Night terrors have been a regular of mine since i was a child.Waking up screaming, seeing spiders or scorpions crawling all over the walls HUGE ONES,but after a few terrifying seconds they disappear.Sleep walking is another embarrassing problem.I wake up and my pillows are gone, sometimes in the kitchen i will find them lol, don't even remember putting them there. Also panic/anxiety attacks in my sleep.anyone familiar with these? waking up with a pounding heart, chest pain,or a heavy feeling in the chest, and sweating.accompanied by very emotionally wrenching nightmares.usually about family or something else.or having a bad argument.and you can just feel your "soul" hurting in the dream.and the pain is actually quite real when i wake up.goes away after a few moments. share your experiences if you have any :] IP: Logged |

Not me, but my fiancé does....He wakes up most nights in panic, fighting the covers and roaring out of bed into the hall. Halfway down the hall he recovers and makes some excuse about needing to go to the bathroom. Some times he sits on the bedside, frantically trying to pat out imaginary flames along his arms and legs.... He never really remembers it later, but it happens more nights than not.. IP: Logged |

Yes but often seem psi related. Like during the tsunami a few years ago I awoke screaming because "I was there!" I was drenched in seawater and trying to swim. Finally my partner calmed me and we went online and found out that as it had indeed happened. The panic attacks are some past lives related and or my neurological glitches/damage.------------------ ~I remember, therefore I am immortal~LEXX ~Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other." ~ Dalai Lama }><}('>~ IP: Logged |

Yes I used to get all kinds of things like this - sleep paralysis, seeing shadow people when I woke up, all kinds of things and very disturbing dreams. I don't get them now, it's important not to put your mind upon it. You may have Pluto in 8th House - I attributed this to what I was experiencing.IP: Logged |

Me neither, and I simply LOVE to dream, I cherish every dream I have, and while they may not all be pleasant, not a single one is UNpleasant, they are still interesting and challenging, but never bad. Which is why I'm having trouble helping my boy deal with his nightmares and dreams, which are distinctly unpleasant. To put it simply, I just can't relate to what he is experiencing..! IP: Logged |

whats weird about it is,I become real agile when i am running out of the bed, like a cat.I jump out of bed and will land on a piece of furniture or couch,or cling to something lol.Or as i have been told, jump out of the bed and land like a cat, real silently and swift. I have seen shadow people on the walls too,but the huge scorpions and spiders are the worst.IP: Logged |

My sis used to do this. Not terror attacks or sleep walk but sleep talk. Whenever she used to have a bad time then it would reflect in her sleep.Once when i was in school and studying late at night. I heard some voices but ignored them. Then again after sometime i heard some. It started growing eerie. I felt uneasy, looked here and there but saw no one. I started studying. After sometime they came back. But stopped. This went on and off for quite sometime. I got so worked up that finally i decided to hit the bed. I switched off the lights and rushed to the bedroom and slept with my eyes shut tight and cover drawn over my face in a feeble attempt to hide. I thought i was safe. How wrong i was! The voices came again. And this time very close, clear and perfectly audible. I thought of waking my sister. I got up and went near her bed and to my utter shock she was the one who was doing all the talking. It was that day that i discovered that she used to sleep talk. Next day i told my mom. She confirmed it. lol IP: Logged |

I've never had panic attacks in my sleep, but I do hallucinate sometimes. I think it may be anxiety-related. Sometimes even before I fall asleep, if I have my eyes closed for awhile and the room is fairly dark, I'll open my eyes casually, and see something like a huge bug of some sort, mostly spiders... But it's never frightening to me. It goes away when I try to reach for it to see if it's really there. My aunt told me that sometimes things like that happen when you're deficient in iron or some other nutrients. But I've known very anxious people to be more likely to have panic attacks, sleep paralysis, and bad experiences with astral travel. So just be at peace! Meditation would help.------------------ Whatsoever desires one entertains That he definitely obtains IP: Logged |

