefirst' about things in life -North Node in Aries! :-)

Is it true that an Opposition to the North Node is a Conjunction to the South Node and that a Sextile to NN is a Trine to SN and that a square is still a square? I read that on another forum. Astro.com does not have SN aspects -at least not that I've found.

SN conj Pluto in Scorpio, in the 1st.

It's a pain, but at the same time I like having to work hard to out grow some of my negative SN tendencies. I've learned not to take things too personally, not to be too overly suspicious, everything doesn't have to be either all black or all white, life and death (be more calm, dependable, etc). Luckily I have stellium in h2, makes it a little easier.

My SN is in Scorpio, NN in Taurus. Here's me:

*North Node in Taurus
You are learning to provide for yourself in this life. You will make fortunate contacts with people who are financially stable and secure, or who convey a sense of peace and tranquility.

*South Node in Scorpio
You need to break away from mistrust of others or allowing yourself to be controlled. You need to avoid an attraction to powerful, intense upsetting situations.
