I had a most baffling dream last night that I'm still feeling disturbed by. Overall, the part that teases my mind was I passed this little girl and her friend that happened to be a pumpkin that bounced along with her. I don't recall how, but the pumpkin got me alone and attacked me, apparently needing to eat people to continue to live. It was fairly indestructible and the only way to destroy it (which I obviously had to do) was catch it, cut it open, and get all its seeds out and then smash it before it could scoop them back in (and then come back for mega vengeance). I did it. Unfortunately, right after I smashed the pumpkin, the pumpkins friend came out and saw me do it and ran off sobbing that I'd killed her friend. Any idea what this might mean? IP: Logged |

I asked for some input from a friend of mine, and she suggested that maybe the girl is someone you know, and the pumpkin is a friend of this person, perhaps a very bad influence of some sort (like with drugs or something), and this concerns you. She said that maybe you feel like the only way this bad influence on your friend will go away is if something really bad happened to him/her (the 'pumpkin'), and maybe you even had not-so-well-wishing thoughts about it.Does that make any sense? I was thinking more along the lines that the girl is an aspect of yourself and the pumpkin represents something that is really bothering you, but I haven't really had a lot of time to formulate any concrete thoughts yet. I should have time tomorrow to analyze a bit more. What do you think? IP: Logged |

Odd dream indeed. The only thing that popped into my mind was that rhyme, Peter Peter, Pumpkin Eater. IP: Logged |

Thanks Chryseis Okay ... If the little girl represents an aspect of yourself, then the dream could suggest that someone or something is consuming your energy, perhaps taking advantage of your good nature or some innocent/naive part of yourself. This consuming energy, whatever or whoever it is, is apparently very strong in nature, very difficult to get rid of, and you realize that every bit of its influence, potential, or growth (seeds) must be severed from you if you are to free yourself from it. It could be suggested that even though you realize this, there is a part of you that will miss it (girl sobbing). Or, the little girl could represent an innocent/naive aspect of someone you know, in which case all of the above still applies, just not to you personally. You see what is happening and wish to do something about it. What do you think? IP: Logged |

You know, both interpretations could fit. Thanks for the thoughts. IP: Logged |
