I've heard all about it and it really is controversial! I can't wait to see it. It's probably not as bad as the news makes it out to be. isces: IP: Logged |

Oh it's violent alright, but I think the anti-semitism controversy is a bit over reacted. -StarLover IP: Logged |

There's a line in there that's supposedly so controversial, they asked him to remove it. He didn't, he just didn't subtitle it. So watch out for a part where someone says something with no subtitles, and then gasp loudly in the cinema! People will think you're clever. IP: Logged |

I've read some extremely negative reviews of it. One of my friends saw it and she said it was the most horrible, sickening, violent movie she's ever seen- she cried throught the entire thing. That, of course, was Gibson's idea completely. His personal obsession with torture and pain has gone to an alarming degree of madness. The worst part of the enitre business is that many young children will be taken to see it as part of their 'religious experience', and they will undoubtedly be traumatized by it. Witty something from The New Yorker: Jesus said,"Suffer the little children to come to me" not,"Let the little children watch me suffer." The funny part is that now we have an alliance between Catholics and Evangelicals in order to make the film a commercial success. ------------------ Hello everybody! A lot of churches are endorsing it. And a lot of children will no doubt see it. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

My friend said he enjoyed the movie and he seemed to understand Gibson's message as a good one. He said he also cried. I guess it's a matter of personal taste. But I don't think children and preteens should see it especially if they are ignorant about Jesus Christ. I had read in a review that any parent who drags their child to see this movie is committing abuse. It's a violent movie and parents must be warned. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Mel Gibson has been very violent in almost all of his films, but because he is such a wonderful story teller (e.g. Braveheart) it never really bothers anyone including myself. I think! For the sake of art, and a mature mind, it's okay to show violence with a message in my opinion. There is such a thing as good violence and bad violence so Mel Gibson walks a very fine line. -StarLover

I dunno what the line was but I'd love to know what the fuss is about! It's violent, so what ? Jesus Christ's outcome was violent, he's trying to show it as realistically as possible. He hasn't got an obsession with violence ! I love Gibson & he's perfectly fine.
It's the parents problem wether they will bring their children to it or not.

Jesus's message was about love, peace, justice, and acceptance. I'm afraid that Gibson is concentrating on the messenger at the expense of the message.------------------ Hello everybody! QueenofSheeba go see the movie it was really good . It was extremely moving and it will bring you down in tears. That is what Gibson really wanted. Trust me you will be moved, and yes it's violent, but somehow very appropriate for our time. I saw the movie and I know that in my heart it was ordained from up above. Trust me go see the movie. Mel Gibson did what he had to do. Jesus did preach to love your enemies in the mists of his brutal death and resurrection. Don't read the reviews about anti-semitism that is all a crock of bull. P.S. If you want a good review before the movie listen to Roger Ebert on his website, because he knows exactly what he's talking about. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Passion of Christ? I beleave in him, as well as Buddha and Quan Yin, And Krissna. And of course god (unified Consciousness) They didn't Focus on Jesus's great teachings, that is Jesus... His Love. Not His pain. we are sposed to gain Sympathy and beleave in him or something... I don't know, that movie made me a little sick and feelin' heavy when I was done. Love not Blood.Randall III IP: Logged |

i watched it on Sunday night. i'm not a christian or any religion for that matter...i have my beliefs but their dont seem to conform with any specific beliefs...my friend, who has recently really got active in the religiousness, took me to see it...i cried probably from the half hour mark to the end. i cant really say if its a good movie or not, ive never read the bible, i didnt know hte story at all, but i didnt find it discriminatory against jews...it seemed discriminatory against all people, well not discriminatory but i think the aim was to make us realise how stupid and irrational we can be when something new/different happens and we dont believe in it. i think my friend thought it might turn me christian...but it didnt...i just have a stronger desire than ever to find out what my true beliefs are and to be able to believe so strongly as he did. i think perhaps he was the messiah, but not in the way my friend thinks. i dont know, i hope i didnt offend anyone as i truly didnt mean to. i have to say that if i was asked to rate this movie, i would not be able to...its not bad, its not "entertainment", i wouldnt know how to classify it. You're waiting for Good Friday aren't you? Randall go see the movie and bring a tissue box. I don't usually cry in movies, but this one was deeply saddening. -StarLover IP: Logged |
