Yes! The first time I did it though I was around 12 or 13 and I thought I was dead. I had no idea what was going on with me looking down on my body. SO after a bit I went to say goodbye to my family members and to find out about "it all" (what ever that was). It's funny I remember so much about this experience and where I went and what I learned, I did learn that I wasn't dead so as I was going back I tested it by going to a friends house that I hadn't visited yet but was going to visit soon so that when I did visit the whole thing could be confirmed or not. Well it was confirmed. I ended up having scary experiences though and shut down my astral travel. But I would love to do it again. IP: Logged |

HeavenlyAlchemy, that is fascinating. What happened? I know those experiences must have changed the way you see things. How did you learn that you weren't dead? And what made you think to test it? IP: Logged |

Dreams can be astral; or telepathic dream sharing whilst both are dreaming; or a telepathic kind of remote viewing through another person's eyes who is awake.------------------ Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain. IP: Logged |

There are a lot of things that we can experience while we are "unconscious", and different ways of experiencing them.Typically, dreams are reflections of our sub/unconscious minds, our inner selves, and how we relate ourselves to the outside world. I do believe though, that we often take "astral trips" in the sense that you are talking about. Many would say that we travel astrally every night, and this may be so if you think of the mind as itself existing on astral levels. Does that make sense? IP: Logged |

Not really astral projection but a type of OBE..clearly happened twice to me.The first time I was about 11 years old..I woke up on a Saturday morning, came downstairs to lay on the couch to veg some more..fell asleep at some point. I remember my "astral body" or whatever it is sit straight up out of my physical body. I turned around, looked at myself sleeping, turned back around to see my dad enter the room with the vacuum cleaner and my little brother wearing an orange shirt, sitting in the chair. I then slammed back into my body. This all happened within about 10 seconds. I woke up later to find that my brother was wearing the same clothes I "saw" when I was sleeping. The second time I came home from school playing hooky. I went to lay on my bed and next thing I knew, I was asleep but my astral body was twisting and contorting itself out of my physical body. I tried to just go with it and I tried to put my astral head through the wall next to my bed. I kept trying to fully get out of my body but failed. I've had lots of lucid dreams where I try to get out of my physical body and astrally project somewhere..but I never can do it. IP: Logged |

I`ve never been able to project when I want to. Only when I`ve been either so exhausted that I just flop into bed or when (and these sublime moments are few) I`ve been so comfy, you know pillows, temp, everythings working for ya. But it seems to happen when I first fall asleep sometimes, and I`m not in R.E.M. yet, then some kinda noise or something wakes me up and I slam back into my body. Very unpleasant. The WEIRDEST thing I`ve seen regarding this subject, was this one time (at band camp lol) no, really, I was participating in some metahysical classes at a local "crystal shop" anyway, we had a group of about 6 or so and we were holding hands in a meditation trying to jointly decide if O.J. "did it" (yeah this was awhile ago) and I got a little restless so I opened my eyes and lo and behold, one of the guys in the circle was half way hanging out of his body, just sorta hanging at the waist. Yikes! I told him about it after and I think it freaked him out more than it did me. ha ha. never forget that.IP: Logged |

I've had a few OBE's or partial OBE's. The first one was the most intense and I was the most conscious, and it happened this past November. I was taking a nap, and in the dream I heard a loud 'bang!' The weak before I heard the same thing while sleeping and when I awoke asked my mom if she had heard it, because it was so loud and sounded like a gun going off. She said no, but that it could be a sign of an OBE.Anyway, I heard it again that day while asleep and though to myself, "maybe this is an OBE?" Then I was in bed, awake, but paralyzed! That was so scary, then I felt these vibrations and got even more scared but just prayed and focused on God. I felt this intense pain, like acid through my whole body, and saw a flash of white light. I was still just laying in bed. I turned my head to the side, and knew that I only turned my astral head, and my physical one was in the same place. This didn't freak me out though for some reason. I sat up, and somehow just lifted out towards the ceiling. I looked around my bedroom, but didn't look down on the bed! I had a hard time moving, I just 'swam' around, like I do when I have dreams where I'm flying. After a little while I got freaked out and said "OK, I want to be back in my body now!" Instantly I was back, but again I was paralyzed! I could only look at one point on the wall. Eventually I said to myself "This is stupid! I'm getting up now!" And I jolted back into my body, staring at that same point on the wall. It really felt like a higher force was guiding me to and through this. Then maybe a month later I had an OBE, but I was half-asleep. I remember being in my room , it was dark, I flipped out of my body and out the window, came back and there was some negative spirits there and I just put my head down and focused on God and withstood them. I was not quite conscious like I was in the first OBE. One day around the same time, during a meditation session, my body started swaying, which it often does during mediation or when I'm doing energy work. But then the swaying became stronger, like something else was moving me. Then I felt the vibrations of lifting off, but I got scared and stopped it. Then a week or 2 ago I had an almost OBE again while half-asleep. I was in bed at night, and I could feel that acid-pain like the first time right before I would lift out. The pain lasted a long time, and I was talking to a voice, like a spirit guide or actually more like my higher self, who was trying to convince me not to fight that pain and to go with it. I don't know what happened, but I didn't lift out. Again I was only semi-conscious. I guess for me these usually happen when I'm asleep or half asleep because I'm too scared to go there when I'm awake. I think it would be great to do it at will though. I wish I knew what that pain is when I lifted out; I've read some books on OBE and never heard that mentioned before. IP: Logged |

I've been cursed with that paralyzing thing for years. Finally, I have found a way that works for me to "un-paralyze" myself, when I am consciously aware that I am paralyzed, I concentrate on one part of my body, usually a finger or a toe. Then I tell myself that I CAN move that one finger or toe, I can feel it, wiggle it, so forth, and force myself to do it. It takes major concentration, but it works, and then pretty soon everything "unparalyzes."IP: Logged |
