I never been able to consciously astral project successfully so far, and I'm not sure if I've done it unconsciously or not. When I try to astral project, I feel as if the physical sensations in my body are dissipating whilst I'm still attached to my body, and I cannot seem to be able to get to the stage where I can detach from my body as such. I feel strange sensations like as if the world around me is warping/spinning in circles and I can feel the loss of energy coursing through my body (not sure how else to describe it), but I am still attached to my physical body.

Any help? I've been wanting to astral project and see how everything works in such, but have been unsuccessful so far.

In my experience it is good to stay connected to the body by a cord. In my opinion a soul that is disconnected from the body = death.

That is true. I was only stating that I had trouble with actually exiting the body, and so I described it in such a way lol.

A story:

A woman contacted me for help. She has a range of psychic gifts, which are as it appears inborn, spontaneous and quite strong, however she has no textbook understanding of the technicalities and what these actually are in esoteric terms.
Her four sons are gifted as well, each has a set of certain gifts, the eldest being as strong as the mother and seems to have a particular telepathic connection with her.

She contacted me in distress. She was awakened at night as someone was kicking her. She was struggling as she was feeling forceful tugging at her body. She saw three dark shadows standing around her, fighting over who will take over her body when they will finally succeed to kick her out.

In the course of discussion I learned that she also saw a greyish silvery cord that was attached to her body. She usually sleeps with the lights on but found the room dark so she tried to turn the light on but it didn't work. She also thought that she walked through the wall to her sons room in search of help, as she was scared.

Her son in the room next to her woke up suddenly feeling sinister urgency, and saw the light go off in her room. He run to the room sensing that something is very wrong.

The woman OBEs spontaneously, she has no control over it. And unfortunately there is a presence that wants to capitalise on the fact that she goes walkabout, going as far as trying to chuck her out. Interesting that when she was trying to switch the light on, she actually literally switched it off. I didn't know that was possible when in OBE. But I am no expert on OBEs.

So the moral of this story is - there are real dangers out there in that realm. Ensure that you are aware of what the dangers are, and how to protect yourself.
Take precautions and use psychic protection before trying anything such as OBE.

And for goodness sakes make sure you don't trip and accidentally cut the cord.

EDIT: In effort to make this text short I have omitted many details, some more some less important, and some just obvious. Like when the woman run back to her bed to her surprise she found her own body in it sleeping, which is when she noticed a strange silver cord.

It is not entirely clear to me if the woman was in fact sleeping or not, because upon waking she felt pain all over her body, as if she was kicked. But according to Psychic Research Society this is possible even in dream mode, based on several recorded historical accounts.
Nevertheless, while the dream excursions in the astral are usually harmless, the conscious going out in the astral is not so. There are many planes of the astral that are dangerous and unpleasant to travel into without a trained occultist guide, and thus caution should be taken in the force development in that direction.

What will you do if you encounter someone or something during your conscious OBE ?

There should be no fear of cutting the astral cord. It is indestructible and cannot be accidentally "cut".

Caution is warranted, but this is more for your mind/psyche than it is for your physical body. If you believe that no harm can be done, then none will be. In the Astral, what you think and believe are the main drivers of your experience.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "loose control". If you mean as in being able to loosen my control over my own body, then yes, I do struggle trying to do that. I feel that if I could get past that, then it should be much easier to astral project. Still no successful attempts as of yet :/

You must try to move up or down. Or backwards or forwards. See yourself leaving the body.

One thing I keep doing is telling myself what's happening and trying to tell myself to leave the body, which may not be helping.
