Hi All! So this is very dangerous that I have discovered this board all about the astral/dream realms; I love love love dream interpretation

Usually I only have my sister to discuss “dream stuff” with. We have discussed common themes that appear in our dreams and I wanted to know what are some common dream themes of yours?

For example, my sister’s dreams many times take place in a school or in a haunted house. I have a lot of dreams that take place in a skyscraper or have skylines in the dream.

My common dream themes:
Elevators
Cities/skyscrapers
Water
Moon
Doors
Trains/planes/automobiles
Family members
Animals

How about you?! Thanks for sharing!

Edited to add: butterflies, rollercoasters

I don't think I have common themes.

Good to see you here, Manymoones.

I had been a prolific dreamer, and kept dream journals, sketches. Haven't looked through my journals for a very long time.

What comes to mind is that I've had many many dreams inside of airports.
Used to dream of aircrafts, and made sketches of (?experimental) planes in dreams that I saw (for real) in the sky decades later.
Had some surreal encounters on trains in dreams.

Dreams of tidal waves.
Standing in deep lakes.

Serial dreams (when younger) of having been in a ballet troupe. (Never took dancing.)
Repetitive round of dreams of paddle steamboat accidents/fire and landing underwater.
Getting hit and electrified by lightning strokes.

As a small child-- several dreams, running in a sudden black storm, with glowing ingots raining down, pelleting my skin with hits and burns as I ran.

You mentioned moons.
I had one remarkable very surreal dream once of 7 orbs (like moons) lined up in the sky above a tall range of hills. I wondered if they were UFOs? Dream finished with finding a beautiful blue-skinned 'UFO' adolescent male youth in a restaurant, who was also dressed as a Spanish toreador?! We had a line of clear telepathy between us, then he vanished when I tried to approach him.
(Reminded me of depictions of Krishna, or Babaji?)

I've had outer-space walk dreams. Walking along curved space in space. Encountering 'frames' like wooden white window frames, doors, in outerspace like walking through a museum. They were just hanging there, suspended.

I've had angel encounters in dreams.

Dreams of molecules in pink bathroom tiles exploding open like a graphic, where I could see/sense the collagen that held matter together. It's all held-together by the force and collagen of Love. It was an ecstatic experience.

Had other 'religious' mystical experiences WITHIN a lucid dream. Had a born-again experience INSIDE the dream and woke up transformed by dawn.
{That was during an Eclipse to my Neptune 25+ Libra H10 on April 13/14, 1987.}

The Pink Tiles dream had come years before-- Nov 17, 1980.

It's interesting to look at some of the transits I was having during those times.

Would make quite a project to match transits to dreams.

(music) Krishna's Flute (composed by Swami Kriyananda) [3:29] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84K9kqbPtRM

Thank you for your interesting topic.

Wow - thank you so much for sharing Mirage!!

I am going to start sketching my dreams. I have some stick drawings for some of them but I think it would be beneficial to put more emphasis on this.

I remember my first lucid dreams as a child - I always chose to fly and I would fly as long as I could before I would wake up

Your moon dream is incredible! Your description does sound just like I imagine a UFO would be, especially given the characters that also appeared in the dream. Very, very cool ! Many times when I dream of the moon it is gigantic as if I am viewing it from somewhere other than Earth. One of my more profound moon dreams I was overlooking the ocean. The moon was enormous and glowing and was rising above the horizon. Once it was in the sky it started spinning in 360 degree motion.

I once had a dream of possibly the triple goddess archetype? I had never heard of the triple goddess prior to the dream. Three women came from the sky and down to Earth, the first a young girl, the second a young woman, and the third a beautiful woman adorned in silver from head to toe, glowing. It was mesmerizing.

I have a lot of "free falling" dreams - many times this occurs via elevator, trains, or in nature. My most recent free fall I was not fearful and was completely at peace. I think perhaps a sign of learning to surrender to the present moment? But oh my goodness, the elevators don't work so well in my dreams

I recently had a dream on a space ship. We were overlooking a planet that looked just like Earth. We then went through a wormhole where everything went white and arrived back to Earth. Your outerspace dream reminds me of a painting that Salvador Dali would paint

I agree, I think matching transits to dreams could tell a very interesting story. I know this past weekend with 11/11 I woke up and could recall multiple dreams. In one of the dreams from this past weekend I had a recurring visitor: Mama Bear and her cubs. Whenever I dream of bears it is always a Mama Bear with her cubs and it is always a brown bear.

I find it fascinating how much we can be transformed by dreams. It always makes me think of our dream state versus waking state; the way we can feel things in dreams, emotions that are stirred - these things are very real. Some of my most profound moments have occurred in dream land

One of my common dream themes is doors, especially locking them or the doors being broken and unable to close or lock, usually something is after me.

