Hi Aphrodite

Well I first read Linda Goodman Sun signs in 1979 and have always loved it.
But I have only really looked into astrology for about the past 18 months. So I still have so much to learn.

Sue, you're a good Soul. That has happened so many times to me over the years.

Sue, I've told you from the time I met you that you have the astrologer signature in your natal chart. If I didn't trust your ability, I certainly wouldn't have encouraged you to learn it and help here.

I certainly hope the two of you stay and continue helping out with Soul Unions when I'm able to return. Please don't feel like you have to leave or stop answering questions, just because I'm here! You both have a special gift and I think it's great having you here.

Amy--

seeker, it's not healed yet. It'll take a good year for it to heal completely. I was bored yesterday...and my wrist wasn't hurting...so I kept going. I promise, I promise it won't happen again....or at least often! I already heard about it!

Sue -

Can you tell me more about how the Saturn aspects identify past life relationships?

Also what is the implications of singletons?

I'm still flip flopping here. Was supposed to see the Sag last night but he had to cancel due to work. I'm sure we'll get together soon, and knowing there is a reason while I'm feeling all these emotions is so helpful!

Lastly, I remember reading that "Relationship Signs" was only started by Linda and not completed and isn't a "true" Linda book. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Hopeful

Hi Hopeful

OK today my brain is not at it's best.......
One of my friends needed "support" re doctors visit.....then we had wine.....say no more

So re Linda and Relationship Signs...I luv that book - VERY informative!

Saturn and past lives.....Auriel is way more knowledgeable than me re that.

Singletons.......
Here's some info.....
If you have spent a fair amount of time looking at your natal chart, trying to figure out who are you, then you probably ( I guess so ) overlooked the role of one very important planet in your chart -
the SINGLETON.
The Singleton is a planet which is located alone in a house type or alone on the one side of the chart, or is the only one in element(fire, earth, air, water) or quality(cardinal, fixed, mutable).
The Singleton is a part of so called INFERIOR FUNCTION in a chart. There are Dominant and Inferior function in a chart.

What is DOMINANT FUNCTION you will ask-
it is indicated by where the most energy is collected and the INFERIOR FUNCTION is where there is the least or none at all. The dominant function is where we feel most natural, comfortable, at home; It is easy and natural. Therefore, it may not be a source of great motivation(something very important) . The inferior function comes into play when we are under stress, when we have to cope, when we feel out of our element. This can be a source of great motivation and creative expression. But, there is a trickster quality about it; it is there when least expected. It undermines the dominant function. Suddenly, all the gifts, talents, achievements can be wiped out! The rug is pulled out from under the comfortable, habitual way of being and interacting. The inferior function manifests in embarrassing and inappropriate ways.

I`ll tell you more later about how the Singleton is functioning , I found an interesting article about that...meanwhile - look in your chart whether you have a Singleton (it could be that you have multile singletons although it happens very rarely)

what the article says :
The SINGLETON is one of two types of inferior functions.
Singletons show up as one-of-a-kind in one or more categories; by modality, element, orientation by sign and house, or as the only planet in one hemisphere. In whatever way a planet is a singleton, it is equally important. The more times it is a singleton, the more it is emphasized, and the more highly focused it tends to be in the psychology and in the life. The energy of the singleton planet, the quality of the sign and house in which it is posited and the house(s) it rules are all highlighted. A singleton is both the "runt of the litter" and the "pig of the litter." It can demand nearly all of a person's psychic energy, starving the dominant function.

Absent Functions -
Let's now look at the second type of Inferior Function: the Absent Function.

That happens when there are NO planets in an element, modality or orientation. (Like in my case I have no water planets for exception of my ASC in Pisces, it could be my second singleton, but Asc is a point so it is not considered as Singleton ).

The absent function manifests psychologically most often in two ways. It is a source of great creativity, and it tends to be so in terms of overcompensation. A person with a missing element or modality is likely to be an overachiever in terms of the element or modality. He may be rather obsessed, driven to do something creative with it. The other response is to let the absent function become the source of the shadow, that repressed part of the self that is a source of great annoyance when it is encountered in other people. For example, a man with no occupied water signs(myslef ) may find himself inordinately offended or upset by emotional, sentimental weeping people, especially women or ethnic minorities whose culture permits much more emotional expressiveness than his mainstream standards allow( absolutely true ). Bill Clinton has no water sign planets, yet he has a Singleton Moon and Neptune on the Ascendant. Many Americans like him because he has "soul" and "rhythm"; they feel he identifies with them with great sensitivity and compassion.

The absent function tends to be all on or completely shut down. There is an extremist quality about it. Among the famous people with no fire are the flamboyant actors, Rudolph Valentino and John Berrymore. Writers and intellectuals like William F. Buckley and Oliver Wendel Holms often have no air in their charts. No water shows up in the charts of poets and composers.
Hitler had no Water Oh my
A lack of earth can produce a millionaire like J. Paul Getty, as well as substance abusers like Judy Garland and Dylan Thomas. Missing earth also gives a tendency towards abstraction. The charts of great modern astrologers, Marc Edmund Jones, Dane Rudhyar and Robert Hand are waterless.

