"I read your review of Indigo child.. I've got the book. I think what Mrs. Virtrue is trying to say is there is a purpose for these kids and you.. and that medication isn't the only answer. Sometimes it's a spiritual issue, sometimes it's an issue of simply being haunted by generational BS handed down and not being properly addressed or looked at. A diffent approach to parenting is the way I read it, you say you aren't linear thinking. Interesting.
Thanks for sharing, good night. "

I don't believe in medication for treating ADHD. I believe that it's just an alternative way of being. That's my part of my belief in neurodiversity.

Ever since reading Thom Hartmann's books as well as reading about the DRD4-7R gene, I believe medication for ADHD makes no sense. How can ADHD traits that Thom Hartmann said were traits that hunters had,and seemed to be confirmed by the scientific discovery of DRD4-7R gene which is linked to novelty-seeking, found in approximately half of ADHD children and is thought to be an advantageous gene dated back between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago that helped humans thrive and survive be something that requires medication?

stuff on DR4-7R Gene
http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2008/06/ariaaltribe.html
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2002/01/020109074512.htm

I have Thom Hartmann's book,THE EDISON GENE http://www.amazon.com/Edison-Gene-ADHD-Hunter-Child/dp/15947 70492/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229153522&sr=8-1

I also have his book,Thom Hartmann's Complete Guide to ADHD: Help for Your Family at Home, School and Work http://www.amazon.com/Thom-Hartmanns-Complete-Guid e-ADHD/dp/1887424520/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229153595&sr=8-3

Thom Hartmann told about how his son was diagnosed as having ADHD and was recommended to take Ritalin. Thom was like "hell no..it's not some Ritalin deficiency" when he heard the doctor trying to compare to ADHDer needing Ritalin to diabetes people needing insulin.

I believe that today's mainstream education doesn't fit many neurodivergents' learning styles as well as even many neurotypicals' learning styles...especially when there is a lot of auditory sequential teaching. Thom Hartmann pointed out that back in the old days, school was pass n' fail. There was no grading system. There was like a close connection that a teacher had with his/her students. Thom Hartmann pointed out that the grading system is based on factory working system.

but yeah...he doesn't believe that ADHD children need medication. He believes that educational reform is strongly needed.

We have way too many children on psychiatric medication. I honestly believe that it's not safe to be a neurodivergent child here in USA. I am glad that I was in special education and not drugged up on Ritalin when I was a little child in the 1970's. I definitely showed typical ADHD behaviors in my early school years up to 4th grade. Being around special education students that had behaviorial issues rubbed off on me too. As I got older, I learned to behave well in school and got good citizenship grades because of my discipline from my parents which included spankings. I was mainly the daydreamer, not completing homework assignments, disorganization, fidgeting, tapping my feet,my pencil in class and not kid acting out in classroom. The Speed Racer movie depicted the child version of Speed Racer as a posterboy for ADHD! HAHAHAHAHA!

I don't believe in spanking children either. I would never tell anybody else how to raise his/her children. I know that I won't have my future children medicated nor would I spank them. I would raise them with firm discipline so they can be disciplined, responsible, respectful, and considerate of others. I believe education starts in the home. I intend to educate my children as best as I possibly could...especially if see warning signs of issues that I have, I can give them early intervention. I could try to keep them out of special education class to avoid them from being teased, called "retard",and to keep their self esteem intact. I have a collection of books on special education needs matters too. They help me understand myself and others like me. They will help me understand my children that could inherit my neurodivergence.

Don't most of us have Eris in Aries because it takes a long time in each sign? Hmm.

We're all troublemakers as far as I'm concerned

Complete scoundrels

I'm with Glaucus on this ~ troublemaker is a negative manifestation of Eris energies. I suppose the same could be said for Uranus, too.

I totally agree with you... medication for kids is just out of order in my book.

Even antibiotics and steroids should be monitored severely. I don't give any of my boys anything when they get ill. They have a finely-tuned body with honed skills so l let them use it to it's fullest effect!

