Yes, Randall, which is why I'm saying unconditional love doesn't really exist, if we are to use a true definition of "unconditional," and not something bastardized to suit a personal preference. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The closest thing to unconditional love is what the new ageists might call "god love." But on the organized side of things, the Grand Poobah of most religions loves us with a very detailed, very conditional love, which is why we have things like the ten commandments in Christianity. Love your description, Sublime. I have always Loved my 3blessings unconditionally. They are now 20, 18, and 17 years. I began telling them when they were babies "There is nothing you could ever do that would make me not love you. I love you unconditionally , no matter what, and I always will." I still tell them that quite often. And they have grown into exceptional young men. IP: Logged | |
