In a couple months I may do this again.Another option is looking at the native american zodiac for a totem. I have found those to be accurate for totems both the directional and the month animal. http://www.xtraastrology.com/native_american_astrology/native_american_totems.html If you have a favorite animal that is most likely a totem, or say you had one as a child that was most likely a totem at that time period and may continue to be one now. For example, I loved wolves and great white sharks as a kid, and the wolf continues to be a totem (albeit one that comes up much less frequently) and the shark has never appeared clairvoyantly and I think was only there during a trying period in my life. I've always loved foxes and tigers and those are still prominent totems for me . Also animals that appear in an unlikely manner or pop up on items that you feel like purchasing or purchase are likely totems (as in Minna's case). Foxes and butterflies have made an unusual appearance for me and owls have made their way onto my messenger bag (this happening when I was an atheist). When I was a child I was afraid of snakes and they still make me uncomfortable which I know to be my shadow totem. As strange as this sounds, if you had a wild animal attack you.. lets say a cougar or snake, that is likely a totem. It is common for some powerful totems to attack you as a sort of test. People chosen as shaman will even have their totems turn on them and devour them in the astral realm and rebuild them as the shaman mythos describes. If you like a totem and really want it, they do respond to flattery. If you start buying penguin stuff everywhere and leave out offerings that the penguin totem likes or donate to the right charity, you may attract that totem's energy, or say you need it during a cycle in your life. Some however like the grizzily totem when they come to you are lifelong totems and so they might be a little picky. I know time wise I spent about the time it takes to do a clairvoyant reading for you in this response, but suffice it to say the situation is more complex than that and this was a bit easier to do .

Again, I most likely can't do any more over my limit at this point in time, but might do readings again in another couple months or so. If you want, you can contact me again later through this forum addressing me for a totem reading and I'll try my best, however my clairvoyance may not be as accessible as it is now and I may only be able to come up with one.Ami and Randall, due to your seniority and all you do for this site I will definitely try to get you totem readings. If it's more than two weeks from now I'll create a separate post for you and tell them there. Edit: I'm going to need a day or two before I can do any more readings. Sorry. IP: Logged |

Dear Mochai,Thank you so much for your time & energy, for doing a totem reading for me.. I really appreciate it! The jaguar, crab, scorpion, boa constrictor and frog are new to me, but I have felt a connection with dragonflies and rabbits before. I read through the descriptions, and probably need to continue reading so I can absorb what each one means.. but I wanted to say, I am truly amazed that your intuition could reach so far, and grateful for your gift.. Thank you once again!!! Sunshine IP: Logged |

Snarly,It could be because I am sick, but my clairvoyance isn't so good now. I said I would get back to you on totems, so I wanted to make sure I had something for you and lian today. As of right now I can only see octopus for you. http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/octopus.htm I may have seen a porcupine totem and I did see a large bird of some sort. Edit: Fox http://morningstar.netfirms.com/foxtotem.html Pig http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/boar.htm Porcupine confirmed http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/porcupine.htm Barn Owl this may be another type of owl http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/OwlTotem.html Lian, I know you are from the orient, but I saw a western fire breathing dragon with you. I'm fairly certain it was a red dragon. Due to my experience with western dragon totems, I'll leave it at that. Fire Dragon Transmutation, Mastery, Energy This powerful totem brings vitality, enthusiasm and courage. He will help you overcome obstacles and give you qualities of leadership and mastery. He can fuel your inner fires. He can be a powerful protector. In a few days I'm going to try to get another reading in, and I may try to go back to yours and snarly's and get more if clairvoyance is more permitting and just edit it in here. Edit: Butterfly http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/butterfly.htm Camel (showed up a lot) http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/camel.htm Hippopotamus http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/hippopotamus.htm Owl Most likely one I'm not familiar with.. I'm getting different breeds http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/OwlTotem.html I know both you and snarly had owls come up but I took pains to try to ensure that there wasn't psychic contamination of any sort. Lian thanks. I prefer not to talk about some of my more shamanic experiences, but totems have personality. I don't specifically have a fire dragon totem that I'm aware of but know enough about them to take steps to revere them if you will. The totem I had experience with was a fire breathing green dragon, but more earth oriented if you will. Fire dragons are a totem you don't mess with and is definetely one of the more powerful ones. I have chinese totems, but don't have ancestory etc there. I did seem to like my incarnation there though.Yrone, for you I saw Gray wolf http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/wolftotem.html Iguana http://funkman.org/animal/reptile/iguanafamily.html Land Tortoise http://www.petandwildlife.com/animal-totems/tortoise-totems-h ave-a-strong-psychic-connection-to-mother-earth.html Butterfly http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/butterfly.htm Domestic Cat likely linked to another wild species that is also a totem http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/cat.htm Edit: mallard duck (I love it when the species are simple) http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/ducks.htm Starfox, I had to stop with yours or else I was going to spoil you with totems or not quite remember them all.. You seem to be a totem magnet. They came in strong and fast.
Grizzily http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/grizztotem.html North American Fox (english foxes may still show up that's just the specific area that came up when I asked type) http://morningstar.netfirms.com/foxtotem.html Great White Shark if you're afraid of it.. http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/ShadowShark.html if you're not The Shark is a totem of fearlessness and confidence. Sharks have incredibly sensitive noses that can smell one drop of blood in 50 million times as much water. They can feel the pressure waves made by a struggling fish and are sensitive to electromagnetic currents. They teach those with this totem how to develop and refine their own sensory abilities. The study of aromatherapy would benefit those with this medicine. Shark people are traditionally loners and in order to remain centered may require time to themselves. If they do not have this important time alone they can become irritable, anxious and aggressive in their behavior. The Shark offers the power of protection to those who resonate to it. In the course of our life's learning we can attract events and people that are disharmonious. When there is something in your life that you need to frighten away call upon the shark to help you. Working with shark medicine gives you the power and confidence to drive off the negative. Rabbit http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/rabbit.htm Snake.. looked about the size of an adult garter snake but wasn't that http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/snake.htm lion sometimes a domestic cat connects to a wild cat.. but you had both show up http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/cat.htm http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/lion.htm Eagle I would love to say what kind it is, but I kept drowning in a sea of totems when I tried to get the species as figuring out species of bird is a little more time consuming clairvoyance-wise and other totems would keep showing up http://wolfs_moon.tripod.com/baldeagletotem.html Edit: Rat http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/rat.htm IP: Logged |

