I think my all time favorite comes from "When Harry Met Sally"---

Harry to Sally on New Year's Eve after realizing how badly he misses/loves/needs her:

"...It's just that when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible!"

Also from the same scene (and forgive me if I'm paraphrasing slightly here)

Harry: "I love the way you get that krinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm crazy the way you are now; I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order off a menu; a love that after I've spent a whole day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes...and I LOVE that you're the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night!!"

Sally: "You see that?! That is JUST like you Harry! You say things like that and you make it impossible for me to hate you! And I HATE you Harry! I really hate you! I HATE you..."

***Then, of course...they kiss***

Aah...the movies.

What are some of all YOUR favorite movie scenes or lines?? I may go on a renting spree!!

What a great topic

Mine is from the Prince of Tides.....At the end of the movie, they are in the Rainbow Room and its their last "time" together..
Tom (Nick Nolte) comments on the sadness and Susan (Barbara Streisand) says. " Go on admit it. You love her more"? Tom says,"Not more.... just longer". I cry every time.

There is such a healing quality to that movie.. on the soul level...

I will have to watch the movie again...but it was something like.."Is it you?"..or "Are you the one who is going to change my life?"...Actually here were a few nice lines in that movie!
I wish I could remember it! The movie was, "Somewhere In Time". It starred Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymor.

Wow! Those two lines of dialogue from When Harry Met Sally are the exact lines I was thinking of when I read the thread title!

ALL the dialog in "Before Sunset" (2004) Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. My fav part is the ending where she sings to him and asks him don't you have a plane to catch and he just smiles enigmatically and the movie ends.

Loved that film!

OH THANK YOU Sweet Sue!
Yes! The way they looked at each other! AaaHHHHH....such longing and then joining of the souls!!!!!
Life altering for sure!!!!!
That movie is one of a few good soulmate movies I can think of.
Some others are:
"Dead Again"...Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson
"What Dreams May Come"
and "Deja Vu"
I will have to watch them again for those special lines!
"Defending Your Life"
and also
"Witness"....even though he and the girl did not live happily ever after with each other.
It was still very passionate and soul deep.
Bicentinnial Man...yes..it has some very deep "love and soul deep lines" also.
I cry every time I watch that one.....

I think I'm the only woman alive who has STILL never seen Somewhere In Time, though I've wanted to watch it now for years! Could be a rental in my future this weekend for sure! And I absolutely LOVE "What Dreams May Come!" For any of you who've read or are familiar with Neal Donal Walsh's "Conversations with God" series, in one of the books God explains that that movie provides as accurate a portrayal of heaven as any our human (and thus extremely limited) minds can accept and understand. If you've not yet seen it I highly encourage you watch it--talk about life changing and life affirming!!

Love and Basketball: by far my favorite soul mate movie. My favorite line is when Sanaa Lathan says to Omar Epps I have been loving you since I was 11 and it just won't go away. She says you and me one on one. He says what are we playing for she says your heart.Of couser she loses and when the game is over she is so sad and broken hearted bc that now means that he is going to marry his now girlfriend. She turns and walks away and he says hey beest two out of three and they look at each other and just melt into each other..reminds me of my love bc we both shoot ball and use to played against each other..

fayte.m,
I loved Somewhere In Time, it is one of my all time favorite movies.

[seeing Richard for the first time]
Elise McKenna: Is it you? Is it?

Elise McKenna: The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of, in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him if he were really here? "Forgive me. I have never known this feeling. I have lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, I failed to recognise you? You, who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you". Such would I say to him if he were really here.

Older Elise: Come back to me.

Saw the last part of "Frankie and Johnny" tonight. She tells him:

"I'm afraid of being alone...I'm afraid of not being alone. I'm afraid of what I've become, and I'm afraid of what I might never become. I'm afraid to stay in my job my whole life...but I'm afraid of leaving it. But mostly I'm just so tired...so tired of being afraid..."

I thought well if I can't relate to that, I don't know WHAT I can relate to!! That resonated for me on SOOO many levels. I guess what makes it a soulmate line to me is that she was only able to make that connection, and have that breakthrough vulnerable moment with Johnny...obviously her soulmate.

...and just remembered this from my other favorite soulmate movie (besides When Harry Met Sally) What Dreams May Come...

Christy, attempting to convince Annie to leave heaven (for just a 'second') to go back to earth for the joy of discovering one another all over again. She's a bit worried...

Annie: What if you can't find me?
Christy: I found you in hell didn't I? You think I can't find you in Jersey??

And then the movie ends as it begins...with the line

"When I was a boy...I met the most beautiful girl on a lake..."

the... the truth is, neither
one of us has the slightest idea...

where this relationship is going.

- We can't predict the future.

- We don't have a relationship, Max.

- But we're friends.

- Yes, and that's all we're going to be.

That's all I meant by "relationship".
You want me to grab a dictionary?

Bram Stroker's Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola...

The scene is so powerful... He leans towards her, she just met him... in this lifetime... The monster's tortured soul found his long lost love, the one who he thought lost forever, the only one, the one he sacrificed everything for...

It's breathtaking, it always makes me cry...

Dracula tells Mina: "I have crossed oceans of time to find you..."
