I keep having dreams where I am repeatedly smoking. It's usually around the same people too. But it isn't a usual behavior of mine, far from it - I've only smoked once in my life and that was years ago. In the dream the people around me seem taken off guard that I am smoking and argue about why I'm doing it but I'm unfazed. Their voices are background noise. So what could this possibly mean? :/ It's been popping up so much in my dreams lately I need help figuring out what my brain is trying to tell me!! Thx. IP: Logged |

....Dream Symbolism...  Smoke represent shields--rather to (self/or/others) protecting from negative emotions. Defense mechanisms. Smoke may represent trouble that is entering your life. Possible confusion, anxiety. In particular, if the smoke is foggy then perhaps you're not seeing certains situations limpid.  IP: Logged |

'letting of steam/smoke'
...comes to my mind. Could it be that there are some people to whom you will be giving 'a piece of your mind'?
Maybe that is not something you normally do and you let those people walk all over you, or they simply go on your nerves with something they say or do?
