Any thoughts on them?

Does anyone use them?

I don't know much about them or what they represent. How would one use a davison chart in conjunction with the synastry and composite charts?

So synastry is basically how we will affect one another, our personal interaction.

The composite is calculated by finding the midpoint between the position of the planets in each natal chart and represents the relationship itself as an entity...

And the Davison chart is calculated by finding the actual midpoint in time between both times/dates of birth and is used primarily for... ?

Thanks! Would love to know more from all the lovely knowflakes at Lindaland!

Hey Aquarian Girl,

My Husband and I use our Davison Chart, just like our Natals. The Davison is basically, the unique energy of the two people who create it. So, the chart is, very much a Natal for the two combined into a new and seperate whole. We read ours as we would any Natal, to better understand us as ' I '.... don't know if any of this makes much sense but, I hope you get something out of it....?

Geminstone~

How does this differ for you from a composite chart? I'm glad the question was asked because I've been wondering about this. Also glad someone knows what it is!

Thanks

Hi again,

Basically, it comes down to the time/space factor. The composite chart finds the midpoint between the 2 Sun's, Moon's, Merc's, etc, etc... but, the resulting placements, are not actual planetary placements..... meaning that the sky was never actually, aligned in that way. The Davison chart find's the midpoints but, in time/space factors as well.... this results in a date, which gives an actual alignment, one that did occur. God, I hope that is understandable...? I still have'nt grasped the full details of time/space factors but, I do know that the Davison Chart is unique for that reason, as it can then be used for looking at transits and progressions... it IS a real chart.

Thanks, Geminstone.

Could I bother you with another question? How do you use/interpret this differently than you would a composite? Or do you personally simply reject the composite.

I'm interested in this because I have found myself questioning the validity of a composite chart. Not because I don't believe it, I just wonder how valid it is to say that if I'm a sag and you're a libra, then combined we must be scorpio. Just looking for more info!

Hey future_uncertain,

Yeah, personally, I never do much with the Composite Chart but, it must serve some purpose, .... it just happens to elude me! I am still fairly green in astrology but, it never ceases to amaze me. My Hubby and I have our Davison Chart saved to our astro.com database. We even gave us a name; Librani. Kinda funny, as our Sun happens to be placed in Aquarius! We're in the Photo's now... Librani1...

I did find some interesting bits, looking at both the Davison and our Composite a few days ago. Our Composite Sun is 12 Leo( this also is the degree of my Dad's Sun/Pluto/Saturn Stellium..is that right?..)
Anyway, in our Davison the Part of Fortune is at 12 Leo.... What it means? Not the slightest idea but, very cool nonetheless and, only one of a few.

I wish I could be more helpful.... Hubby gets it so much better than I...

Thanks again, Geminstone. It's so cool that your husband gets into this with you. It must be nice to have someone who understands these things. Our composite chart, even while I don't understand why, makes sense for us. I'll look at our Davison and see if I can't figure out what it is that makes these two different in meaning. I'll keep ya posted!

Geminstone~

I compared our composite with our Davison and I have a theory, though it may be flimsy. As a couple you present an image to the outside world, and what really goes on between two people may be entirely different from what external appearances would indicate. For us, it looks like our composite very much reflects our external image... as in how others see us as a couple. The Davison seems to reveal the reality of the relationship. If you get a chance, peek at your composite and let me know if this rings true for you, too. This is just a guess from a brief examination.

Thanks again!

Hey Future_uncertain,

I, so, do not think that your theory is, in any way, flimsy!! In fact, it rings a bell somewhere, for me. Anyhoo! I posted Librani in the photo shop, that being our Davison, I am still getting the Composite together to post it too. In our Composite, the Sun is in Leo 9th House. The 9th/3rd Houses are, also, intercepted, which matches my natals. As I had said before, that Leo Sun is, exactly, conjunct my Dad's Sun/Pluto/Saturn stellium and, yes all 3, well 4 with ours, are at the same degree; 12. My Dad was, very involved, as I am the poster child of the 'Daddy's Girl'... So, that would seem to run with your theory, in a sense, don't you think? As far as the Davison, the Sun is positioned in an Aquarian 8th House and, if the orb is not to far out, it is conjunct a 9th House Eros. Now, with this chart, the 11th/5th Houses are intercepted, the signs who are cusp-less being Taurus(11th)Scorpio(5th). Uranus, North Node and, Vertex, all in Scorpio. Though I cannot explain the how's and why's, I know I have read over the information and, this chart does fit us. I do love to be able to corrospond with those who share the enthusiasm in these and, yes, Hubby being equally interested, (and a much better info retainer), is a bonus. I love it!

My Davison chart with the guy I'm currently involved with has 5 planets (the sun, moon, mercury, venus and jupiter) in the 8th house. Does this mean our relationship is based mostly on sex and power struggles?