Last night I had this theme in my dream again. I am trying to lock a back door but I realize the hole where the deadbolt would go has been painted over so I have to make a hole in order to lock it.

Later in the dream I am walking back up to the house and the front door has not been locked and I do not feel secure because of this.

I have these door/broken door/locking dreams all the time.

Are you dealing with your inner safety? Is there something you try to keep away from entering your world?
Could it be you have fears of something waiting for you outside, just "by the door"?
If you fail to lock the door, could it be there is no escape, and something is there, coming to change you? To transform you?

Hmm, I would say my themes are always some sort of thick story or adventure. if it isnt a dark dream, it's usually very fun or sort of action-adventure themed. I often feel like I'm watching more than participating.

I have visitors in my dreams often too, from people I know in this life. i almost always wake up mentally discussing what my psyche is trying to teach or tell me with the dream- though sometimes it's emotional waking rather than verbal.

I think you have beautiful dream themes. I enjoyed reading all the fabulous descriptions. Mirage, that Ufo dream is fascinating, and Manymoones, you also described fascinating, pictorial scenarios. Implosions, it's interesting how your psyche is animating your inner life through adventures including people you know.

When I was a child, I used to fly a lot. Then, at adolescence , I gradually lost that ability. Very rarely do I fly today. It could be nice to regain this ability in dreams...

As a teen, I used to have recurring dreams of me trying to run away from a prison. I was always caught.

I still write journals of my dreams, but I cannot think right now on recurring themes. At least not recently. Perhaps I need to dig into past times. Anyhow, my dreams tend to be very down to earth.

Thank you to everyone for sharing Dreams can be quite beautiful!!

I always try to think about my dreams when I wake up before I go about the rest of my day. If I don't, it's usually quite hard to remember unless it happened to be a very vivid dream.

Not a common theme, but I had an interesting dream experience the other night where I had a very vivid dream. I then proceeded to tell someone all about my dream in great detail. And THEN I woke up lol! When I woke up I realized I had been telling someone about my dream while still in dream land.

Sweet dreams to everyone

Yes, it's so good to have you checking back in with us!

I hadn't noticed what you wrote last April-- telling someone your dream, within the dream?

You have a really sophisticated consciousness. Do you meditate a lot?

I remembered the super stellium of planets you have in Capricorn (your 11/ 12th House). Get ready for a very interesting and intense year.

You've been together for 10+ years, with this same partner. He must be close in age with you.

If there was ever a time when you need to be 'open' with him, and for the two of you to draw closure and practice sharing 'everything' that's going on inside of you, then it's especially going to be over the coming months and year (next few years). (Share all those thoughts and feelings openly-- be "vulnerable" with him, with each other. Stay close. He had asked you to. ….. You are soooo Blessed.)

Yes, your Saturn Return-- basically starts mid-December, then January 2020; February 1 and first couple weeks of Feb is your first-pass EXACT return. .. It will go retrograde and cross again in October. Then by December 2020, Saturn will do its final pass, and be on to Aquarius.

haha. Big year for you.
Challenges, but!, good things appear too.

Maybe borrow some astrology books from your library? Stephen Arroyo has a book on Karma & Transformation.
Has chapters describing the Saturn Return.

(Other astrologers have written chapters on the Saturn Returns too-- just can't remember all of them right now. Heard that Liz Greene has a book on Saturn that's supposed to be pretty good (I don't have that one yet). )

You've got time.
Don't have to rush it.

So yes. From time to time I think of you. Especially after your husband happened to have picked out that Salvador Dali 'Mirage' poster at the store (you mentioned this earlier). Warmed my heart.

12 House is a house of dreams.
I'm not surprised by the fact you've had difficulties. (Saw your sad face.) Do you realize how 'strong' you are?? Later in life, you may really really know this about yourself, because of all the things you went through 'earlier' in your life. Your latter years, to be better than the first.

They say that when you've been together for 10 years, then you can declare that you have true compatibility? Congratulations!

Soul Unions.. your Composite

That was very comforting Mirage, thank you!! You are so kind. I am keeping the faith, some days harder than others... but there is so much to be grateful for and my faith will remain!

I picked up a copy of that book and started reading it last night. I love it. It is perfect for what I am going through right now and was rather elucidating even in the first handful of pages I read. Excited to expand my understanding and continue this journey.

I do have a yoga and meditation practice that I am very passionate about which has been very healing. One of my favorite things to do besides sleeping and dreaming I have had some interesting, quite “astral”, experiences during a few of my meditations.

“Keep The Faith” - shall be a mantra of mine as I navigate through this 12th house Return.