Raymond- thank you for clarifying and posting those link's to Mr. Hartman's research. My daughter is diagnosed with ADHD and it's ridiculous how many kids are being medicated, we chose not to go that route and put her in an art=based Waldorf theme school.

These kids with the gene Mr. Hartman speaks of might just need those survival skills if in the coming years if there is any type of event that wipes most of humanity off the planet. Why else do we have such great numbers of kids with ADHD if it weren't needed for later?

Very obscure reasoning... but who knows?

When I think about hyperactivity in regards to ADHD, I think about I am actually hyperactive person, but I keep it in check. I am hyperactive in that I feel have so much nervous energy. I am very high strung. My mind is very active. I don't think words verbally fast(especially..it's not my primarily mode of thought), but the pictures in my head can change rapidly like constantly changing the channel. Certain past memories can pop up quickly and be gone quickly.

I am very moving,reacting..very quick reflexes. I get jumpy....so I can be seen as impulsive. Of course,I can be impatient. I have to try hard not to interrupt when people are talking. There is a tendency for me to do that. I was a very fast runner, and I ran track briefly. It wasn't just because I have long legs, but I just had a natural quickness. I even moved my arms rapidly. I can switch directions quickly. Also I would react quickly to people's movements...it was like I was unconsciously reading what they were doing.

I actually made a very good defensive back because I had deceptive speed. Like if somebody ran in front of me,thinking that he is wide open, I could suddenly shift gears the moment the ball gets right near him,and get to the ball before he does. I would also also dart to the other side of the field as the ball is thrown, and I would end up getting to the ball. I have an automatic ability to see everything all at once, rapid scanning...I feel that my being highly distractible is connected to that. I do pay attention to everything around me. If I heard papers in class,I would be facing that direction. When I hear something drop,my head would be going in that direction.

Unfortunately,I have poor eye-hand coordination that made me lousy at catching stuff. I would have problems tracking the ball, especially if fired straight at me. Therefore,I'd made a lousy wide receiver even though I definitely had the speed to play that position. I was better at intercepting balls because it was unexpected. I also tended to catch a ball the moment it came near my hands without my eyes looking at the velocity of the speeding ball.

The thing is that I would tend to do many things too rapidly.....walk,eat,talk,etc. I have poor sense of time which is linear concept. I was getting in trouble with my parents a lot for being late. I tend to leave very early for appts to compensate. I don't know if I am doing things too fast or too slow.

but yeah.....that's how my ADHD traits can be traits of a hunter. I wanted to show ADHD traits that are seen bad in the classroom can be good outside the classroom.

I think that my midpoints show this type of stuff

I think my ADHD/Hunter traits are reflected by the following

I think Uranus is involved big time. Uranus is my oriental planet, and it has no ptolemaic aspects to planets. It trines Midheaven and North Lunar Node-Vertex conjunction. That's about it.

I am going to post charts of famous people, dead or alive with Eris aspects involving personal planets and points within 1 degree orb. I am going to list only the ptolemaic aspects(conjunction, opposition, square, trine, sextile)

I want to show that Eris energy can be good too and not just bad.

the first chart posted is of Albert Einstein.

Everybody knows him..when people think of intelligence, science, physics, theory of relativity He said that imagination was more important than knowledge. He even said that the mysterious is true source of art and science. He had a history of speech delays/problems. There has been speculation that he was Dyslexic,ADD,or had high functioning autism.

I am just listing aspects within 1 degree orb

he also had strong Sedna influence too

The concept of right ascension has been known at least as far back as Hipparchos who measured stars in equatorial coordinates in the 2nd century BCE. But Hipparchos and his successors made their star catalogs in ecliptical coordinates, and the use of RA was limited to special cases.

With the invention of the telescope, it became possible for astronomers to observe celestial objects in greater detail, provided that the telescope could be kept pointed at the object for a period of time. The easiest way to do that is to use an equatorial mount for the telescope, which allows the telescope to rotate at the same rate as the earth. As the equatorial mount became widely adopted for observation, the equatorial coordinate system, which includes right ascension, was adopted at the same time for simplicity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_ascension http://www.astrologysoftware.com/resources/vastrology/eqsys.asp?orig= http://www.alphee.com/Weekly_Articles/RA/index.htm http://starwise.com/Celebrity_Examples.htm

I will post some negative Eris examples too.

