For some strange reason I only remember night mares. When I was younger I always had dreams of someone trying to kill me.. This continued for over 10 years.. These are the only dreams I remember...

I got married then the nightmares stopped for the most part, they would only come once a year or so....

After dreaming a serial killer was chasing me
I went 5 years without remember any dreams at all.

Well I separated from my husband and now these dreams are coming back little at a time...
Since my separation 2 years ago, I have only remembered two dreams, both were in the last 6 months...

The first one I was at a party, and some sort of war broke out, The military came and there was shooting and everyone was running... Sorry thats all I can remember

2nd = I was at my aunts house, and got a call from my mom asking me about the big fire... I said what fire...
Then the fire dept came and said everyone had to leave, and I look and there's this huge ball of fire on a hill storming right to the house... thats when I woke up...

So now Im only remembering dreams about disasters....

Does any one have any thoughts on this?

if you don't normally recall your regular dreams, then your psyche might be accustomed with disaster dreams to 'get your attention'.

so what's it saying?

i don't think it's foreshadowing disaster...it just seems more like your unconscious mind is trying to adjust to a new reality (being single?) and the transition is still happening. I associate disaster dreams in general with adjustment to anything new since it's 'upsetting' to whatever routine we might have with regular day to day life...we don't pay attention to our regular life...and then something comes along and changes the routine, and BAM!- we have to adjust. Our dreams reflect that upset of our regular norm, you know what I mean? And they will often play it out like a drama, to get your conscious mind curious and interested and engaged. That's how the unconscious mind speaks to the conscious mind, through these interesting scenarios...if the conscious mind continues to ignore, the unconscious ups the ante with more drastic dreams...

I also think that it's interesting that your mind will only register disaster dreams...like other dreams are forgotten, so it's not the dream so much as *you*, the dreamer...

Dreams of killers and the like and being chased are about personal safety and our sense of personal security being threatened...

Dreams of fire and war...pretty obvious...that's chaos....and then you mention the fire department and the military...those are the representations of the restoration of order (ideally, they are that archetype). So I get that your psyche is still registering change from being married even, and trying to adjust and adapt, and on some level it might still be very stressful for you, because the situations in the dreams you're describing are very stressful and chaotic. Even if you feel settled in your life, the dreams say there's still some part of you which is dealing, dealing, dealing.
I hope this makes sense.

How are you with handling stress in general, if you don't mind me asking?

btw, i could be way off on the marriage/separation thing...it's just that you mention it as something which went on in your life and i think it might contribute to the dreams.

i'm not sure about the past dreams tho, which is why i was asking about how you handle stress or upheaval in your life in general

Actually I guess that does make sense.. Yeah I guess Im still adjusting, but I dont see it as a bad adjustment..
I see if more as a new beginning, but at the same time I do worry what else is in store, and what else do I have to go through before I can truly be happy....

As for stress, well I what I do is kinda heal myself, I go into retreat, and I disconnect contact with everyone, until I figure out what it is I'm suppose to learn...... Sometimes its months for me to heal.. (that's my venus cancer in the 4th..lol cancer also rules the 5th, to a sense it over rides my Leo Stellium)

I just deal/learn/accept and then move on...

Thank you for taking the time to put your input in, it was insightful...
