um, Love?? Ahaha....funny cuz I've been in the longest dry spell everz, so I'm not sure what to think of that? but yeah it's very important for me that I'd need someone who could provide me emotional security. There isnt anyone special in my life...but I do have a crush on someone whom I believe to be a soulmate, does that count? A specific question; would we ever cross paths again? (he lives halfway around the world)...and does he still think about me? As for the fool, very interesting. I've been pondering for awhile now if it's the right decision for my career to move overseas...so that's another question for you Tink...thanks alot! =)

now that I dont have a job it's no surprise ... If you mean in general, I am not into money or material possessions, of course it would be nice to have lots of money and do whatever I want to do but it's not top priority in my life so I am usually ok with what I have

A man is holding a pair of scales in his left hand, while giving alms to beggars with his right hand. There are two beggars in rags kneeling before him and he is kindly giving them money. How does this image make you feel, and do you have any personal associations that come to mind regarding giving money to beggars?

personal associations? yes, maybe, I dont give money to every beggar I see, I do it only when I feel like doing it

Another thing: I dont see myself as a successful and/or lucky person. I am not successful,so the card being RX makes sense

Hi guys! Thanks a million for all the responses! I'm in Korea (English teacher) so my day starts when the previous day ends on the other side of the world, so sorry for only getting back to y'all now. Some days I have a lot of free time, some days not, today being one of the latter, so you won't be hearing from me for another couple of hours. very cool. (i have sag stellium in the 1st and scorpio stellium in the 12th )

I was looking for images of the prince cups but wouldn't find it. There doesn't seem to be a prince cups card in the Rider Waite deck... or is it another name for the page of cups?

anyways, i think you've peaked my interest in tarot in this post and i'm just wondering more about it through how you got sarted, so no rush on getting back to me on that. Seems like u have your hands full already at this point!

Sag stellium in 1st and scorpio stellium in 12th ... hectic!!! : D Well yes it's funny I should end up in Korea because my Venus in the 8th is Sag, which one interpretation I've read says means earning money overseas : ) Go figure. Anyway lotion, you're absolutely right, there is no prince of cups in the rider waite deck. It is in fact from the Crowley deck, or "Thoth deck". In the Thoth deck there is no page, but a prince and a princess instead : )

Lotion: Your ignorance is duly excused!!! Well I've had a few decks but my favorite is the Crowley deck because it's really puzzling! I do my readings with the crowley deck and then refer to the images from the Rider-Waite, as they are the best known images ... what you might call the "standard" or "archetypal" images.
So anyway lotion, let's carry on with your reading:
First I'll answer your question as to how I came to study the tarot ... Well, when I was a bit younger I went through a tough time emotionally and a friend gave me a book by the German author Hermann Hesse, called "Steppenwolf". I was so amazed by this book, which matched a lot of my feelings, thoughts and fantasies at the time, that when I learned it had been inspired by Jungian psychology I started reading up on Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. Hesse had been treated by him and many themes from Steppenwolf came from Jungian thought. Well I took to Jung like a fish to water. Jung was a friend of Freud and took Freud's dream interpretation theory further. Jung said that besides just the personal unconscious Freud talekd about there is something called the "collective unconscious" or universal mind. This collective mind thinks in pictures, not words, and there are certain broad themes or archetypes that are very powerful and that influence the individual greatly. Jung thought that if one could teach oneself about these universal themes, or archetypes, using symbols and pictures, one could heal one's psyche and/ or grow as a person. These universal themes, archetypes, often come up in dreams, and by interpreting dreams one can understand one's own soul. Later on I thought to myself that since I personally find it hard to remember my dreams, maybe one could use an alternative source of these universal, archetypal images/ themes such as the tarot. That's why I started studying the tarot : )

Now on to your first comments. You said:
- "science doesn't click with me"
- "disconnect from the material"
- hard to communicate feelings and insights to the majority of scientifically minded people
- you wondered if the "end" of one search means the beginning of another
- you identified with the littlest girl in the death card, the one who seems shocked but brave

Well, here are my thoughts:
First of all, you are 100% right to feel that the end of one thing begins something new. The fact that you were drawn to notice the changing sun (rising and falling) in the death card signifies to me a sensitivity on your part to the inner currents of your soul, and if you feel your journey is still not at an end, it probably isn't!
I know very well the feeling of being unable to communicate insights to my un-esoteric friends. If only I had a cent for each time someone looked at me like I was crazy!! Personally I would advise you to not press it too much ... The excitement of wanting to communicate your thoughts, feelings and insights are perhaps better directed at a journal, or even better, poetry or art. Disconnecting from the material is actually a real danger ... a trap I've fallen into myself. You need to have something mundane that grounds you ... like a really boring job, lol : )
Now on to your love life:
It struck me that you have both the princess and the prince of cups in one reading. They are like an emotional power-couple, meant to go together, and actually they are both inside you. They are what Jung calls the animus and anima. Animus or anima means "soul". If your female your image for your soul will be male, and vice versa. In love, we tend to see ourselves in our partners. The fact that your relationship made you seek deeper into yourself for growth clearly shows me that your soul is speaking to you! So let's say the prince of cups is an image we can use to think about your soul, and from that, your love life ... I mean if you are still growing it is indeed possible that you will outgrow your current relationship. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't put everything into it : )
So how does the prince of cups remind you of your present relationships, and what jumps out at you from the pic?
