Oh.I'm a babe in the woods when it comes to politics. I just started studying social science, and I'm not interested in learning about politics at all. As far as I'm concerned it just keeps dividing people to serve its purpose. That site www.savethemales.ca freaks me out a bit. But I would not be surprised. Not at all. I've been 'paranoid' before and then blamed that on stress/depression. I'm sick of depression. Sick of doubting myself, and feeling plagued by helplessness. We are fed such crap, and no one wants to believe that it is lies. We wonder why society has the morals it does and why we try to measure up to each other and an unrealistic portrayal of reality??? People always tell me "You're so pessimistic, stop complaining that the world owes you, blah blah blah. Lighten up." It's like if you don't want to reinvent yourself as the latest walking Barbie doll, you must be boring and outdated. I think NOT. I believe the biggest influence is out there is an evil one. The artificial and shallow media that we follow in our quest to be liked, to be someone, to get somewhere, so we can fulfill our superficial desires. Few kind hearted, generous and sympathetic people out there these days. To make it worse it is rubbed in our faces. We fall for the same **** , over and over. People we would look up to and that we expect to 'save us' are knifing us in the back as well. So much conflict, and while we try to resolve it we just get lost in the pieces. IP: Logged |

I just wanted to post this... it's lyrics from a Disturbed album. In an age of nothing, at time when we stand at the brink of our own destruction.
Strengthen your belief in yourself, in the future of humanity, in the things of this world which cannot easily be percieved, awaken that which lies dormant now within your soul. Re-ignite the flame of your consciousness, and measure the strength of your conviction. Reveal the lie, renounce your hatred. Seek, find and embrace the truths you are fortunate enough to discover. Cherish them, use them to anchor you in the sea of chaos that is the world we live in. When twilight draws near, when you are pushed to the very limits of your soul, when it seems that all you have left are the dead remnants of the fabric of your life... Believe.

You understand politics far more than you think you do, bleakbeauty. In that last sentence of yours you summed it all up in a nutshell. It is to the advantage of governments that they keep the people divided. We pose too great a threat to them united in one cause. quote: It's like if you don't want to reinvent yourself as the latest walking Barbie doll, you must be boring and outdated. I think NOT.
I like your way of thinking, bleakbeauty. The reinvented Barbie Dolls are a dime a dozen. It's better to be respected and accepted for who and what you are as a person rather than for the way you look. Rainbow, that article ties in with Eleanore's thread about the increase in prison and jail populations under Bush's leadership. Part of the NWO.
I like that picture you posted of Bush and Cheney. In the picture Cheney looks like evil incarnate as he always does but even in that outfit Bush still looks like a wimp.

Bleakbeauty....Try and not get discouraged. Things could be worse...(and they may be before they get better. *sigh*) I realize things are kind of a mess, but maybe with action, hope, prayers, and faith that good will triumph over evil in the long run.....all will be okay.... I think that's the "great plan." So - Cheer up! ........and BELIEVE! Love, Rainbow

Right on, Rainbow That's what keeps me from being discouraged too. It may seem like evil prevails at times but ultimately in the end, good always triumphs. IP: Logged |

Oh, from Alice in Wonderland:`Fury said to a mouse, That he met in the house, "Let us both go to law: I will prosecute YOU. --Come, I'll take no denial; We must have a trial: For really this morning I've nothing to do." Said the mouse to the cur, "Such a trial, dear Sir, With no jury or judge, would be wasting our breath." "I'll be judge, I'll be jury," Said cunning old Fury: "I'll try the whole cause, and condemn you to death."'
