Just curious when you all fell in love with Astrology...?

For me it was 5th grade. My teacher went into the different planets and how they all played a part in our universe. Then one day she brought in one of those light things.. to where you turn the lights off in the room and the globe reflects the stars onto the ceiling and walls. It amazed me. We learned about the different zodiac signs, etc. I LOVED that part of 5th grade.

Then when I got to be in high school, sometimes I'd ride my bike to the band shell at night and sit inside the band shell. It was my alone time to think about things. I'd sit there and stare at the stars and the moon. For some reason it made everything so much clearer. Gave me a sense of peace.

But I don't know half as much as I'd like to about astrology. I seriously need to buy a book on it. Is there such a book as "A Dummy's guide to Astrology?" LOL.

You could start with Linda Goodman's Sun signs. It's easy to understand and very insightful with regards to basic sun sign characteristics etc.

Thanks charmainec...
Do you know if there's a book that more or less tells how to look at a chart by the basics? For us beginners?
I've looked on a couple of websites, but right when I think I'm getting it....I get lost lol.

I have one from the KISS series, kind of like an "Astrology for dummies" book. It's not all that great, but explains the basics of chart-making pretty well and has a section in the back that already has planet positions done for you from years 1950-200.

Never seen by waking eyes

Wink there is a dummies guide to astrology lol I saw it the other day in a book store

On a more serious note I would recommend Parkers Astrology for beginners (see what you did, you made me dig through my piles of books )

This book is great because it explains the basics and how to set up a chart as well as calculations, the planet tables, aspects and their meanings just everything! Oh and pretty pics too!

Hope that helps

When I was seven years old, I discovered that I was a Scorpio. Since then, I've been intrigued (:

When I was a little boy, I noticed that I didn't match my Sign very well, but I was fascinated nonetheless.

i first fell in loove with ancient greek mythology and the stories of the gods when i was 18. soon after i discovered an old book that belongs to my mom. it was Linda Goodman's Love Signs, and i was hooked! i love how greek gods match the signs like how us librans have so much of Venus and rams(as linda calls them) of Mars..

I liked the stories of the gods and their human frailties.

there's about a million books on basics of astrology i've seen "the complete idiot's guide to astrology" which gets pretty in-depth if you want to go past the basics.

i was about 10 when i got into astrology too, it's been kind of my reputation as the "horoscope girl" since then, all through out middle and high school, lol. whenever i would make a new friend or meet someone interesting, i would always ask their birthday and they probably thought i was weird

As a child, I remember how much my Mum was into astrology, although she wasn't an expert at it.. she loved to compare the sun signs of all my family members and was really fascinated by birthdays

My real education started off after I broke up with my first love with all that free time, i found astrology absolutely captivating and now, I can't go a day without my daily dose of info

I love Linda Goodman! She has an amazing charm and I thank her so much for making me fall head over heels in love with astrology All her books are amazing You can feel the friendliness just emanate out of her books!

My first love stemmed back when people did MySpace. I saw on my profile. It said "Libra" and I didn't know what the word "Libra" meant.
Then I thought "What?" and visited friends profiles, they had it too. To my amazement, I searched its meaning and haven't stopped ever since. I LOVE Astrology and am absolutely obsessed! <3
I think I'm in love with it too, because my throat gets dry and my heart beats fast whenever anyone brings it up.
