I actually see little benefit in dragging up a person's past, and giving it an astrological cause, unless of course they request it.

Talking is good, sharing is good, but the person themselves should decide when and how.

I felt obliged to post my chart after being asked, I'm on an astrology forum, so it makes sense to share it than not. But now a large percentage of my suffering is on a public forum, for the purposes of proving that astrology directs your life.

Something doesn't feel quite right about this, and I will be editing the relevant posts.

I have nothing to hide. My entire school knew what was happening with me at the time, and I was not treated badly for it, my close friends are aware, I've been dealing with psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, counsellers, and doctors for 16 years - I have no trouble talking about my past. That isn't what this is about.

It's about using someone's difficulties to justify the accuracy of an art. I just don't feel comfortable with how this was done here, and I've seen how badly handled other people's stories have been also.

I feel the same as I did prior to this - the key to healing is not finding the reason WHY things have happened to you, because too often in life there are a myriad of reasons, causes, choices and circumstances that lead a person to the experiences they have. What is more important than trying to answer why (which you could spend your whole life doing, and die still asking), is WHAT - what am I going to use this experience for? And HOW - how can I transform this experience into something useful for myself and others. Astrology, from what I have seen so far, can't achieve that alone - I can see however that it may lead to a better understanding of the self, so it may be useful in those terms.

Between the inaccurate assumptions about my condition, and what's said about my past, I just don't know if there is any room for ME to be known here anymore.

there is no need to delete your posts. Yourself and the reading have done nothing wrong. It is my perception of receiving a reading where the focus is on past trauma, that doesn't feel right to me, as an individual. I feel it presumes to explain things that really cannot be explained by astrology alone.

I did not know the direction the reading would take, so please do not feel I have messed you about, I construct opinion as I go along.

It is the presumption of 'why' that bothers me about this, and the focus on it.
In particular the Child/Sun aspect. It didn't feel right to me to believe that this caused what happened in my childhood. And then I realised I was getting caught up in the why, which I realised a long time ago is a road to nowhere.

I am a staunch advocate of knowing yourself, and how you become to be who you are now. And in transforming experience into something useful in the world. These are my hopes for astrology. I felt the reading was entering into territory where it makes statements that can be damaging and inaccurate, and go against what I believe in - this is just a consequence, it is not a fault of yourself or astrology, it's just how it went.

I have seen just how much effort you put into reading people on this site, and like I said before, I very much appreciate the effort and time you extended to me. I have learned several things from this experience, but the direction it was taking did not seem like a positive one for me to take.
