I agree - tis' so sad, the world needs love. Pure love, you know what I mean, not these one night stand kinda deals. Makes me sick, I need a guy that'd die for my love coz I'd do the same for him. Maybe I am in love with love? What happened to the storybook romance, am I the only one that believes? Coz I am not about to settle for less. No, I don't need a man to support me financially or get all jealous and make a scene. I'm just lookin for someone whom I can relate to, you know? Someone that'll hold me through the night and tell me things'll be alright, I need that. I think that is the perfect type for me. Too bad I am not the most romantic, but neither is anyone else these days. Most people don't appreciate the simple things in life like a favorite song or an April mist. No! Why must it be like this, c'mon don't tell me I am the only one who thinks like this......Am I , sick? IP: Logged |

Dorkus -Depending on who you talk to, some people think of any "need" you have as being a weakness you need to surmount on your own and fulfill within yourself before looking for a relationship. I've been saying for a while that women who've climbed mountains for independence, fulfilling the feminist droan of the 70's/80's, are now admitting they "need" those old-fashioned things anyways! Like when Newsweek recently did a cover story on how men and women are actually different. Duh! I'm so damn exhausted, but I'm learning. When you start to feel your repressed unmet needs start to dominate your motives, just love yourself more and remind yourself everything is going to be alright. And this is in NO way to suggest that you are not capable of this at the snap of a finger. But I sort of see this "fake boob" era as a way of men almost successfully getting back at the feminist movement. On the one hand, it's good we don't have our gender roles defined in strangleholds anymore. On the other, there's been a backlash. Unfortunately, the younger women of today are hurting themselves as a result. They are buying into a lawlessness brought on by romantic hippy philosophies, but realist in us cannot be repressed forever. So we are not home free yet. IP: Logged |

Is that why teenage girls are giving teenage boys blowjobs like they were Tic-Tacs or something? That is one seriously bad side-effect of a society that has become far too sexually liberated. Time for the pendulum to start swinging back the other way, me thinks.IP: Logged |

Yup. The pendulum is swinging so far back, that America is up in arms over a breast being bared on television.I ask you, how can a breast be profane? The profanity, to me, is the love of violence we seem to have embraced. Sports, movies, wars, give us more more more! The blood, the guts, we love it. But breasts...we're offended by. *sigh* OK, rant over. Oh, dorkus, what's so simple about having a favorite song? Do you know the complexities involved in having a song recorded, let alone it becoming a hit?? Just a little of my sardonic, ironic humor poking through. But I wouldn't worry too much about comparing this generation or the next generation to any other...or we'll all be old ladies in polyester with a sewn-in crease, bitchin' about the government at the corner store. Things are what they are, don't let yourself be old before your time. Alright, the lonely devil's advocate has left the building, looking for luv or something like it... IP: Logged |

Trillian, I get what you are saying about the violence, and I have deep concerns about all of it as well, but...
I can't deny that I do feel that the permissive sex in our culture, and / or the display of sex and such within our media has been a major cause, not the only cause mind you, but a pretty major cause, of this horrible breakdown to occur among the youth in America though. I mean, it's ridiculous to me that a 12 year old female should be sitting around with her 12 year old male friend, ( not even her boyfriend here mind you, because this doesn't even have to be her boyfriend when these girls do this, ) and have her just decide to give him oral sex. It is a truly scary thing, and I am sorry, but hearing stories like these which have now become all too common by now makes me want to scream out to Britney Spears and the like... "Please cover up now. You have made your point already." Lol I think that it all HAS gone too far when it comes to the point where kids are having casual oral sex on buses and in bathrooms.
It's just out of control at that point, and I do believe that artists should have more forethought about how they appear to the public in that case. As for the violence, I know.
I hate all of the gory videogames and such in the media which are out nowadays too. IP: Logged |

It's not 100% because they are having sex young - they are just getting caught. A strong moral character won't do it no matter what.IP: Logged |

Children are having children-mothers are children themselves so they have no wish to parent their daughters and give strong role models. It's a youth based culture, nobody wants responsibilities anymore, and women are children...I know so many women who are into botox not their babies..not Taurus women though Natasha Taurus IP: Logged |

sorry that's kind of biased about Taureans..Still the biggest sickness as Mother Teresa said is an unwanted child. That leads to heartache. Why I don't know, but so many women are sick of their kids at age 12-that's the age most children get the least attention! Natasha IP: Logged |

Natasha, the kids usually start to really push away from their parents at 12...heck, they're experiencing alot of wierd stuff during that time, including their 1st Saturn return, and they become less "darling", but it's by necessity. They realize it's time to start weaning themselves from mama's apron strings. But I think to a certain extent we are becoming less and less skilled as parents, as parenting is a skill we learn from our own parents first and foremost. As we become a society less focussed on the family unit and more focussed on individual accomplishments, family oriented skills aren't valued very much, and society suffers as a result. We are losing ourselves by being obsessed with ourselves. IP: Logged | |
