One of the strongest desires within almost all human beings. The desire for not only a sexual mate, but more than that, a consumatory experience. This desire is so deeply rooted, we suffer greatly when it is not met. Why?Is it biological function only? Is it a karmic lesson? Perhaps through union we are able to be "connected again?" Perhaps through union we are able to reconnect with some sort of different reality, a spiritual realm that perhaps we came from? Why do you seek union? IP: Logged |

Just my thoughts, but...We fear utopia, a world where every human unconditionally loves all others. Until then, we practice -- by (trying to, at least) loving one other person unconditionally. IP: Logged |

I think unions are a way of exploring new parts of ourselves that we can't see on our own.Ever notice how when you want to be around someone, if you think about what you like about them.. it's usually something that reflects the beauty of yourself back to you? We usually love those that make us feel especially beautiful, sexy, funny, intellegent, interesting, etc... I think unions are a dance of reflecting back the beauty of ourselves and the Universe... a way of consiously really "knowing" ourselves again. IP: Logged |

All excellent replies, great topic!I think we also need to learn from one another. I was contemplating this very subject just the other day, why are there so many of us here? Why do we crave to be together, with another? IP: Logged |

look at the infinity sign then look at a love heart if you truly love somebody, and your soul is completed, i.e both polarities of you soul form a circut as such then you have near infinite power, the power of love of course when you focus the middle part of the inifity symbol by pushing it downwards towards something it brings the 2 halfs together into a union and has a focal point at the base like a love heart, that's were i am of the opinion of where the love heart comes from so why have this power to do so many things? so you can fullfill your destinyremember nothing satisfies like satisfaction, until you do what you were born to do you'll always be looking for more my two cents anyway IP: Logged |

I think that prior to real maturity it's all just self-validation. We want someone to tell us that we're ok, and that we're going to be ok.I think that it's only once we've reached a point of good self-awareness that we're able to establish for ourselves what traits an ideal mate might have. But then I think it's a matter of companionship and teamwork. IP: Logged |

yeah exactly, i know what you mean i agree with you, but i still beleave that once you know what to ask for it will come to you and that they will be a part of you're destinymaybe i'll change my opinion on that but i'm pretty sure it's valid i also know what you mean about the self validation i think thats why so many people get possesive in relationships IP: Logged |

Great replies guys. It is true, two is often more powerful than one. AG i like how you break it down...it's too bad that sometimes it takes people so long to reach that phase of self-awareness... IP: Logged |

What would be my purpose of union, at this time? I think, to achieve complete euphoria. We all hope for a union in which physically and mentally we will be perfectly in tune with our partners, yet realistically we should expect much less than that. Some people come together simply because their nesting urge is very strong (I can't say mine is); put bluntly, when all's said and done, it's purely biological. I'd say for me that the whole sensual experience (intelligently and gently explored, to ultimate satisfaction) of another's body would play a part. But it would require a powerful physical attraction and incredible anticipation and understanding. (And, of course, no rush. ) Which in turn would demand that both partners be mentally and spiritually in tune with each other. Perhaps we seek reaffirmation of ourselves through seeking union with another; don't we, in our friendships, seek to surround ourselves with people of a similar mindset? IP: Logged |
