I don't want to be the heavy here, but, I mean, he is older and doesn't exactly seem to be the most most calm person in the world. He doesn't strike me as having the best health habits, either (see: picture of him w/ cigar) - he may have had a cardiac event (or a stroke).Randall (if you're reading this) - You don't have his phone number or anything, do you? Or do you know his real name? It may be prudent to do a search to see if his name's showed up in any of the papers local to him. IP: Logged |

Hopefully he is ok. I like him being here, he makes things much more interesting. Even when I don't agree with his point of view (which is often lol), he does get me thinking.IP: Logged |

jwhop is hardly the oldest person here or even slightly delapidated as many of the other older knowflakes. His cigar smoking doesn't indicate he is some kind of completely unhealthy person either. He periodically takes breaks from LL especially when things turn into an emotional anti-Bush / Republican / religion fest. Why should he waste his time trying to explain anything to people that will just say it is apart of some conspiracy...etc... He also may be with his family or on vacation. I am sure he will come out later - he always does. I miss him too IP: Logged |

....on the other hand........I understand Prox's concern too... You don't have to be "old" or "delapidated" for stuff to happen... Case in point....dear Gregory over at CE who was only 58 and seeming in very good healtlh...non-smoker, non-drinker, and into martial arts.... One never knows....so maybe we should do some inquiring.... Love, Rainbow IP: Logged |

I wasn't implying that he was especially old or run-down - but my 56-year-old, non-smoking but stressed uncle just had a double bypass. He could've had a fatal heart attack at any time, and his condition wouldn't've been caught unless he had gone in for a standard check-up. IP: Logged |

That is a heavy thought. As far as I knew Randall knows Jwhop outside of LL, so maybe he could reach him?Hopefully pid is right. We all take breaks from this crazy daisy place. For various reasons, of course. Either way, although it is peaceful around these parts lately, I do miss the loveable ole' curmudgeon. IP: Logged |

I want to get back to the subject for just a second.First there was Bush saying, "War alone won't defeat terrorism," which were my sentiments a while back when Jwhop was insisting that military might and violence were the only answers. Now today we see this headline, "Around 1,000 to be freed from Abu Ghraib as gesture." (And of course the conviction of Lynndie England) Once again, we seem to be seeing what I had called for back in those threads. Transparently good --I'm telling you. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050926/wl_nm/iraq_prisoners_dc_3 IP: Logged |
