what's going on ? is it such a big deal that the french are not going to war ? that french fries become freedom fries...?

Is it not a little bit of an overreaction? I mean it's not ONLY france that isn't backing the US > (without considering the UK ) no-one else wants to go to war. Germany isn't backing the US up either, but people aren't calling german sheperds Freefom sheperds !?

I don't want to come across aggressive but freedom fries ? come on !

Yah, that's probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Boycotting names aren't even original, when Europe was against Germany in World War I and II, they tried to do away with anything German related. They got rid of music, art, and food. One food that had a german name, was changed to hotdog as we know now.

I heard about that. It should be noted that despite their ardent anti- war stance, the French gov has opened the possibility of sending troops to Iraq.

The ever- changing positions of the French gov? But today, Chirac said that a US/ UK- run Iraq will not be accepted, and that the UN must be allowed to do the reconstruction. So he still has some back bone.

What irritates me is that he spent all that air talking about how the US shouldn't invade, then turns around and offers troops if Saddam uses WOMD. It just looks suck- uppy, is all. No offense to Zerep, I hope.

none taken - our president is a bit of a joke, but he's better than the other one that was nearly elected but I think there's more to it than that. There's always a hidden agenda when it comes to politicians as much on this side of the atlantic as the other. but he isn't as much a lick as blair , who is a total lap-dog to Bush. I don't think Chirac is sucking up, he's keeping his options open. He wants saddam gone as much as the rest but he (& the french) don't want a war. that's the basics of it.

Z-Here in the US, everyone's saying that the reason the French don't want a war is that Saddam owes them $60 million in oil debts or something like that. Is that correct? Seems like the perfect way to make the French look greedy.

Randall- whatever call them, let's decide on a name and stick with it!

nah I don't believe that. the french get their oil from Iran anyway. But people will come up with all sorts of stories to make the other party look bad.

Randall:you may aswell call them french fries again, it's like french kissing, only the french do it properly

Our seniors (students) are going to Paris!!!

At first they were canceled, but some wonderful French famlies opened their homes to them and they`ll get to attend the schools for a week. They personally will show them Paris.

What wonderful generous souls to do this. The students worked so hard to save for the trip & their dream is realized!!!
