Ok here's the story, for a very long time now I've been playing with this video game on PlayStation.
So everything was going great until I got to disc 3, and for some reason the disc won't work. I didn't really notice any scratches other then tiny ones but even when I cleaned them it still didn't work. For some reason it keeps pausing everytime the scenes of the game are cutting.
I'm extremely upset because I was working on the game for so long.

Anyway can someone please tell me what to do I can't just give up on this game. It's still able to play but like I said it pauses. I'm very upset with this! My friend was going to give me his disc until he realized he didn't have it anymore.

What are your suggestions?

Or even better, if you have this game can I make a promise that I'll take good care of it, if you mail me the game, so I could finsh playing? I promise I'll mail it back once I'm done...PLEASE! I'm desperate to finish it. If not, then thats ok too!

It worked fine the first time!

It was the easiest FF game, IMO. Lion Heart's just plain cheesy. I was too chicken to fight out Omega Weapon, though. was trying to figure out a way to beat his cheesiness w/o transforming the Laguna card... that one was a b*tch to get.

I like FF9's ending better. Story was unraveled better than 8. But my fave is 8... lol.. I'm contradicting myself.

No I disagree, from all the ff games it was sort of weird with the gf's loosing hp instead of you losing mp... that was a bit mad. but there are two ways the game can sway, either you play normally & your characters become strong fighters or else you are totally dependent on the g-forces & your characters are weak. It's not exactly easy because there is so much to do (seed levels, cards, secret gfs, secret missions...) but the weapons are the most annoying, having to look for all those rare objects was a pain. Then there's ultima weapon & omega weapon > I bet both of them, but its true, omega is quite a nasty piece of work. Having said all that it is still my fav because collecting all the cards was good fun (except for laguna I agree & also alexander...because of the 'random' rule) I enjoyed the story line, the love story was amazing. PLUS there are lots of theories open for debate but I wont mention them because it will spoil it for Star (the ending is fantastic!!!) ff8 being my 1st final fantasy, I found the ending breathtaking & I don't think any other ff ending has lived up to it yet. so I find this game one of the best I've played with zelda right behind it as I've mentioned in another thread...

Star I hope you get your hands on the disc you need because it will be worth it! if you need help in the game or tips or where are objects, quests, cards, bla bla... you can ask me I know this game inside out having played it numerous times.

Well... in a sense it does make sense. The GF is "protecting" you, so to speak.

Actually you can be totally dependent on your gf and still have very strong characters. When I played through the first disc I almost never attacked... just Draw and summon GF. Then when you get Restore, Recover and Treatment you can go cheap on Lion Heart.

I still think it was the easiest. Lion Heart is cheap. And I think I mentioned that for the umpteenth time.

Now... ff9... love that game. Ozma is cool... except he's a big sphere of... blob.

I couldn't beat Ozma I got bored... heh
I enjoyed ff9 but I liked ff7 better, even with the dreadful graphics, they were good for their time. The materia thing was a bit confusing...?

The problem with Ozma is there's no "technique" to defeat him, unlike FF7's two weapons and FF8's Omega weapon. You have to rely on brute force and luck. But I managed to defeat Ozma at level fifty-something. My party was Zidane-Freya-Amarant-Dagger. Zidane is the heavy hitter. I really beefed up his thievery skill (9900+ for 8mp?! I didn't even notice it went up to that, coz I can steal 2-3 items per monster). Since disc one Zidane RARELY attacks, always steals, unless the creatures already naked. Amarant and Dagger are healer. Amarant's Chakra and Aura are very valuable. Freya's Rei's Wind casta Regen on the party, so it's also a good thing to have, otherwise, she uses Lancer. Dagger is my main healer. My only problem really with Ozma is when he casts Meteor and wipes out my whole party (but it's very rare), and the one which he berserks my party. But the berserk is easy to counter... just use gysahl. Managed to pull it off after 5 tries.