I believe panic attacks and hallucinating are very much anxiety related and could point to a deficiency in iron or other nutrients. I occasionally have hallucinations. Either when I wake up in the middle of the night or even before I fall asleep, if I have my eyes closed for awhile. I'll casually open them and see something like a spider or spider web really close to my face. But I never feel frightened about it. I just reach out to touch it and see if it's real or not and it disappears. I think it usually happens if I'm stressed out about something in my life or if I'm in a new situation and feel insecure. From what I've seen of very anxious people, they tend to have panic attacks, sleep paralysis, and bad experiences with astral travel. I've never heard of that happening to anyone who was at peace. So to me that would be good news... Meditation should help remove anxiety and replace it with peace.------------------ Whatsoever desires one entertains That he definitely obtains IP: Logged |

Yes. They are awful and I hate them. My son inherited this, but he seems better now.If anybody has this really bad, you may want to be checked, some of this stuff can be due to several conditions, that are treatable, whether you go traditional or holistic. For ex. the sweating and rapid heart rate can be from Grave's disease, which is basically a sped up thyroid.

Not anymore. I used to wake up on the floor frequently as a child. I usually knew when I would have the nightmare, as prior to falling asleep, I would sense what I thought where dark entities in my bedroom, hovering around my head. Those are the nights I would have the nightmares - made going to the toilet one of the most terrifying experiences of my life, as I was not allowed to put on the bedroom or hall light (shared a room with my brother, and the hall light would have shone into my mother's bedroom).I developed a coping mechnism that sometimes subdued the dreams, or made them less scary, by reducing the anxiety I felt regarding the hovering things around my head. I still don't know what this represents, or why it sometimes worked for me - I would visualise a patchwork quilt, and draw each individual section on the darkness (I was too scared to close my eyes). This may have helped purely by manner of distracting my attention, in which case, any pleasant, detailed visualisation prior to sleep, may help. IP: Logged |

something what would help me as a child and still kinda helps me today, was picturing these green, laser glowing apparitions of my own,i would picture micheal the arc-angel or a army of angels strong and mighty armed with holy weapons standing at each corner of my room,or wherever i was sleeping.than i'd close my eyes and the scary thoughts would go away.i now sleep with a eye mask over my eyes at night, which helps with not seeing anything my mind may make up in a delirious state. though the panic attacks still happen..just a few this week too.its mostly a in-dream ocurance.and i wake up with a pounding heart. Hi starzy, nice to see you. I hope your fingers are normal. Does that pounding heart affect your health? When i was a kid i used to get scared of ghosts. I hadn't seen any fortunately but nevertheless i had this fear. Then, i don't remember how, i started praying to one saint and the fear went off after sometime. I didn't even realise when it went off. IP: Logged |

My boyfriend gets sleep paralysis all the time, just as hes drifting of to sleep , he some times see's scary things like spiders crawling on him . the only thing he can slightly move is his hand so I always have to be touching his hand so he can get me to snap him out of it. He seems to get them more when hes really tired. IP: Logged |

For sleep paralysis, try concentrating really hard on your big toe. I know it sounds weird, but tell him to harness every bit of will power he can muster and focus it into his big toe. Then you basically will it to start moving. I have screamed "MOVE" in brain, over and over. Once you get your toe to move, it gets better. Then do the same with the rest of your toes. Then your whole foot. By the time your leg is moving, you should be all the way awake. It sucks, I hate it, but the older I get the less I suffer from this. Good Luck. IP: Logged |

↑ At least once a week. Sometimes it's about ghosts and I wake up feeling like they were in close contact. But the greater I feel in waking life, I less nightmares I have when I fall asleep. I also find when I do have nightmares, when I wake from it I move to a cooler spot on the bed, if I stay in the same spot where I had the nightmare I usually go right back to dreaming about it. ------------------ "Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise." — Maya Angelou IP: Logged |
