Yes, that`s right; maybe that`s another reason why aspects to the angles are felt so strongly.

Of course you need to take the individual sign and houseplacements into consideration. That is why I said "a bit". It is only comparable to a Venus/Pluto conjunction in so far as we can see similiarities of the 7th house with Venus and the 8th house with Pluto.
It IS of course a connection of 7th house-themes with 8th house themes, on the ground of the sign and house where those rulers are located.

But what is very clear is that this is a very relationship-oriented combo.
