you know how awesome it is when you have a flying dream...well the other night i had a surfing dream!! and it had that same euphoric effect.
in the dream it seems like it should have been scary or something cuz tsunamis were hitting the coastal town that i was living in...but instead of being scared, a bunch of us were swimming out and then riding the waves back in. somehow doing this without a surfboard. 
i'm sure that the dream was heavily inspired by this picture that my friend posted in her journal (sorry i don't know how to directly link to the photo.): http://www.livejournal.com/users/nishgyrl/421945.html i looked up "surfing" and "waves" type keywords in online dream dictionaries and it said that water is your emotions and big waves are a sign of turbulent emotions. and then it said that a surfboard is your ability to control those emotions. so i was like "shoot man, i didn't have a surfboard. i must not be able to control my emotions at all..."
but then i read that being able to walk on water (and thus surf with no board???) is a sign of complete control over your emotions.
who knows.
anyway, it was just an awesome dream and i wanted to share it. IP: Logged |
