I could share some stories, though most of mine are more puzzling than amazing. But instead, I thought I'd share a tidbit that you might find interesting.A core concept of occultism (and, by extension, religion) is an "in between" state. When you are somewhere that is not one or the other, then you are in a place that can transcend reality.
Examples: crossroads (self-explanatory), beaches (not land, not water, but in between), mountains (not earth, not sky, but both), solstices & equinoxes (not one season or another, but in between), dawn/dusk (neither day nor night, but in between), even times of day (midnight & noon). You'll see these pop up in spells, rituals, and the like over & over again.
Adolescents are neither children nor adults. They're in between. And, some believe, this is why so many seem to draw unusual phenomenon and have paranormal experiences so much more. (This is also why some have valued them in occult rituals of various kind, too.) If you go looking for someone who can do strange things, an "in betweener" is much more likely. (Also, but less popular, are the old or otherwise between life and death, and some say that men with a lot of feminine attributes & inclinations, or women just the opposite, are also prone to this, on the same principle).
That said, the Otherworld is VERY tricky. It likes to toy with us more than enlighten us. If I believed in God, I'd say Her name was Eris, or Coyote, or otherwise a Trickster spirit. (And as Charles Fort asked, "If there is a universal mind, must it be sane?")
That is to say that while a teen (or whoever) displays some odd paranormal talent doesn't mean that he or she truly has special knowledge, or should be heeded, and may be more manipulated by otherworldly forces rather than the other way around. Such talents are also likely to fade as he or she gets older (though could be developed as anyone can develop such abilities).
And just for the record, I also think the Otherworld is playing with our scientists as they study things like quantum mechanics, but that's another topic.
