The example of "lesbian" comes from those unevolved straight men that you find in bars that try to hit on intelligent women. When the woman tells them to buzz off, they shoot back with a quip "OH you must be a lesbian".

This is par for the course. See, with some people, when you stand up for a truth or point out the "flock" mentality in following the group philosophy, they begin to get angy and make little remarks. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all. I do laugh hard when people who pretend to be to open, caring, loving and peace-seeking, usually end up being the ones calling someone racial and gender biased names.

Ahh... what is it they say about Pluto on the Ascendant (other than being prone to being obsessive compulsive which I am not)..... oh yes, we are prone to dig deep into the depths of all that is ugly, ferreting out that ugliness, knowing how others cringe and rebel - yet it still has to be done.

Or it could be that I just don't have high enough boots to put up with some of the rampant BS that floats around here from time to time

But I assure you, I am not part of the "clique", as you called the defenders of GG.
Please do Not lump me in with the "clique"
as you call it. I am very much an outsider for the most part and will not play the poser games just to be liked.
I am hated or disliked there by "some" also.
However....
GG has always been kind to me personally and we have had many non political discussions. There is more to her than politics.
I feel she is entitled to her say as are you.

And you have always treated me with respect even though we do not agree politically or religiously. Thank you for that.

But again I assure you I do not belong to any percieved clique.

I didn't even see your post. Since you almost never post here, I would never include you in a clique. That said though, I do find it ironic that you chose to post in GU in support of your friend when she was not personally under attack. Her posts concerning the "political" statements she made were under attack.

Let's also keep in mind she attacked me on certain levels. Questioning my education and science background - her example was poor as it was from a summary she found during a quick google session. It was her intention to try to throw dirt on quick explantion on how one can take numerous sources, include them all in a bibliography, but never quote any of them and instead still come up with their own theories. That was one of my major points.

My other major point was that you cannot use the source in question to back up the source in question as that creates bias.

So, she counters with an attack on my background. When I post my science background - I end up getting several posts on "I don't know why you did that". LOL...

It is an endless battle because topics aren't addressed when there are more attacks on the person, background and on semantics.

Instead, there are several people that I have called on the carpet concerning specific issues, now when I am in any type of situation countering another person, they almost salivate and post something inane to basically let the other person know they are loved, adored and all will be okay since I am so mean.

.... it cracks me up - but I am not the only one this has happened to. It happens in other forums as well.

Disagree with a self-proclaimed guru / spiritual master and next thing you know you end up being followed on your next posts. They make it a mission to try and discredit the person. It doesn't happen to me often because I will slam the person into little pieces if need be- usually, once I aggressively question them, they start to get angry and throw out vile insults, thus proving how stupid they really are.

But, you saw some of that in your own posting life here at LL. Some people that didn't like what you had to say made sure to antagonize you any time you posted. It was wrong what they did, but you did notice how easy a lynch-mob mentality can begin to brew. Hmmm... no wonder it is so easy to get the young, angry and dim-witted to join terrorist groups. But no, I don't thin of you as in a clique and I do enjoy your posts and respect your opinion.
