Does anyone here like to read? Do you read a lot or a little?I'm reading A Tale of Two Cities for school (and for the second time). I'm also reading a book called Men In Arms, about the relationship between warfare and western society. And I just finished UFO: The Continuing Enigma, being a level- headed analysis of UFOology. What about you?

Was it a skeptical book on UFOs? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

it goes through phases with me, there's times I don't read at all & then all of a sudden I read like a madwoman. depends on the book. I read more english than french but if a book was originally written in french, I'll read it in french. I like reading in french aswell, coz the way the french write is so...poetic & melancolic (especially the classics)IP: Logged |

Zerep- I saw a comic in the New Yorker: two women talking, and one says to the other,"My husband is having his library translated into French- they just lose something in the original." It was a sceptical book. The end conclusion was that although these people were not crazy and were sincere, they were seeing things. A message from the unconscious, perhaps, but whatever they were, they weren't really aliens. ------------------ No longer mourn for me when I am dead Than you shall hear the surly sudden bell Give warning to the world that I am fled From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell. -Shakespeare IP: Logged |

Maybe it's more complicated than that. But I don't think it's as simple as nuts-and-bolts flying saucers. And real in-the-flesh alien abductions, too.------------------ No longer mourn for me when I am dead Than you shall hear the surly sudden bell Give warning to the world that I am fled From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell. -Shakespeare IP: Logged |

It does seem to happen to those who are not the most "credible" of witnesses. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Well... some are and some aren't. There are cute little discrepancies here and there, but I do think life exists somewhere else in the universe, and its possible earth was visited in the past ( ).A meeting with the unknown.... what will come next?

Cool thought. I saw a book in the library called "Colony: Earth"; I tried to read it, but it was horribly dull, so I don't know what the guy's arguments are. Could you summarize the ideas... readably? Linda made references to this kind of thing, as does David Icke (I think). But von Daniken was thinking of things a little differently, right? ------------------ No longer mourn for me when I am dead Than you shall hear the surly sullen bell Give warning to the world that I am fled From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell. -Shakespeare IP: Logged |

I love books. They're my favorite kinds of presents. I don't think I have a particular favorite, but do have several that I always remember. One of them is "Summer of My German Soldier." It's about a teenage young lady who meets a German soldier who has run away from the service. They share a very deep, transcendental love. Aphrodite IP: Logged |

Sort of... its about an Andalusian shepherd boy who dreams of buried treasure and goes to look for it. He learns many things along the way- while guided by an alchemist- and the book's final lesson is that you need to follow your dreams and trust to "fate" or hatver you want to call it. It talks a lot about reading signs and omens, and it's just a great book, ecxiting, beautifully written, and very deep. I highly recommned it! ------------------ Hello everybody, I used to be QueenofSheeba. Love you too! IP: Logged |

I love books and Like Aphrodite they are my favorite gift. Alchemist is highly recommended. It is written in simple language but has such a deep meaning. A Wonderful book to inspire somebdy to follow their dream. My favorite books include The Diary of Anne Frank, Little Women, Gone WIth the Wind, Scarlett, The Alchemist, The Prophet (Kahlil Gibran, a persian writer and off course I read the translated version, it is recommended) I like Shakepeare's plays too including Macbeth, Merchant of Venice, Measure for Measure, Twelfth Night,Hamlet. Tell me about some good books to read? Orion Enjoy! IP: Logged |
