The other day I was hanging out at my friend's house. He lives in a very conservative, uptight neighborhood, so we made signs that read
"Workers of the World Unite... Overthrow Bush!" and put them up at an intersection. Yesterday he told me that the signs had been taken down and an article about the incident had appeared in the local newsletter. Isn't rebellion great?

PS- to anyone who read this and frowned: I'm not really a communist.

Tell him to feel free to mail Bush back the tax cut he received last year.

I'd love to, Randall, but he's 15. We don't pay taxes yet, however if Bush wanted to send me money in the mail it'd be great!

Zerep- Well, I dunno how Bush plans on helping the economy. I could tell you what I think, but then this would get political very quickly...

Okay, I'm getting political. I think Bush really doesn't know how to help the economy.
When he came into office there was a huge surplus. First he got rid of it with a bunch of tax cuts; then he turned it into a deficit with the War on Terror; then he made it a really deep deficit by attacking Iraq and promising funding for all these projects that there really isn't any money for. The feds are rather short of revenue right now, but he refuses to do the math and is proposing another round of tax cuts (isn't he?) so then we'll be in an even bigger deficit.

How does this tie into the economy? If Bush hadn't gotten us so deeply into dept, there might have been a bit of money left over for aid packages, etc. His current idea of economic stimulus is to give rich people tax cuts and hope for a 'trickle- down' effect. Meanwhile, the economy continues to be stinky.

Now do we have something to talk about?

We can just print more money. Blame it on inflation.

I was considering learning French the other day, so I don't think of myself as a French- hater. For other Americans, I don't know. But the US and Europe have never gotten along very well; American anti- Frenchism and French anti- Americanism aren't new at all.

We always end up fighting on the same side in the end.

Yes it does, but the average person doesn't know that. So it often becomes a scapegoat.

Something that gets blamed for something else. Politicians blame inflation (as if it's some uncontrollable monster), when they actually create inflation.

I'm a terrible conversationalist when it comes to politics, that's why you'll never see me in Global Unity, but here's my little take on it.

You know, if you had done that before the war, the popular opinion would have agreed.

But becuase this war was a garanteed success on Bush's part, don't be surprised if he becomes president one more time.

There is also another presidential canidate, that gives me the creeps, his name is John Kerry and he's from Massuchussets, and his democratic campaign is all over the media, and we all know what that means.

So I'm thinking next year, it'll be a Bush/Kerry war. But I'm sure the powers that be, already know who they're picking.

I remember before Bush was the president, I was thinking in my heart, he's going to win, and he's going to start a war.

This guy Kerry was in a dream of mine, and that's why I'm creeped out by him. But who knows, I stink at politics.

Gore must not have read his Illuminati "memo," since he refused to let Bush have the win.

And do you think things would have happened differently with Gore in power?
what party is he from?

Bush is a Republican, Gore is a Democrat. Those are the two major American political parties.

It would be better if we had a multi- party electral system, like so many European countries do. That way dividing the opposition wouldn't be a working tactic anymore.

This is very old news, but do you guys think the last election was rigged, you know the whole Florida fiasco?

Zerep, does France truly hate USA, what do they say down there?

I'm just curious. You're talking to a girl who knows nothing about politics.

Isn't every federal election rigged?

well star I think it's more of a case of the Usa hating the french. Some do some don't.... but there will always be a minority of anti-americains in every country.

You would think, since some ballads get thrown away (Florida), and less then 50% of Americans actually vote nowadays.
Still that doesn't mean we should give up, does it?
If Bush becomes President again, perhaps we'll know for sure. Oh man, the elections are just around the corner.
