So last night I go to bed and I fall into a conscious dream (makes no sense I know).
In my dream I was talking to aliens! I saw their spaceship it was black and it wasn't round but something like a plane except bigger and wider and more blocky.
These aliens told me to remain conscious and remember this. They were telling me that they combine human and alien gene to create a hybrid so they can survive easier here and outside our planet. They also wanted to spread intelligence and wisdom on earth. A lot of weird things were just put into my brain like images I cant even describe them or remember correctly. At the end though I woke up feeling weird like I hadn't slept. This dream only took an hour as I woke up an hour after going to bed. But the freaky think is that one of my kittens was sitting at the edge of my bed looking at me making weird chirpy noises for real! Made me go a little crazy with fear couldn't fall asleep for the next while...

If the alien encounter in this dream was more negative or stressful, I would agree fully with DS, but this dream doesn't seem "bad". I do agree that an encounter with an unfamiliar aspect of self is represented, but instead of a neglected aspect or some difficulty, I think it represents a connection with the higher self or superconscious, imparting ideas/concepts that may be advanced or strange/"alien" in nature. Or you could think of the dream as a reflection of your mind's incorporation of advanced, strange/"alien" ideas/concepts.
