I don’t think you need to worry much about you relationship at this point. I think you are mainly scaring yourself, which makes you feel the whole relationship is ungrounded and causes you this nervousness. Try to clam yourself a bit down if you can.

For what you should know about him at this point. I do think he is having a bit of a tough time at the moment. Not so much in regards to his feelings for you, but he seems a little bit ‘lost’ at the moment emotion-wise. He possibly might try to fix that by overindulging on drinks a bit which is actually not very advisable, because it will cause mood swings and that will confuse him a bit more.
For your relationship: I can see it is difficult for the both of you being away from each other and it currently feels like a break (feels! I'd say I used to wear those rose tinted glasses in the past (until back in 4-5 years time), and men really tried to take advantage of me because of this, although there wasn't any "physical" happening, just emotional stuff. I was too young. There were men who even made fun of me, because I revealed my true feelings.

Then I became closed off, built some walls that nobody could break. Now I'm in the process of trusting people (esp. men) again, but it's a really slow process and I think I'm really not finished just yet.

In that case it is actually also possible you might have showed up as the knight of swords RX, but just see how it works out (never bad to keep your eyes open ;-)and if it was you, I would expect you to open up more to love at the end of that period, getting really ready for it.

It's not a problem, because I learn from the interpretations as well. I really like to grasp any new information, especially that now I'm on learning curve of self-knowledge (and tarot, of course.)

Over analysing like you wrote would fit this knight.
There are 1000's of meanings, but I generally read the reversed knight as someone who is very pushy, sometimes even abusive (it comes up for big mouthed online bullies). But I can also see him for having problems getting close, because his mind and thoughts are in the way..
So for 'mental illness' I would more see him along the lines of someone who is socially awkward/doesn't know how to connect to people (if taken to extremes).
For depression I expect other sword cards like 9 of swords and 8 of swords or the moon for example...

We've been together for a little over 2 1/2 years. He asked me to marry him in May of 2012. After that, because of my own actions, He thought that I had cheated on him, or that I was planning on it, and he withdrew from me. I never did cheat and never would.

At this point I just feel like I'm still earning his trust back over something that never even happened. And there are times when I feel like I KNOW he wants to be with me and wants me for his wife, but there are other times when that tainted feeling is back where he doesn't want to be intimate or share his day/feelings with me..

this rings completely true.

it is a very sweet, gentle, and caring partnership. the missing each other is dead on. we miss each other before we even say goodbye! i last saw him sunday. he lives two hours away so can visit each other - but not see each other everyday because of our work schedules. he's coming to visit me again saturday. he always tells me he misses me and vice versa. even if it's only been a few hours since we talked on the phone (at night) he'll say he's missed talking to me..

and yes about the non-confrontational thing. i would be more of the argumentative one. either way, there is a lot of empathy in our relationship.

a note on the 8 of pents: i'd say this might definitely describe how he's been in working towards our relationship. he liked me since the first time he saw me and waited a long time to see me again but admitted (even though he was worried he was gona sound creepy) that he thought about me everyday in the time period. how. sweet. is. that.

i definitely see the 3 of cups for us. i also wonder if it could be representative of how i feel our relationship could be karmic (based on feeling and astrology indicators of course)

If it was you I would have interpreted the cards different. That's the thing with a new deck, it communicates different then what I'm used to. I wanted to specificly use this deck for people 'showing up' in future. Cards need some more programming.

If you:
Knight swords RX - Wheel Fortune RX - Ace cups.
Extra: 3 swords rx + 8 cups

So: Unable to move forward in love life, because of trust issues & problems expressing needs. Possibly a bit paranoid (because of the taking advantage of). In the future chance for re-opening & connecting to feeling loved & love, once realising how past hurts (and your behaviour coming from that) effect you in your here&now. Will need some more work.

I would like to re-read your cards with my RW-deck though, because I'm just not completely sure about this. I'll do it in your other thread. Not sure if it will be this weekend, but otherwise next week

Yes, with your reading these cards were actually very clear for me.
Hermit + 6 cups reversed.
Sorry to hear he has trust issues and he thinks you cheated on him.
Your advice was strength, keep on confirming him. Altough it seems like he must make this work himself (and his insecurities and jealousy issues), because he seems 'stuck' on this idea.
I hope for you he can work past this!