At one point he never attacks ang keeps casting curaga on himself for about 8000hp. No problem... Thievery does 9900. I could've beefed it more to reach 9999, but what the hell.

It's quite funny coz a lot of people are having a hard time with Ozma but has an easy time with Ruby, Emerald and Omega. but me, I had a harder time with emerald and omega that ozma. I didn't like fighting ruby coz I had to kill off my characters... Am quite a perfectionist and I wanna finish a battle with none of my characters dead. And yes, I did that with ozma.

Since we're in the topic of RPG's...

Anybody played Valkyrie Profile? The story's really good... t'was the presentation of the story that sucks, but Lezard Valeth made it all worth it. C'mon, with that perfectly insane mad genius laugh? You gotta love 'im. Besides... combos look really cool there... especially great magic.

Good news everyone!

Although I couldn't get my game fixed, very soon I'll be buying PlayStation2, and will look forward to playing Final Fantasy X!

I'm still sad though, because that game was so good, and now I can only look at it.

Can someone please tell me in full detail, the ending of Final Fantasy 8? Do Squall and Rinoa get married?

Lesee, they all jumped into a space-time warp initiated by Ellone, and then defeated Ultimecia. However, they all got separated afterwards, which is fatal since they have to get back out of the warp together or something. Rinoa found Squall but he was unconscious and dying. Can't remember how they escaped there, but they did. And then they all went back to Balamb garden and squall was videotaping the characters (Zell choked on eating too many hotdogs. ) And then he videotaped Rinoa on the balcony and battery went dead. However, the fmv continued and Rinoa help up one finger again similar to what she did at the dance and then they shared a kiss (awww... how sweet). However, you don't get to see it too much coz the camera zoomed out at that exact moment.

FFX? Cool. I wanna get Devil May Cry, though. Damn that game's cool.

Zell chokes on the hot dogs, that sounds great. Oh man, you finally get to see him eat one too, darn!
Anyway, everyone said it was the greatest ending, in video game history.
I feel really bad, since that 3rd disk, just cannot be salvaged for me!

Oh well, I can't wait for Final Fantasy X, I'm going to get it tommorow!

The greatest Final Fantasy game was VII, it had the best battle system, best bad guy (Sephiroth,) the most intimate storyline, and the greatest reason to have chocobos (Knights of the Round Materia.)I mastered that game, like no other! It was the best game ever.

no it was selphie that had the camera, then Irvine... keeps the suspence on wether squall is still alive or not, then you see rinoa on the balcony talking to someone but is it squall or seifer? then after the credits, you see it was squall & then he kisses rinoa.

Was it? I saw both of them in the video. *shrugs* ah well...

Best battle system definitely goes to Tales of Eternia, followed by Valkyrie Profile. Maybe it's just me... but I like real-time battle systems. Besides, spells are really cool in VP. They actually chant them.

Personal Fave quotes from VP
"Ye must desire respite from thy empty existence. Thou shalt have it!" -Celestial Star chant
"Tch. Getting the attention of a goddess isn't very easy, is it?" - Lezard Valeth
"Did you like that, Lady Valkyrie? NYAHAHAHA!!!" - Lezard Valeth
"It shall be engraved upon your soul! Divine assault! Nibelung Valesti!" - Lenneth Valkyrie
"Feast your eyes on me. It'll be your last vision of beauty." - Mystina

Gotta love 'em VP quotes. Especially Lezard Valeth's insane mad genius laugh. Just perfect.

Well, if you have played VP before you'll know what exactly that demented guy did just to get her attention. He created "vessels" from elven bodies to contain gods into mortal bodies. He did it so he could get Lenneth into one fo them so he can have her all to himself. In the intro, he even kissed one of them.

He was sick. And really cool. Besides, there is one scene that is really funny involving him, Mystina, and Arngrim.

Lezard: Come now, must we quarrel amongst friends?
Mystina & Arngrim : (really PO'ed) WHO'S YOUR FRIEND?!?!?!?!?!
