No, I am not making this up! Last night I dreamt there was this huge (as in like 20 feet long or so) flying black snake flying around and terrorizing people (including me). It didn't have wings, it just moved like a snake, but through the air instead of on the ground. I think it was poisonous, and I was really scared of it. It never came at me, but I was afraid it would as I watched it fly around. Finally I watched it fly away and that was the end of the dream. So, anyone have a clue what the heck that means? I don't normally have a fear of snakes, flying or otherwise. IP: Logged |

"Scully"... it's ME, Star Lee!!! I believe Snakes represent Transformation, shedding the old to reveal the new You underneath... perhaps there is some aspect of this, In Your current Picture? Maybe You can think about that. Maybe You're unsure, or a bit 'chicken' to let go of some part of Your-Self. I believe the snake represents You - just like things in our Experience reflect Us - and maybe You need to re-Mind Your Self right Now that it's okay to let go, because what Is the True You remains anyway.. (the good, wise parts, that is...) And also RE MEMBER that a Beautiful, Exotic Butterfly sheds it's cocoon and Be-Comes a Precious Butterfly. I hope I have helped in some way!! IP: Logged |

You could read The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner. He says shamans see dragon-like creatures who say they are the true masters of humanity and Earth, that they are inside all forms of life. Apparently you are not obliged to believe them!

Is there something looming around in the air of your life at the moment that seems threatening and poisonous? I think that it didn't come for you because it (the poison & the snake)is really harmless, only a threat. It may be that you're being shown that even though it may look gloomy and scary, You Are Safe. Or maybe that what scares others around you is their fear only - not yours. You Are Safe. IP: Logged |

Scully~ Just wondering, but do you dream alot? And if you do, do you have weird or disturbing dreams, or do they seem to be strongly symbolic often?~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

Scully~ The reason i asked is because, as does happen, after reading a LEXI for ourselves, whether or not we *get it* does still work with our psyche ... wondering if this dream has something to do with that ???~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

Scully, hello. I think Star Lee is right. The unconscious often is symbolized by a black animal, and a snake can represent transformation, healing, wisdom, evil, and about a zillion other things. Transformation seems to fit well here. Black can also symbolize unenlightenment, mystery, the unknown. So we could have a symbol for the transformation of some unconscious aspect of self. Change of some sort is certainly indicated, and it is probably on the mental or spiritual level (flying in air). Where do you stand in your spiritual beliefs? Have your thoughts been changing lately? Have you recently given up some old habit? IP: Logged |

Ra:Well I realized recently how I put up walls around myself to keep people at a distance, and have been trying to change that. So maybe watching this scary black snake fly away was me letting go of my habit of putting up barriers? Oh, I love this! It is too cool! Thanks, Ra and Star Lee Princess: I guess I do dream a lot, but usually about people, and no they're usually not disturbing. Maybe the lexi has something to do with me taking down the barriers. I'll have to think on that one for a bit! IP: Logged |

Scully~ I think your LEXI is telling you to absolutely take down the barriers, to be able to cry over what caused you to build them - even if it is on a subconscious level. After reading Ra's interpretation I feel like the dream (Higher Self) is telling you, like Star Lee said, it's ok to let go ... like Janara said, that you "are safe" ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

My approximate 2.125779 and a 1/2 cents...The snake was flying around and terrorizing people. I believe that can be translated to 'chaos'. The snake itself is sometimes said to represent sex, but I don't believe it in most cases. Snakes are quite commonly an object of fear, and though you admitted to no natural fear of them, you had a fear of this one. Is there a new (unknown) affecting your life, possibly changing things from how you used to know them? wings, to me represent freedom; but I believe that it can represent a lack of control over this element. Black (in this area, anyhow) is usually representative of negativity, so how you perceive it is in a negative manner (especially since you think it is poisonous). Since as far as I've heard, it didn't hurt anyone, I'd suggest finding out what it is, because I think fear, or not knowing is the main problem. If you learn what it is and (why) it is, you will have some manner of control over it, and it won't affect you in the same way as before. IP: Logged |

well, I constantly have mucho-weirdo dreams. But then, that's a step better than a couple years ago. I used to have mucho-weirdo nightmares.. and that was a few years before they let up So I'm in trouble if I can't at least make a false interpretation here and there IP: Logged |

Hey everyone, A friend would like to know if anyone's got some idea on the following dream she had recently (She's VERY, VERY interested!!!): Walking towards her bedroom, she saw a tiny, thin black, poisonous snake which jumped towards her... It did not fall on her, but she thought the snake landed somewhere in her HAIR (?). Very negative feel about the dream. Thank you for your kind thoughts... MiracleIP: Logged |

I'd say, first off, disorder.. especially with the rigorous care we take with our hair (women, anyway. Most men, I'd hope, too ) black, as I said is usually a negative color in western society. And obviously she had a dislike of either the snake, or the situation or both if the dream felt negative. perhaps it's her subconscious hinting at how she doesn't like disorder? I'm not sure about the size of the snake; does she remember any detail from the dream? IP: Logged |

I think snake is usually a symbol of fear, and in general negativity.------------------ You are endless galaxies, you have seen but one star - Linda Goodman, Sun Signs IP: Logged |

Hi, Miracle, I was expecting you! In this case, I do think the snake symbolizes fear, partly, but I also feel that it entirely depends upon one's feelings toward snakes. This snake is black, small and poisonous, all indicators of fear, among other things. First, she is walking towards her bedroom. She is not actually in it, but approaching it, approaching something. Her bedroom could indicate the unconscious, or the place in which we receive messages from ourselves, our sub/unconsciousness. So she is approaching something which lies sleeping within her unconsciousness. But she is distracted or blocked by the snake. Black is also a symbol of the unconscious, as well as mystery and secrets. Small and thin may be hints of something agile, hard to grasp, or just beginning to make an appearance. Poisonous is, well, poisonous. Toxic, lethal, dangerous, negative, ... or at least perceived as such. And then there is the snake itself. Here it is the vehicle of some unconscious thought or happening which the dreamer considers to be bad or negative, as told by it's appearance. And the snake is the perfect vehicle for carrying a message that invokes such fear and negativity. But there is a message behind the message. Snake is ultimately the symbol of wisdom and knowledge and transformation. Overcoming whatever fear will always bring (or uncover) wisdom, and therefore also transformation. And this snake is not passive, it jumps at her, attempting to get her attention focussed on this unconscious, negative thing. The hair could offer something further. Disorder, as endaphia said, would be a good interpretation. It can also represent projections of the unconscious, unconscious thoughts or patterns. It can also symbolize strength or power, in a masculine sense, curiously. In this case, I think it (hair) symbolizes some thoughts that the dreamer is having, perhaps subconsciously, that are "rooted" in some truly unconscious material of a very "negative" nature, and that these thoughts or patterns of thought are causing problems in the dreamer's waking life. Before she can rest (bedroom) or delve deeper into her own subconsciousness (bedroom), she must deal with some very personal, very elusive, very unconscious (at the moment) material which, if healed, will allow her to move on. There are connotations of personality disorder, sexual/intimate relationship problems, and deeply buried anger in the dream. I am not saying that any of these are so, just that these are some possibilities. It is indicated that if she is not yet aware of whatever it is, she will be soon. There will probably be more dreams along these lines. Why is it that the short dreams always make me long-winded? Do tell if any of this proves true! Or if it does not! IP: Logged |