People get the totems they tend to need most which makes them very powerful for the individual. Besides, sometimes I can't see a totem or some more powerful ones don't show up for whatever reason. One totem I have I'm not supposed to talk about. D'oh, I hope snarly got the update. I'll try to get through at least one more by Sunday evening and try to get through abcdefg's by thursday. Mochai, thank you very much.Your totem findings are very very accurate regarding to where I think I am headed. I have a question I wanted to ask already some days ago but didn't as to not possibly influence. Last year, I found in a second hand shop a little blue elephant pendant. At first I didn't want to buy it, but it just didn't leave me alone, so later I went back and got it. It's been with me ever since. And then, last Saturday I think, but definetly after I asked you for a reading, I found three stones on the sink put together in a pattern totally looking like a duck. Should I consider them too? Thanks for the feedback. I'm still really new to this so it definetely helps. I've never tried to do clairvoyant readings together like this.Yrone, my memory is notoriously bad. I know someone had an elephant totem that did not make it to the site, and there may have been a duck totem too. I did feel bad that I had fewer on yours so I tried to look again for you specifically just now enquiring if you had an elephant and one did show. Ducks are harder to see so next time I do a clairvoyant reading for someone I'll look to see if you have a duck at the end of the reading when I can see better. If I find one I'll add it on the end of your totem post. Starfox, you did get powerful totems. I just hope for your own sake you're not a shaman Shyvirgo for personal reasons I can't do things like this all the time. If you're still around in a month or two you can come back and address me here and I should be able to answer then, provided I'm not already doing too many. IP: Logged |

I'm exceedingly loquacious today so don't feel like you need to listen to all of this. To go through an initiatory crisis and everything is very hard. Sure you can learn shamanic skills in the courses but it's different when you're chosen to be one. You have to die a lot and face a lot of your fears. I've heard of one woman who became homeless for many years and was raped during her shamanic initiation. I suppose it's the worst for your ego. It's not something I saw myself doing when I was told before the dismemberments I had that it was my life's purpose. I'm still not a shaman and I may have one more dismemberment, and there's a part of me that is fighting tooth and nail, denying the whole shamanic side or things I've experienced just for fitting in's sake. In many traditions it's said the more suffering, the more powerful the shaman.. you have to push out a large part of yourself to make room for something larger or greater. Some shaman train for 10 plus years plus with many years of hardships before the event, and many fail to put it nicely and never return to sanity. I don't care what other people tell you shamanism is at it's heart a form of self-mastery. My perspective is however rather limited, and the dismemberments I experienced really weren't all that bad. In fact I had one practicing shaman tell me that if I wasn't terrified during the dismemberments it wasn't shamanic. I was never lost in my own world, but if I ever get nightmares I historically run up fearlessly to the thing that's causing it and do something rather than cower in fear. That's a very shamanic thing to do. I'm not surprised you dabbled in it given your gizzily totem. It's a common shaman totem. I feel rather undeserving of mine.. the devotion factor is huge. The caring/healing part is very compulsive for him (they sometimes have names too). Perhaps you'd do well journeying and you could get a better feel for that totem. I still haven't formally journeyed much. It's something I need to pick up but I'm still in rebound mode. The realms or tunnels happen rather naturally when I do clairvoyance but I'm told I block my clairaudience. The only other thing I dislike about shamanism is you have to spend a lot of time pleasing your totems etc. I tried to ask my totems clairvoyantly what they wanted, and I got that they wanted me to make them a cake every month or season, a glass of milk every month, a jar of honey every month, and there's likely more but I was probably only dialogueing with certain totems and had stopped at that point. They like tobacco and alcohol too. In some traditions it's dancing their dance to please them so that they can feel physical life again. It doesn't help that most people just don't understand so you can be a little alone even past the stigma and problems incurred with the initiation. Most people who become shaman didn't have shamanism in mind when they were looking at occupations. Oh yeah, you -have- to ground every day . IP: Logged |
