I wanted to add this a while ago, but forgot to do so. It's from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Not really a romantic movie, but it is about love. These lines from the movie stuck with me... Joel: I can't see anything that I don't like about you. Clementine: But you will! But you will. You know, you will think of things. And I'll get bored with you and feel trapped because that's what happens with me. Joel: Okay. Clementine: [pauses] Okay. I liked the maturity of it and the acceptance that no relationship will be perfect b/c we carry our imperfections inside us. Well, they're not so much imperfections as our own quirks that make maintaining relationships challenging. But the uplifting thing is that we can accept those parts of ourselves and still love another even when we have those traits. We don't have to be perfect people to love, although I do think being loving helps us become better people. IP: Logged |

Chick flicks or romantic comedies are my favorite pics...I can't think of quotes from all of themWedding Date with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney...I like that he teaches her to stop running away from a perfectly good relationship French Kiss - one of my top 5 favorite movies Pride & Prejudice - The A&E version will always be my #1 favorite version; the recent remake with Keira Knightley is okay, but not as good. Love Affair with Annette Benning & Warren Beatty Bridget Jones's Diary "I like you just the way you are" Under The Tuscan Sun - it has romance, but I like how some of life's truths are woven throughout this movie. My girlfriend Mitzi didn't think it had a 'happy ending' but I definitely think this movie teaches us to make it through the tough times and the ending is more realistic about how life is. Closer. Not a romantic movie. Definitely not a good movie to watch when you're unhappy with your SO. I liked it the first time I watched it, and have seen it several more times since, appreciating it and loving it more each time I watched it.Some lines stuck with me. They're not romantic lines in the conventional sense, but they're honest and real and to me, that's romantic. (Venus in Cap. ) I'm going by memory, so I'm probably not quoting this verbatim. If anyone knows the lines, please correct me. Dan: It was the moment of my life. Alice: This is the moment of your life. Dan: You were a vision. Alice: I still am. Larry: What do you have to do to get some intimacy around here?! Alice: Maybe next time I'll have worked on my intimacy. Some other good ones... Dan: I fell in love. Alice: Oh, as if you had no choice? There's a moment, there's always a moment, "I can do this, I can give into this, or I can resist it", and I don't know when your moment was, but I bet you there was one. Alice: Where is this love? I can't see it, I can't touch it. I can't feel it. I can hear it. I can hear some words, but I can't do anything with your easy words. LTT- If you haven't seen it yet, ESotSM is an excellent movie. Moonstruck. It's my absolute favorite - just watched it last night for probably the 100th time. There are so many good lines in this movie, it'd be hard to list them all. A few of them are:Do you love him Lorena? Oh Ma, I love him somethin awful. That's too bad. I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either. But love don't make things nice, it ruins everything, it breaks your heart, it makes things a mess. We're not here to make things perfect. Snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. We are here to ruin ourselves and break our hearts and love the wrong people and die! The storybooks are bull**** . Someday you'll drop dead and I'll come to your funeral in a red dress! (My personal fave) And finally, one that actually flew out of my mouth while arguing with my ex 4 years after our divorce: What's the matter with you? I mean, you think you're the only one to ever shed a tear? It was hilarious when I watched the movie the next time and realized what I'd done. Quite entertaining. IP: Logged |

Jane,of course it was YOU, who had to mention "Closer". It was the movie that started my whole Jude-Law-madness. Not becuase I particularly liked it or him, but because it and he just didn`t leave my mind afterwards, no matter how I tried. Still trying. And it`s been 3 years, that I have seen that film. Maybe I should just give up. "Dan: I fell in love. " I love these quotes, well not really love them, but they strike a chord within me, mostly a painful one. lol I also loved the quote: "Dan: I hate hurting you. Alice: Then why are you?" And something else from another film(s) got stuck within my mind somehow. "You are attracted to me, aren`t you??" Don`t ask me, why this one. Maybe the way he looks there, or t he way he sais it. Dunno. "This kiss which I kissed every day on my walk." *Deep sigh* I`ve seen far too many films, I guess. DD IP: Logged |

It's a real odd film Closer. The people are unpleasant. No one seems like they are in love. Jude Law was singularly creepy and Clive Owen was just plain pervy. Why is it such an addictive movie? You don't want to be any of them and yet I find myself riveted and repulsed at the same time. Watch it every single time it's on. Bizarre! Guys trust me Bitter Moon. If you like Closer...... Crabby Kitty, your post inspired me to watch Moonstruck a few nights ago. I enjoyed it. It was perfect for the evening. Hmmm... I watched Closer a long time ago and I have a vague feeling that I found something slightly worthwhile in it, but I don't remember what it is... I'll have to watch it again. Oh, my mind is playing snippits of scenes in an apartment. Cheating is involved.. maybe by both people, oh, art gallery, yah, that weird guy Jude Law (hehe sorry girls) yes, creepy is a good word. It ends in a creepy way too I think. But there's a message about being true to your heart but making sure it isn't just momentary or something. Is that right?