From Biography (B)
John Maynard Keynes
Economist, Journalist, Financier

Keynes is famous for his economic theories on the causes of prolonged unemployment. "Keynesian economics" had a major impact on modern economic and political theory as well as on many governments' fiscal policies. His most important work, The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (1935-1936), was the most influential economic treatise of the 20th century. Economists consider him one of the main founders of modern theoretical macroeconomics. Keynes' expression, "In the long run, we are all dead," is much quoted. He died on 21 April 1946 in Firle, Sussex.

SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes Donald Edward Moggridge's book, "Maynard Keynes: An Economist's Biography" (Routledge, 1995), p. 1: "John Maynard Keynes was born at 9.45 a.m. on Tuesday, 5 June 1883 at 6 Harvey Road, Cambridge."

Thomas Say
Taxonomist, Naturalist, Entomologist, Malacologist, Carcinologist

During his career, Say described over 1,000 new species of beetles and over 400 species of insects of other orders. No single individual before him had discovered more new species.
He was one of the founding fathers of the Entomological Society of America, which maintains several series of publications and awards that are named in his honour.
His two classic works are "American Entomology, or Descriptions of the Insects of North America" (3 volumes, 1824-1828), and "American Conchology, or Descriptions of the Shells of North America" (Parts 1-6, 1830-1834; Part 7, 1836).
He died, apparently from typhoid fever, in New Harmony, Indiana, on 10 October 1834, at just 47. Zoologists named several animal species after him.

Samuel Adams

From Quoted Birth Record (AA)
Statesman, Politician, Writer, Political Philosopher, Brewer

Adams was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was instrumental in garnering the support of the colonies for rebellion against Great Britain, eventually resulting in the American Revolution, and was also one of the key architects of the principles of American republicanism that shaped American political culture.
After attending Boston Latin School and Harvard College, Adams became a mercantile businessman, then an influential political writer and theorist. He argued that the colonies should withdraw from Great Britain and form a new government. He played a prominent role during protests against the Stamp Act, and in the events of the Boston Tea Party in 1773. Furthermore, he participated in the Continental Congress, and advocated the adoption of the Declaration of Independence at the Second Continental Congress.
After the United States declaration of independence in 1776, Adams helped write the Massachusetts Constitution with John Adams, his cousin, and James Bowdoin. Following the end of the American Revolutionary War, he ran for the House of Representatives in the 1st United States Congressional election, but was unsuccessful in his bid. He was elected Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in 1789, and after John Hancock's death in 1793, Adams served as the acting governor until he was elected governor in January of the following year. He served in that position until June 1797 when he retired from politics. He died six years later on 2 October 1803.

SOURCE: Sy Scholfield quotes a transcription of the Adams Family Bible in the book, "The New England Historical and Genealogical Register" (New England Historic Genealogical Society, 1854), p. 283: "Samuel Adams their second son, born the sixteenth day of Septbr at twelve of the Clock at noon, being Sabbath day, 1722."

lovely you took the words right out of my mouth, these "ADD/ADHD" kids are probably going to lead us out of the darkness in some way...though i have to point out that they have probably always been here amongst us (i have my own tendencies that way) but society makes them more and more APPARENT as it tries more and more to box us in to our pigeonholes...certainly in the days when frontiers were being pushed back they were most valuable! it's not that long since we HAD frontiers to push back but apart from space they are mostly mental, social and spiritual frontiers. i believe that a HUGE percentage of movers and shakers in all times were probably ADD (ofHD)...so many of them did poorly in school or had very unorthodox schooling. what eris' part in all this i leave to raymond, who has the patience of a saint (or hyperfocus)!

Ross hit the charts again in Britain in November 1991 and had to endure the release of a telling biography, Call Her Miss Ross, in November 1989.
