I was taking a trip with a train somewhere. Later, I realized everyone on board in the train were friends or family who had passed on. I panicked and had a look out of the window. All the people on the platform were people who were alive and waving goodbye to those in the train. The train started pulling away and I ran to the door with the hopes of getting out - I knew I didn't belong in that train! My paternal grandmother grabbed my arm and ordered me to sit. She said I had no choice and had to leave with them. That's it. Any thoughts? ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

Are you a comformist? Carl Jung believed that to dream of taking a public vehicle often means that the dreamer is not finding their own way forward and is behaving like everyone else. Freud believed that to dream of missing a dream meant missing death. (How ironic! You get it? Because you were with the dead?)Dreaming of trains may also be a metaphor that you are "in training" for some event, job or goal. Whether this is subconscious or not depends on the dreamer. To see trains in your dreams represent progress of the dreamers life, social comformity and progress of business deals. To dream that you are on a train symbolizes your life's journey. It suggests that you are on the right track in life and headed in the right direction. Alternatively, the dream means that you have a tendency to worry needlessly over a situation that will work out in the end. ============================================ "The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. Its strange what desire will make foolish people do. Id never dreamed that Id meet somebody like you. I'd never dreamed that I'd know somebody like you." -Wicked Game(Song)

To dream that you are getting off a train suggests that you are ill-prepared for a new phase in your life/(or are unenthusiastic about a new phase). You may be procrastinating or putting things off that should have already been completed. What do you think of when you think of a train? Dream association may be a key to unlocking the meaning of your dream train. *Does someone I know(Or Do I) think only along certain lines? (E.G.Have a stable way of communicating?) *Has my usual routine changed recently? *Does someone I know/or do I only think about one thing? (Maybe for your case death?) ============================================ "The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. Its strange what desire will make foolish people do. Id never dreamed that Id meet somebody like you. I'd never dreamed that I'd know somebody like you." -Wicked Game(Song)

Fun fact: According to Sigmund Gustav Freud, a train is analogous to the male penis. Freud said that the train is usually a phallic symbol and that a train going through a tunnel represents intercourse. ============================================ "The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. Its strange what desire will make foolish people do. Id never dreamed that Id meet somebody like you. I'd never dreamed that I'd know somebody like you." -Wicked Game(Song)

If you are not attempting to resolve feelings associated with this person's death in your dream, you are likely to be dreaming of the person because they represent a quality that is important to you right now. Think about who you have dreamed about and begin to describe them. Is this person the opposite of you? Is this person very much like you? Did this person possess traits you had always wanted to emulate? This msesage may relate to who or what the deceased person is representing to you. ============================================ "If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars." -Rabandranath Tagore

My interpretation: ------------------ I think the message your psyche has conjured is that maybe deep down you feel like there are lost opportunities(on a train with the wrong people.) or that you're losing your sense of self. (trains going the wrong way. leaving the living). Maybe you're uncomfortable with where lifes taking you and frankly your surprised (incredulous, peeting out the window as your living loved ones pass by. Rushing off the train.) and want to change it/turn back time. Then of course, the dream can always have a more literal meaning. This is only my interpretation/understanding from what you've said. What the dream may mean to you can very well be a completely different scenario. Thats why I provided symbolism. Hope this helps!! ============================================ "If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars." -Rabandranath Tagore

Thanks for the input and different meanings. After reading through them and contemplating the dream, it could mean transformation but feeling restricted. And to answer your question; no, I'm not a conformist. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

Randall, nah. That gran always represented restiction to me in some way. She was strict, stern and serious (a cappy) not like cappy pa, who was a cappy too but wise, caring and warm. Since the themes of Life, Death and a journey are symbolised in the dream it would make sense if one assumes transformation, yes? ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

Hello Charmaine I agree with your interpretation about transformation How did you feel about the journey before you realized who was on train with you? How did you feel when you saw the living waving goodbye? When your grandmother stopped you did you want to obey or rebel? The questions may help you analyze the dream to obtain more detail to its meaning xoxo ------------------ quote: Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. The train represents your perceived life path at the moment, going forward yet rigidly restricted (train tracks), likely having to do with aging. You are concerned about how aging is going to affect your future course in life. I ask, why be concerned with that now? Live in the present and make the best of what you have while you have it. Don't worry about aging and death, they will come when they come, but that time is not now. You are young and beautiful ... use it, keep it, live in the now and don't concern yourself with the future. The future is an illusion until you make it real. IP: Logged |

WEEEEE! ELOOOO RA! It's always great when you stop by. Thanks for taking the time to help with the dream. You've always been one of the few who could interpret my more complex dreams. Your interpretation for this one is rather interesting.. the only thing I've been thinking about a lot lately which could possibly be linked to "age" is modeling and whether I want to continue with doing it. The reasons for wanting to quit is not the age factor at all but focusing my energies in other areas in my life (pursuing other goals) and focusing on my health. It could be this. Thanks, again and hope to see you around more. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.