Watch it again Mystic if you can. I saw it the first time and thought "What a load of... Then someone else was watching it and I ended up sitting in... Now if it's on? I settle down with a nice cup of tea!I have no idea what message it tries to portray. Never try and transpose a stage play onto a film without altering the dialogue? I mean, who talks like that??? Vile people deserve one another? We are all basically cheats and liars? British people are weird and can't act? Let's be honest the girls acted them off the screen. And please! That bit were Julia has sex with husband so that he will sign divorce papers. Has she never heard of 2 yrs separation? Julia! Just say NO! Why do I watch this? Don't watch it Mystic! You'll end up like me!!!

MM, I'm glad you liked the movie. Bunnies, I watched Closer one time and was so disgusted with all of them except Natalie Portman's character, I never watched it again. As it went on it felt like it was turning into a game of one-upsman to see who could top the last vile deed that had been done. I was dumbstruck by the whole thing. IP: Logged |

The Devil Wears Prada I know, not a love story, but there's a woman, and two men she has feelings for (one she is dating, the other she just sleeps with once) and they both represent who she is within the identity she has to choose during the film. Cliched and oversimplified ending, but the choices and the lifestyles (as well as their representative men) are well illustrated.Eternal Sunshine (was just a good film, anyway) Legends of the Fall (just one I remember I need to see again) Great Expectations (the version I read in high school, sorry not a movie...but it brought to life my take on relationships at the time, the way Pip struggled to improve himself so he'd be good enough for his love interest) Meet Joe Black (the two in this movie had a good love, a good connection...one I think I'd wish for, and one I'm not sure I believe is possible) quote: QUINCE C'mon, have a drink. You look like you need one bad as me. JOE Do I? I'm a little confused. QUINCE Confused, huh? About what? JOE Love. QUINCE 'Love'? Oh, man, I've got troubles of my own. JOE You love Allison, don't you? QUINCE Oh yes, I do. JOE How did you meet? QUINCE I was a world-class loser and she was a happy, little rich girl -- and for some reason she took me in. JOE But she loves you? Quince smiles, nods embarrassedly. JOE (cont'd) How do you know? QUINCE Because there's nothing we don't know about each other and it's okay. I mean the deeper, darkest secrets -- they don't matter. JOE 'The deepest, darkest secrets --'? QUINCE Yeah, it's like you know every inch of each other's souls -- and then you're free. JOE What do you mean 'free'? QUINCE Free to love each other. Com- pletely. Totally. No fear."
Swingers (the two who were smitten in this movie also had a good connection) Smallville (again, not a movie, lol but the first two or three seasons of Clark and Lana, aka Clana...haha...they had great chemistry on this show!) Leo Sun, Leo Rising, Cancer Moon IP: Logged |

Mystic Melody...Your signature... from "Drops of Jupiter", right? I used to hang out with Train. And, umm, kissed a couple of them. But was "in love" with the drummer. Kissed him three times. It's hard to listen to their music at times, now. IP: Logged |

I think all band members deserve kisses. Not sex, but many kisses. Music is more fulfilling to the emotions than most relationships...Now, if anyone else said something to me and I forgot to reply, blame it on yinyang7 for bringing up kissing singers and guitarists and drummers 'n stuff. hmmm.... floating away in thought... did you ever get the chance to kiss a member from the band Train la la lalalala la la lala lala lalalala.....

I agree with City of Angels too. I've had some interesting things happen relating to the music in that movie.I felt a connection to it. And then, at the very end, it says, "For Dawn". My name is Dawn. IP: Logged |

Two of my favorite movies: Hope Floats August Rush The first one has been my favorite since I saw it LOL.. Oddly enough, both have Leo's in the starring role, although Harry Connick Jr (HF) is a Virgo and Keri Russell (AR) is an Aries. The shows just appeal to me because of the tragic start followed by a wonderful ending. I think all Saggies like when a movie has a positive ending. I loved August Rush, as well. I saw Hope Floats, a long time ago, and can't remember much about it.From Waitress: "Jenna: Dear Baby, I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight and that's all they do. They don't pull away. They don't look at your face. They don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness in it. " I finally saw Amelie, last year, and loved it. IP: Logged | |
