In the last two weeks the same suffocation/possesssion dream has repeated itself about three times. I'll wake up, always at around 1 in the morning, and find that I can't move or talk. The first time this happened, I felt like something was in me that wasn't letting me move. When I tried to call out, a rasping sound came out rather than my voice. The pressure suddenly eased off and whatever it was that was causing the pressure suddenly left, and I could suddenly move again.

The same thing happened two days later and then again last Thursday night, each time worse. I always feel like it's an entity sitting on me, and have difficulty figuring out whether it's a dream or I actually wake up and can't move because everything is extremely vivid.

Anyone know what this is?

I think its a negative spirit. I felt a negative black energy coming on to me one night so I put on my rosary over my neck and I slept fine. I think if I hadn't I would have had the same problem. I would sleep and something would try to wrestle me and kill me by my spinal cord but I would wrestle myself to wake up. You must also pray. As to the source I wouldn't know but from what I've read I'd take it that a catholic priest would know, or any other christian deliverance minister. I hope God rids what's plaguing you at night with holy objects like as a rosary.

Thank you both, I'll consider both of those explanations while trying to figure this out. It could even be a recurring vivid nightmare, I have no idea

Oh, I saw this and had to say something. Please examimne all of your close relationships. This means friends, family, lover, etc... There may be someone near you who does not have your best interest at heart or you may be innocently involved in dangerous situation. I see this is an old post but I am concerned. I have some experience with this sort of thing.

I also agree about examining your close relationships. where i come from i do believe in people doing black magic, so you may want to look into that.
