Hi, the thread title may sound a little strange.. Let me try to explain.. I've had a lot of dreams where I fly, pleasant dreams. But I'm thinking of HOW this flying feels.. I have no idea how others experience flying, but I seem to have to "push off" from objects around me! Like the lifting power is greater the closer I am to something, and then it grows weaker as I get further away from the ground/rock/hil/tree/object, meaning I can never really go very high, heheh. It is not a struggle to fly, but it does take some effort, I feel like I have to actively reach out with some kind of force and push off. How do others experience flying? Do you fly completely effortless? Push off like me? Flap your arms? Glide slowly? Speed away like a bullet? Please, tell me! IP: Logged |

Hello Fluke For me, it is usually pretty effortless, once I get off the ground. It seems like getting off the ground is the biggest challenge.

Fluke, I just had my first flying dream a couple of nights ago! I was asked to join this group of people and they taught me how to fly. At first I could only fly while holding one of their hands, but then I went off by myself and wondered if I could do it on my own, so I gave it a try. Like Ra, it took me a few tries to get off the ground, but once I was up I was flying! I can't tell you how real this seemed and how exciting it was for me. My daughter has had floating and then flying dreams since she was a young child and she would tell me about them even then, and I always would be an interesting experience. I visited a woman not long ago who does energy work and after we were done she said that my energy is very grounded inside of me - I didn't take that as positive in the respect that if I can't "let go", how can I truly interact with the energies surrounding me? So I started trying to just relax and imagine myself leaving my body and floating, which after two weeks, has led me to this dream. I'm hoping it happens again, and that I'm aware enough of what's happening to be able to direct my flight in the dream. Oh, and the flying was completely effortless once I was off the ground - I didn't have to flap my wings. IP: Logged |

Almost always, when I fly in dreams I sort of push or heft myself up into the air by pressing down with my arms. After I get up there, it's a little like doggie-paddling!IP: Logged |
