Have you ever gone to sleep with a problem and encountered someone or something in your dream that actually helped solve your problem when you woke up?Have you ever been convinced that you were visited by a benevolent spirit in your dream? IP: Logged |

I think I may have....I was going through a very personal issue at the time about 5.5 years ago. I had to make a serious decision about my life... anyway, this person wasn't anyone that I had known. To this day this dream is just as vivid in my mind as the day that I had it. I was in a field with a barn in the background. It was dark and a person appeared in front of me. He kept asking what was I going to give up to him? He kept repeating the question, I kept saying I don't know. Finally I relented with a heavy heart and said to him that I know now what I must do....I was crying and he was smiling. He hugged me and all of a sudden, wings sprouted from his back and he let me go and made this loud noise. I was still crying because the decision I had to make was heart wrenching...he says to me in some context that I can still remember, that I have made the right decision and will be blessed from here. And he flew away and I woke up. IP: Logged |

Yeahhhh, I have. If I remember correctly, the dream manifested as my helper existing as a similar figure. I knew it was them except for they were an creature/ANIMAL. Albeit they possessed the identical demeanor, mannerisms, etc. succoured me with that aim. Then when I awoke someone with that persona helped me with whatever problem I had.------------------ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx IP: Logged |

Hi Faith I have done that with really major work/study problems. For example, right before I go to sleep I will ask for guidance in regard to the matter. Sometime in the night or in the morning, a snippet of a dream will come with the way to the answer. Maybe keep a notebook and pencil or recorder near your bed so you don't forget what you've learned in the first ten/fifteen minutes after waking. IP: Logged |

@ Cappy: That is fascinating. Your dream is sort of like the ones I had that prompted me to post this thread, see below. @DS: Can you tell me more about how the animal resembled someone you met? That's so surprising...as one who doesn't interact much with animals, this strikes me as entirely novel and, well, cool. @Gracelives: I'm jealous, I've always WISHED I could be a sleep learner! I've heard of them before! As for writing my dreams down...I'm a scaredy-cat about whatever omens might be encrypted there. I've got an 8H Pisces moon and a strange dream life; I've had a number of psychic dreams. But it's not something I want to explore on a daily basis. I'm too chicken, as I said.

So...this was my unusual experience. In 2004, I had hit rock bottom: I had a bit of depression after the birth of my daughter, combined with a family feud that was raging, and a few other personal issues putting a load on my back. I have 12H Saturn...astrologer Bob Marks says this is a bulwark against depression, but when it hits, it is almost immobilizing. That's been my experience, too.One night I dreamed that I was walking to the post office and a shiny old-time Cadillac pulled up next to me. The door popped open and Elvis Presley invited me in for a ride. I wasn't an Elvis fan in real life at this time, didn't know anything about Elvis except the basic pop culture stuff. Anyway, he was completely reassuring in my dream. There was something about his dream presence that seemed very tangible and special, almost like how I would feel meeting a living celebrity whom I greatly admired. But he was completely down to earth and comforting, almost like what I'd expect to feel around a highly evolved spiritual guru. I woke up feeling much better and the depression lifted for good. After my father died a few years later, I again hit a rough patch, and once again, I had an uncannily vivid Elvis dream. It's hard to explain or justify how significant it was to me; in this dream, my *friend* Elvis told me that whenever I hit rock bottom, he would come back. At that point I started reading Elvis biographies. As it turns out, he was very spiritual and spent a lot of time telling his friends that he was going to die young, and after he died, he was going to visit them in their sleep. Weird, huh?! And they now say, he does visit them. So I have to wonder if those dreams had a supernatural element to them? I'm not familiar with "astral realms" and don't know how common the belief is, that we can be visited in dreams. Of course I like to think there was something real in this. It's a little embarrassing to tell my story, but I have Uranus conjunct my north node, and I'm never going to survive (or evolve) unless I get a little crazy. Or so I think! If you ever see me posting stuff about Elvis...now you know how that all began. Thanks for reading. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLbOBoa8vD8&feature=related IP: Logged | |
