I had the following dream which is confusing to me...

I'm not sure exactly what the order was but it went like this..

First, I have switched bodies with a friend of a friend. His name is Ed and he is in my body and I am in his body.

I walk around a neighborhood in his body and I come to enjoy the experience. He has a friendly dog who walks with me. Together we go on our merry way.

When I arrive to a house, Ed is there in my body with his girlfriend and I am in his. A part of me wonders if I will get to sleep with his girlfriend but another part of me doesn't really care either way.

I can tell Ed is uncomfortable in my body because there are aches and pains in it and he wants his back so he can sleep with his girlfriend - he doesn't want to sleep with her in my body because she may like it too much and then cheat on him when our bodies are given back to us.

After we go back in our bodies, I am lying in a bed next to Ed's bed and I ask him if he would have cared sleeping with his girlfriend in my body if we could never switch back and he said he didn't mind because he loved her.

-------------------
Next part
-------------------

I am serving Beyonce with a group of other people. We are servants to the celebrity Beyonce, sort of like hotel works, setting up her elaborate celebration, and we are paid minimum wage.

We are all eager to work and get paid and also experience this celebrity but when she arrives she is a nightmare. We cannot handle it and everything falls a part because she is so uptight that she decides on a whim to cancel the arrangement.

This is to the chagrin of everyone because we are not being paid for our work. Meanwhile all of this is taking place in a garage on the side of a random house.

-----------
Part 3
-----------

My friend John is a trader for a company. He is in my dream and he is talking with me. He is very successful and I am unsure of myself.

He leaves me in a foreign land in a strange but recognizable city. He advices me to fly back home by piloting a plane.

So now I am searching for either a pilot or and explanation, or a way home.

I go down a windy road and hang right on a street to a bar with some black men inside who are dressed like bouncers. Morgan Freeman is there and he seems to give me something of advice or what not but it is not what I expected.
I leave that place on a furnished motorcycle but I am afraid because I have no registration.

As I drive on the bike I go up a street that I came down on and see two young people sitting outside on a bench behind an apartment complex. They are in their 20's and they are clearly in a relationship.

I turn around on the motorcycle and a cop pulls me over. I am really scared that he will check for my registration but he actually just wants to see the amazing motorbike I am riding. For some reason it is legendary. Somehow my fathers presence is there protecting me and guiding me on what to say because I know nothing about motorbikes but have a great conversation with the cop.

The cop pulls away and drives off as if we were two Joe's talking about sports and one of the two Joe's was off on his merry way to return to his business ..

I then wake up..

What a weird and elaborate dream that seemingly has no meaning what so ever.

What do you guys think?

Hello AlexDern

On the contrary. I think this dream has plenty of meaning. The theme I see stretching through these dreamlets has to do with insecurity and self doubt , spanning your personal (part 1), societal (part 2), and professional (part 3) life.

The first part is colored with a bit of fantasy and suggests that you feel like others have it better than you, especially when it comes to romance/relationships, likely due to your own insecurity and feelings of inadequacy . When was the last time you had a girlfriend?

The second part suggests that you feel lower on the rungs of society, that your value is minimized, you are taken for granted/unappreciated, and you feel powerless and unimportant.

The third part suggests that you are reluctant to take control of your life's direction (advised to pilot plane home, but you do not/afraid to take motorcycle) due to feelings of self-doubt, a lack of confidence (unsure of yourself while with successful friend).

But there is a hopeful message in the end. Your father's presence is an indication that you need only to take a chance, to listen to the positive aspects of your inner voice, and those things you perceive as being obstacles, the things you fear, can change polarity and become stepping stones "on your merry way".

That's my abridged analysis. If you have questions about symbols I didn't cover, or want clarification, please let me know.

What do you think?