When the absent function appears on the Ascendant or the Midheaven, the persona, personal or public, tends to overcompensate; it is all façade. Often it is a case of false advertising: what you see is not what you get when you take the package home and unwrap it! Marilyn Monroe, with her Taurus Midheaven, is a good example. The public image she projected was the sex goddess. Inside she was air and water, all ideas, thoughts and emotions, with no way of "grounding" herself.

When dealing with a chart that has missing functions, it is important to look at the progressed planets and the outer planet transits. For example, a person with no air may have a progressed Sun in an air sign, at the same time outer planets may be transiting another air sign. That would be a time for the person to really use his or her hidden talents and experiment with communication, writing, speaking, relationships and group involvements.
We see again, as we did with Singleton planets, that missing functions correlate with uniqueness, talent, color and drama in the personalities and lives of the charts' owners.

Hi Hopeful

ok the saggi......

I checked his transists just now.....

Pluto & Chiron are transiting his 3rd house.
Neptune transiting his 4th
Uranus transiting his 5th (Romance can be erratic!)
Moon transiting his 7th (only lasts a few days but relationships should be on his mind!)
Sun, Mercury, Saturn transiting his 8th
Venus,Mars, Node & Jupiter all transiting his 9th.

With regards to aspects the transiting planets are making to his natal planets.

Saturn is opposing his Sun (Sun is his 11th house cusp ruler)

As usual with Saturn transits, if there are any problems, they will start to surface during the conjunction and the other stressful aspects (the square and opposition). This is especially true of health matters since the Sun rules the body in general.

Saturn square Uranus (Uranus is his 5th house cusp ruler)

Uranus rules our urge for independence and innovation. Saturn makes for restriction. It’s not that obstacles to your hopes and wishes suddenly appear. Most likely, they’ve been there all along. When a stressful aspect (conjunction, square, or opposition) from transiting Saturn hits your natal Uranus, you start to notice them. You now have two apparent choices: give in and be depressed, or rebel and risk disaster. Naturally, no matter which planet you choose to follow, the other one will “get you”. But there is a solution. You have to mix the traits of both planets at the same time. Make far-reaching changes in your life now (Uranus). But do it in a well planned, orderly, and structured way (Saturn). Don’t expect the changes to be either quick or easy. You have be prepared to stay there for the long haul. One caution. Don’t try to do too much. Under Saturn transits, we sometimes try to work 25 hours a day, and eight days a week. A little rest every now and then won’t kill you.

Saturn square Pluto. (Pluto is his 2nd house cusp ruler)

Pluto rules deep and hidden things. Like a volcano, they can build up pressure, unseen and unsuspected until an explosive burst. Saturn is restriction, but it also tends to bring problems to the surface. When Saturn transits natal Pluto with a stressful aspect (conjunction, square, or opposition) the people you meet are not likely to be of the highest caliber, especially those governed by the house that Pluto is in (His natal Pluto is in his 11th house), or the house that it rules (it rules his 2nd house)
Saturn can be bitter and Pluto explosive.
In any event, the people you attract now may not be underworld characters, but they might as well be. Make an extra effort to avoid power struggles. This transit makes it more likely for them to occur.

Uranus is square his Moon.

Internally, the Moon rules emotions and feelings, the instinctual side of our nature and our habit patterns. Externally, it rules the home and relations with women. Uranus makes us want to change things. As always, the stress aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) are the most dramatic. Emotions surface faster, sometimes much faster. Watch out for a tendency towards hysteria during Uranus stress transits to the Moon. It may not be your emotions that need watching. The women you attract now may also be crazier and more hysterical. No, a transit that you are having does not affect anyone else. But it does affect whom you will attract. There could be a sudden urge to make major changes around the house or to go on a diet (the Moon rules the stomach). Watch out though. It will be the wilder diets that appeal to you now. Romantic relationships don’t escape. Everything can seem “electric” under this transit. Uranus increases the chances of having new lovers coming into your life suddenly. Be careful. They can leave just as quickly. But doesn’t Venus rule love? Yes, but the Moon rules the feelings and that’s what love is based on. The smooth aspects are usually easier to take. You are less likely to do something totally off the wall. The main thing to remember with Uranus transiting your Moon, and with Uranus transits in general, is to make those changes slowly. Try to avoid making a sudden jump. Handled properly, Uranus can get your life out of a rut and open up a whole new world of possibilities

Also I'm not sure if you have actually looked at his natal chart....but he has Saturn in his 5th house ---->

Planet of fear and caution in the house of fun and games. This can cause a lot of trouble when one is a teenager. There will tend to be extra difficulties with romance, creativity, and fun in general. Saturn’s idea of "fun" is something that takes a long time and lots of hard work. Remember, Saturn is where we want to control things, and in the fifth house that means control of fun, games, and love affairs. You may not have too many "light" affairs. Saturn wants everything to be important. On the plus side, Saturn here can be very good for creative projects that take forever to do and require endless patience. When it comes to gambling, stay away from the casinos and put your money somewhere safe. Children will also give more than the normal amount of problems.

Hope that helps
Love
Sue

lol @ wait mode again.......sorry but like I said before when Saturn wants patience...you'll give him patience
Try to find a funny side to it all if you can...it'll help....or better still keep yourself busy with other stuff by way of a distraction.

There are a lot of tough transits around this month. Things should start to improve in general from next month

Give me a shout if your need any more help.
Love
