I would really appreciate your opinion on whether this was just a *dream*.

I got a call from a friend of mine the other day saying that she dreamt that someone who I care about very much had got in touch with her and asked how I was. She asked him why he cared and he broke down and said he wanted to get in touch but felt like I was the one who didn't care. She says he was an emotional wreck and the essence of the dream was that he cared very much but was frustrated that I didn't understand him at all.

She says she remembers trying my number repeatedly but I wouldn't answer and it was only the next morning that she realised that she didn't have my number right off to have called me without referring to her diary.

He has never actually met this friend of mine but I used to talk to him about her very often.

Anyway, I did call him - he was abroad and I had to go to a bit of trouble finding out the number - but he didn't appear to be fazed at all about my calling. And he didn't sound remotely like a wreck. In fact he made it sound like he really is okay. But he does hide his emotions pretty well. So I'm just wondering what's going on.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but this friend's little daughter and I have a very eerie connection. She has actually woken up her mother in the middle of the night to tell her that I was crying - and I was.

Somehow, I'm pretty sure he did want to get in touch. I'd really like to know what you think though.

What I think is, well ... confusing. There could certainly be some sort of psychic/astral communication at work here, but I can not say for sure. There are symbols here too that could relate to the dreamer entirely.

Do you know any more of the details? That would greatly help.

And what about your dreams?

I tried to find out more details but she can't really remember much more except that he was dressed in a formal shirt and trousers (not his usual style unless he's going out) and that he was actually speaking to her, not communicating telepathically. Also, she says he just appeared in front of her, did most of the talking and she's not sure when he left because she got so preoccupied with trying to call me. She says she couldn't see his face very well - but then she's only seen him in photographs.

Now that you mention it, I dreamt about him the same morning but I didn't put it down to much because I dream of him all the time. Would it be okay if I got your email address from Randall so I could email you about that? There's a couple of dreams about him I've put down in my journal that I'd like to ask you about.

There is a certain feeling of ... denial(?) or something here, but it is difficult to ascertain exactly who is denying what, or even if it is denial.

My feeling about this - and this is not solidly based upon any symbology - is that either you are in some way in denial about the guy (from your friend's perspective), there is something you are not getting - or, if you-in-the-dream is actually an aspect of the dreamer (your friend), then it could be that there is something she is not "getting." (not answering phone)

Beyond that, I really can say nothing further.

Her next little dream suggests that there is an energy, possibly transformative (snake), which is part of her basic make-up (field with snake) and relatively unknown at the moment (black) but which is beginning to be acknowledged (points out to daughter).

Some change in her is beginning.

That is about it!
